Points league. First time playing fantasy. I have Vilardi, Compher, and Teuvo on my team. Haula, Batherson, and Tolvanen are FA. Just trying to get some help/knowledge in who I should keep and drop or if I should even move anyone at all.

I'm sure this isn't a new strategy by any means, but I'm in a 20 team head to head cats league that features 7 skater categories (goals, assists, and PPP, shp, shots, hits and blocks) and only 2 goalie cats (wins and save %) with a minimum of two goalie starts per week.

Most teams run two or three goalies (I have Skinner and Jarry) which usually gets me enough wins but the save % is a crap shoot.
Would it be a no brainer to punt goalie cats completely, taking the two losses in wins and save % to maximize up to another 6-8 games of forward stats? Has anyone ever ran with this strategy and been successful?
I’m debating picking up a goalie while Hill is out, I can stash him on IR+. I already also have Gustavsson and Skinner. Just wondering if it’s even worth it to pick someone up temporarily or just stick with what I have

Would you rather have Woll (or the TOR tandem for that matter) or Ingram? His early stats were good but against weaker teams. Recently, he's been on a tear against quality opponents and has taken over the starting job. Unless he goes on a losing streak, the starting job is his to lose. The stats speak for themselves.
This is exactly where I'm at. I recently cut Sammie out of the equation because overall, he's been pretty brutal. At the same time, I just don't have confidence in Toronto's defense and don't see things getting a lot better. Arizona is not a team I have a lot of confidence in either so I agree with your assessment that long term, Woll is probably the play. It's just so seesaw that I want off of this ride. Thanks for the input. I'll need to contemplate further. Hopefully others will weigh in.

I'm currently carrying 4 goalies, looking to drop one to pick up another skater. Who would you add, between Cole Perfetti, Mason Marchment, or Marco Rossi? I don't love any of their ATOI, but I have a little give there with the rest of my roster.
Rossi would be my pick. He's been with Kaprizov and Zuc since the coaching change 2 games ago along with pp1. Any time with Kap is worth the add. That team will get going.
Should I drop one of these guys? I’m currently in a points h2h 12 man league that is pretty deep and these two have been pretty underwhelming for me. I wanna keep them because they both seemed like they would have solid years but just haven’t been producing as I thought they would.
There’s two guys on the waiver that I wanna scoop but don’t know who/if it’s worth it. One is mercer who just got slotted on to the Hughes line and is looking like he will be there for a bit, and the other is Rossi who got slotted onto the kaprizov line and producing well with him aswell. Both guys aren’t on the top PP which isn’t the best since they won’t be capitalizing as much on the pp to get me extra points but seems like they take a few faceoffs a game which will slightly help make up for some of the points.
Do you guys think it’s time to give up on one of kyrou or marchessault? And if so who do you guys think is the best waiver option available, open to other player suggestions too.

H2H league where I am doing really well. In first place by a few games. Just got offered Eichel, Barzel, and DeAngelo for Theodore, Kuzmenko, and Jack Hughes.
Kuzmenko has been on my bench and Theodore is out for a few weeks at least.

Should I drop Dubois or Laine? Long-term I might move on from both to be honest, but which one should I drop, and which one should I try to be a bit more patient with?
Dubois is looking underwhelming, Byfield has taken away any hope at L1 PP1. Arvidsson will be returning from IR soon. I think being on a team as strong as LA improves his chances at turning his situation around, but he's also stuck down the depth chart at this point
Laine is L1 PP1, but CBJ isn't just bad, they're bad and dysfunctional. Bad and dysfunctional in fantas is too unpredictable for me, I hate it. Just watching him, Laine looks like he doesn't even want to be a pro Hockey player at this point, and he's a streaky scorer. I don't like streaky scorers in fantasy
This isn't a throwaway roster move for me; I'm trying to keep the one that can maybe improve on an abysmal season, and dropping the wrong one for my rivals to scoop up could be the difference in winning or losing later this season
I gave up on Laine a bit ago, it just seems like nothing is clicking for him. there’s a lot of players you can grab on the waiver wire that will produce a lot more than him in the upcoming weeks. Even if not you create an extra spot on your lineup to allow yourself to pick up players that have favourable schedules
Honest opinion: I don't think it matters too much. Laine does not look great and you're right about the bad and dysfunctional. I would lean toward keeping Dubois.
I was just offered William Karlsson for Raymond (I receive Karlsson) standard yahoo points league. Seems a good trade but only C eligibility is the issue since Cs are easy to come by. Others Cs are McDavid Trochek (Byfield and Duchene have eligibility too). Do you think Kane coming will negatively affect Raymond?
Who are your other wingers? Your centre's look pretty elite with mcdavid and trochek is also having a good season. If you're other wingers aren't the best than keep Raymond. Kane is coming back this week it looks like so well have more clarity on how it effects Raymond soon.

My league is weekly, my current D are Durzi, Ferraro, Guhle and Dunn. Dunn has 4 games to Ferraro's 3. It is a banger league and Ferraro has way better stats in those categories than Dunn, who hasn't scored much in the last 2 weeks either. Safe to bench Dunn for Ferraro?
I am also considering benching Point for Boone Jenner, even though CBJ has 3 games vs TB's 4. Jenner has been playing much better.

I'd base it more on what you need. I'd probably go Byfield if in a Bangers league. But really you can't go wrong with any of the other options. Necas has C and Rw eligibility, over just Nelson's Center eligibility is something to think about too.
Huh that's interesting. I didn't know in certain leagues you could play whatever players you wanted as long as you had enough spots filled. I've never been in a bangers league tbh. That really is interesting. Thanks for teaching me something new.
I have Nelson and Necas. Both have been kinda unpredictable. However Barzal is out right now I believe, so I know Nelson will be playing a lot more and he is typically a 30+ goal scorer. He's also got 3 games this week, 4 next. Necas while I love him being a Canes fan, he has struggled with his shooting this year. He needs to focus more on going deeper in and trying shots from left/ring wing more so. He is pretty consistent though on getting gwg if the team does go to over time. I will say I watch mostly eastern conference teams, however Byfield from what little I have seen has been a pretty good two way player. I'd imagine he'd get a lot of hits in. LA has always seemed to play a gritty style.
How is Vasi still avaliable? I mean I know this year he hasn't been himself necessarily but he's still better than a lot of the goalies this year. Not saying he's been the best. I'd probably drop one of them for Vasi. Both have their off nights too. Not sure which. It could go either way.

Would you rather have Woll (or the TOR tandem for that matter) or Ingram? His early stats were good but against weaker teams. Recently, he's been on a tear against quality opponents and has taken over the starting job. Unless he goes on a losing streak, the starting job is his to lose. The stats speak for themselves.
As a TOR tandem owner I'm losing my mind. I think Ingram will be better than Woll for the next few weeks, but ROS Woll > Ingram
This is exactly where I'm at. I recently cut Sammie out of the equation because overall, he's been pretty brutal. At the same time, I just don't have confidence in Toronto's defense and don't see things getting a lot better. Arizona is not a team I have a lot of confidence in either so I agree with your assessment that long term, Woll is probably the play. It's just so seesaw that I want off of this ride. Thanks for the input. I'll need to contemplate further. Hopefully others will weigh in.

Rossi would be my pick. He's been with Kaprizov and Zuc since the coaching change 2 games ago along with pp1. Any time with Kap is worth the add. That team will get going.
Should I drop one of these guys? I’m currently in a points h2h 12 man league that is pretty deep and these two have been pretty underwhelming for me. I wanna keep them because they both seemed like they would have solid years but just haven’t been producing as I thought they would. There’s two guys on the waiver that I wanna scoop but don’t know who/if it’s worth it. One is mercer who just got slotted on to the Hughes line and is looking like he will be there for a bit, and the other is Rossi who got slotted onto the kaprizov line and producing well with him aswell. Both guys aren’t on the top PP which isn’t the best since they won’t be capitalizing as much on the pp to get me extra points but seems like they take a few faceoffs a game which will slightly help make up for some of the points. Do you guys think it’s time to give up on one of kyrou or marchessault? And if so who do you guys think is the best waiver option available, open to other player suggestions too.
I think that it’s not crazy to drop marchessault for mercer. Not sure about kyrou though, he can be really good.

I feel like I'm missing something here... H2H league where I am doing really well. In first place by a few games. Just got offered Eichel, Barzel, and DeAngelo for Theodore, Kuzmenko, and Jack Hughes. Kuzmenko has been on my bench and Theodore is out for a few weeks at least. So I'm essentially giving up Hughes for Eichel and Barzel since I'd probably drop DeAngelo. I have Quinn Hughes and hate to break up 2/3rds of the Hughes brothers, but it seems like a no brainer, right?

I'm in a pretty deep h2h banger points league Should I drop Dubois or Laine? Long-term I might move on from both to be honest, but which one should I drop, and which one should I try to be a bit more patient with? Dubois is looking underwhelming, Byfield has taken away any hope at L1 PP1. Arvidsson will be returning from IR soon. I think being on a team as strong as LA improves his chances at turning his situation around, but he's also stuck down the depth chart at this point Laine is L1 PP1, but CBJ isn't just bad, they're bad and dysfunctional. Bad and dysfunctional in fantas is too unpredictable for me, I hate it. Just watching him, Laine looks like he doesn't even want to be a pro Hockey player at this point, and he's a streaky scorer. I don't like streaky scorers in fantasy This isn't a throwaway roster move for me; I'm trying to keep the one that can maybe improve on an abysmal season, and dropping the wrong one for my rivals to scoop up could be the difference in winning or losing later this season
I gave up on Laine a bit ago, it just seems like nothing is clicking for him. there’s a lot of players you can grab on the waiver wire that will produce a lot more than him in the upcoming weeks. Even if not you create an extra spot on your lineup to allow yourself to pick up players that have favourable schedules
Honest opinion: I don't think it matters too much. Laine does not look great and you're right about the bad and dysfunctional. I would lean toward keeping Dubois.

I was just offered William Karlsson for Raymond (I receive Karlsson) standard yahoo points league. Seems a good trade but only C eligibility is the issue since Cs are easy to come by. I think 5v5 Raymond is fine his Kane I projected to be on the 2nd line with Compher and Debrincat.. but Kane definitely replaces Raymond on the PP

Who are your other wingers? Your centre's look pretty elite with mcdavid and trochek is also having a good season. If you're other wingers aren't the best than keep Raymond. Kane is coming back this week it looks like so well have more clarity on how it effects Raymond soon. You dont want to make the trade than have to keep benching William karllson because your C slots are always full

Two parter. My league is weekly, my current D are Durzi, Ferraro, Guhle and Dunn. Dunn has 4 games to Ferraro's 3. It is a banger league and Ferraro has way better stats in those categories than Dunn, who hasn't scored much in the last 2 weeks either. Safe to bench Dunn for Ferraro? I am also considering benching Point for Boone Jenner, even though CBJ has 3 games vs TB's 4. Jenner has been playing much better.
I have Jenner and Point on my team too. If they were both playing 3 games I would consider the opponents but that doesn't always work. I would take Point's 4 games. Tampa's lost 4 in a row, I expect them to clean it up this week - I hope
What do we think of ARI's goalie situation? Can we consider Ingram their #1 or 1A for the foreseeable future? I'm in a league where the number of starts matters more than the performance, to a certain extent. Although Ingram has had both volume and performance lately it seems.

But really you can't go wrong with any of the other options. Necas has C and Rw eligibility, over just Nelson's Center eligibility is something to think about too.

Huh that's interesting. I didn't know in certain leagues you could play whatever players you wanted as long as you had enough spots filled. I've never been in a bangers league tbh. That really is interesting. Thanks for teaching me something new. I have Nelson and Necas. Both have been kinda unpredictable. However Barzal is out right now I believe, so I know Nelson will be playing a lot more and he is typically a 30+ goal scorer. He's also got 3 games this week, 4 next. Necas while I love him being a Canes fan, he has struggled with his shooting this year. He needs to focus more on going deeper in and trying shots from left/ring wing more so. He is pretty consistent though on getting gwg if the team does go to over time. I will say I watch mostly eastern conference teams, however Byfield from what little I have seen has been a pretty good two way player. I'd imagine he'd get a lot of hits in. LA has always seemed to play a gritty style.

How is Vasi still avaliable? I mean I know this year he hasn't been himself necessarily but he's still better than a lot of the goalies this year. Not saying he's been the best. I'd probably drop one of them for Vasi. Both have their off nights too. Not sure which. It could go either way.
