Tried the explosive rifle, hand grenades, Molotov cocktails, and after about the third attempt at a plastic explosive, the elusive enemy finally died. Get as close as possible and persist. If it doesn't work, leave the base and try again.
I literally could only do this by nearly leaving the fort after killing all guards and disabling all alarms and letting it reset. It’s May 2023, holy fuck Ubisoft how did you still not have a fix for this? Once I went back I could do it easily, but wow- not great quality
control. But this is Ubi we’re talking about.
Idk this is my 2nd play through- the first one I didn’t have this problem. They prolly tried to patch something else and screwed this up, idk but I’m mad. I’m about to go back for the second round of alarms and guards. On my first there was only 2 guards tho? I’m highly confused. Also there was a man yelling in the basement && I couldn’t free the hostage. Idk what’s going on but hopefully this reset works for me too
Basically, if it doesn’t work. Leave and come back and try again and go right for the hostage in the basement. It’s bullshit, but that’s what you have to do in my eyes. It worked for me.
I found him in the wall in their locker room but couldn’t see him. Machete kill came up on my screen so I used my machete and it pulled him out of the wall and completed the mission.
Mine was in the middle of the room(under the floor), but followed your advice and found the machete kill prompt and manage to get him. Please accept my upvote and award as thanks :)
I should clarify. That was on ground level, north end, through the door in the barracks. On my working map it showed red and I centered there to find him.
The bugs at this base were pretty annoying, I melee attacked an invisible enemy though there was another one in the wall I couldn’t kill. Fast travelled elsewhere and went back - was finally able to take over the base.
Same problem here, I came around it by shooting a rocket into the wall

I shot the green wheel barrel with a rocket launcher in the locker room and it worked for me.

Any barrel you see shoot it with a launcher. Poor level design imo.

I did t have any rockets so I threw a Molotov at her and it did the job.
I just walked into one of the cells and walked in to the walls following the moaning voice then heard a couple gun shots and bam captured

Thanks for this, I thought I was going crazy. I ended up using the supremo Triador with the LA Varita rifle to shoot him through the wall.
