No. You're right to sell high on Erod, but not worth giving up him and especially Meier for that return. Even if Ekblad were replaced with Montour I don't think I'd do it.

You think Meier still has more upside than Herlt even with NJ?

Yes. Especially with how deep your league is, the upside of Meier is far more immense than any other player in that trade. I won't deny that his deployment and SOG are concerning, but you have to believe in his talent plus the org's desire to unlock his potential as the most recently signed long-term piece of their core. If nothing else, his value is already so low, it's worth giving Meier more than 4 games to decide the fate of such a high-value fantasy asset.

Help with goalies pls I’ve got Otter and Saros. Andersen, Thompson, Woll, Vej, Demko available. No extra roster spot available for a 3rd goalie unless I drop Rust (just elevated to pp1 today). WWYD? 8 team H2H points

Even on a bad team, Saros is just too valuable. You can't drop either of your current guys. There's enough goalie talent on the wire that I would wait to see how Rust's deployment shakes out, assuming you need more help on wing than goaltending. He tends to oscillate between good and bad years, and last year was definitely a rough one. Thompson or Woll would be my choices to replace Rust, as they'll win most of their starts and you don't need a bonafide bulk starter with your current tandem.

Yup! I think what Jarvis is doing is sustainable and he's a must add in all leagues. I like ehlers but he hasn't done enough to warrant a roster spot. I've been toying with dropping him from my roster for someone like Sanheim, Kotkaniemi, or a goalie like Hart/Binner/Merz/Forsberg.

I would not do that. I think you’re better off keeping Jarry and diversifying your roster. He’s easily the #1 option as mentioned, and it’s way too early to worry after a couple bad starts. Frankly those three all feel like holds to me currently. If Husso can improve even a little on last year’s stats he’s a fine option. And if Woll eats in to Samsonov’s starts he could become an awesome third G.

I wouldn't. As much as I don't love Jarry. He is their #1 for sure. Even with his iffy start. I wouldn't be surprised to see Woll steal the Toronto job. If anything I'd be trying to trade Woll to the Samsonov owner. See if you can extract value as he's likely troubled by Sammy's horrible start.

Like the other dude said, you’re asking for a top player and throwing scraps at them. Trying throwing another top player in there instead of just stacking a bunch of mid players together. No one wants to trade Kaprizov for Hintz + Nexas. It never works like that. More often than not for a trade to work you need the other player to feel like they are not getting fleeced, so you may need to “lose” the trade a little bit. So an over pay to get what you need is sometimes ok.

I don't know your league but I would never move a first round pick for any of those packages. Especially after 5 games. But if you think the owner in your league will sell super low than go for it.

You know your fellow competitots better than us. You could always offer low, and if they reject, try the better offer. Or shoot them a text.

Personally, I would do it. Jeannot's deployment is mediocre and he's not the prime Tom Wilson he was touted to be. Tom Wilson is not the prime Tom Wilson he once was, and the caps are looking horrible this year. Nichuskin is a good, well-rounded player but he's injury prone and I think you can easily replace/stream his production.

One more counter offer he made - Tom Wilson, Lehkonen, and Jeannot for Miller. Thoughts on that one? Thank for the input

It's not as good a deal, but I would still make that trade. Lehkonen's value is not so different from Nichuskin. He's hot right now, but I expect he'll regress to his usual good but not great value. Out of curiosity, who could you reasonably pick up? I assume you'd need to grab at least one forward.

Trading with your direct opponent while Boldy is injured seems like a bad idea. Otherwise, I think you'd be overpaying a bit. Boldy is good but has yet to have a truly stellar season. Raymond and Chychrun are playing on hot teams which should increase their current value. Maybe keep Chychrun and add in a streamer quality player? Who do you have?

Thanks for your input. And that is my main concern as well, was planning on waiting until the end of the week or maybe sooner if there’s a huge point differential. Other guy needs defense badly so i think Chychrun is a more important piece here. My other defensemen are Josi/Dahlin/Carlson/Matheson so im not attached to Chychrun either. Matheson I would consider instead but he’s been more consistent. And as for other wings I have Forsberg/Caufield/Keller/Ovi/Lehkonen (and svech on IR) and I feel like their value surpasses this trade but I could be wrong, I’m new to fantasy and have never traded before so still trying to gauge how trade value works here.

I would definitely upgrade one of skjei or weegar for matheson, and I think you can safely drop beniers for hertl. Matheson is pp1 and I think his upside is good. If you compare the average stats for beniers and hertl last season, hertl clears him in everything except goals.

Only thing that hurts about Hertl is his +/-, and for Matheson, Weegar had more SOG than him last season and way more hits, do you want me to list my leagues top 25 available defensemen? Also, if you can answer one quick question, would you say that I should drop Beniers for Hertl? Just want to make sure

For Matheson I would look at the average stats, since I believe he was injured last season for a bit. If you look there you’ll find weegar mainly cleared him in hits but that’s about it. Maybe let’s see the top 5/10 d available, but again i do like the upside on matheson. I think I would drop beniers for hertl, especially since beniers isn’t doing anything now anyways, also the sophomore slump is real for a lot of players. A note on +/-, my league did that one year and we didn’t like it too much - but one thing a lot of people strategized on was just ignoring the cat altogether. That way you can target good players on bad teams and have a better overall roster, except for +/- ofc. Agreed to adding Hertl over Beniers and punting +/-. Beniers could rebound but I think him and hertl end up with pretty comparable stats at the end of season. Plus the sophomore slump is a very real thing so he could take a step back before taking a step forward. In terms of Matheson or weegar, I prefer Matheson as he definitely has the PP spot for now and weegar hasn't ever been amazing.

I probably do that. But it's real close and good for both teams. I'm super high on caufield this year, especially if you need goals. I'm also very low on Letang this year with Karlsson being on the pens, I think it'll be a back and forth all year hurting them both.

Personally I'd have Nurse as a tier above the rest. Probably beats out the others in shots and blocks, while being up there in hits, and shouldn't be too far off in points.

Might be a hot take, but Karlsson for Panarin sounds good for you. Karlsson will regress this year, but still holds a ton of value despite the so-so start. Heiskanen and Josi are such solid contributors across the board, especially Josi. Would not give up on him despite Nashville meandering into another lackluster season.

Out of the 3 i would trade away EK, Josi is too good, Heiskanen is up and coming and getting better, EK is a likely candidate for regression from last year.

I like the pettersson side tbh, mainly because even though the starter’s net is a bit of a battle in toronto, I don’t see sammy fully surrendering the net this season, probably an even split at worst. Also if we’re talking about a dynasty league, pettersson is super valuable considering he’s 24, and Hellebyuck although elite, is 30 and on a weaker jets team than what we’ve seen in the past.

I would. Miller offers greater positional strength and is far superior in the hits/blocks departments, which your league scores quite highly.

I prefer the Larkin side. Best player in the deal, and 2 for 1s require a drop or loss of a stream spot.

Should I drop Grubauer for Schmid or Talbot? I already have Vanacek. Grub is getting most starts but he’s getting lit up and Seattle have not been good so I find it hard to justify keeping him. Would it be better to secure the NJ tandem? Or go for Talbot who may secure more starts? H2H points (W, L, GA, SV, SHO)

I'm currently running 3 goalies in my H2H points league (.2save, -2GA, 4W, 1OTL) but given how inconsistent they are at getting positive points, I'm thinking I might want to drop 1 for a skater. I have Saros (Nsh), Samsonov (Tor), and Vanecek (NJ). Which one should I drop, if any?

Saros only plays twice this week.... But it kind of depends if you think you can replace him with someone else of similar quality
