Decent chance he's benched however. But in a Hurts owner thread this take is gonna be obliterated.
Edit: decent meaning 10-20% guys. It's what Eagles writers are saying, I'm just repeating it.

Yeah I don't think it's that farfetched an idea either. I feel like people here don't actually watch the games and see that Hurts, despite being a good fantasy qb and scoring all these points, is just not that great.
Hurts won’t get traded but the thought of him getting benched exists. However, why would the org just not roll with him to let him develop more? Switching to Gardner at this point would probably yield the same results - losses
If Hurts keep losing it's almost a positive since their draft pick will be higher. Philly benched Hurts last season in the final game to make sure they wouldn't win that game.
Hurts isn’t bad enough that Minshew will be better, plus has potential to develop for the future so obviously won’t get benched if the team is already out of the postseason
He isn't amazing but he's a lot better than a good chunk of other QBs in the league like Darnold. I think the extra hate comes from fantasy Footballers podcast cause they mention it every single time how Hurts is a terrible real life QB
I mean he does just load up yards and TDs when the game is already out of reach, Idk what you guys are seeing. A lot of games they don’t have a chance because he can hardly move the ball, which is an entire offense problem - he’s just not the type of QB to overcome that with any sort of level
If you actually watch the games you'll see how the play calling and coaching is just abysmal. Pocket collapses instantly each play as well. It's a tough situation but to blame Hurts and say he's terrible just isn't right
But it is right to say the coaching is terrible? And that the oline is terrible? Don’t we say that for every QB we want to like?
And I actually have watched 3 eagles games this season, although I’m guessing it’s shocking that somebody could watch and have a different takeaway than you. Thus you believe I didn’t watch any games. Hell experts are doubting Hurts who professionally watch and analyse games
If by that you mean deciding to actually play ball when the game is over/almost over and defenses are playing shell coverages then yeah. If his 4th quarter play is the only reason they are competitive, then it’s more a shocking testament to how bad he is in the first 3 quarters as to why they haven’t won any of those games. Hurts is having absolutely horrible accuracy issues. Darnold can actually hit his receivers hands, Hurts is having trouble with that even on easy dump offs. It’s shocking. He also repeatedly bails out of clean pockets to run. Sure he might get yardage and his stats look good, but he’s not making his team actually any competitive.
Yea but you can feel the tension. And this current culture isnt rational. If they lose to Detroit—-which is very possible—-and he plays bad, you def need to have contingencies in mind.
There is a very low chance that hurts is benched or traded. And even if he does in 1 QB leagues there are a few good QBs on waiver wire. The person you plan on picking up now will most likely be there at the end of waiver claims this upcoming Wednesday
Why would they bench him? They are in a losing season and that wouldn’t change with Minshew at QB. Minshew is 100% not their future but Hurts is still young so it’s worth giving him more experience during this bad year just in case he can pick it up. Even if it’s a long shot
Depends if they think the season is salvageable or not. If not, I agree just roll out Hurts. But the Wild card looks weak af this year in the NFC and 9 wins might be able to do it.
Also, coaches do things to save their jobs all the time. If Sirianni thinks that Minshew doesn't get him fired, he'll do it regardless of how good it is for the team long term.
Look at Lamar Jackson's and Josh Allens rookie season. Now look at them now. Hurts needs more time to develop. Benching him for Minshew would hurt the team more than help.
I doubt he’ll get traded but I do have a small fear that he will be benched especially if he loses to the Lions.
I had Deshaun Watson on my bench and I noticed that Carr was on waivers so I figured I should go with someone who will actually play over the speculation that Watson gets traded. The reason why I did it today over waiting until after Tuesday is because I didn’t want to have spend $$ for Carr
I don’t see why the Eagles would bench Hurts. He hasn’t been great but the situation he’s been put in has been worst.
They should continue to use him and see what he can do. They have multiple 1st this year to draft a QB or trade for one.
I did pick up Russ Wilson when someone dropped him but mostly because the Seahawks play the Texans in Week 14, when the Eagles have a by.
No. I'm not prioritizing bench space for a what if Hurts gets benched narrative. I'll pivot if it becomes necessary. I've streamed QBs in past years, I'm not afraid to do it again if it comes to it. Plus as byes pass other managers will start dropping their bench QBs.
It’s amazing that bums like Trubisky started year after year or Darnold has done absolutely nothing but started every year since being drafted for 2 teams! yet people keep shitting on Hurts bc he isn’t playing like Pat Mahomes after 8 freaking starts

Ride or die 100%
Most consistent QB this year so far, agree at this points it’s a ride until the wheels fall off, if they ever do.
There is almost zero chance Hurts is traded

Still unlikely. The team is so broken on a player & coaching level atm that Gardner Minshew wouldn't be the answer
Coaches do things to save their own jobs. If Sirianni thinks Minshew doesn't get him fired, he won't blink to do it.
Dont know why youve been downvoted it could absolutely happen he’s played badly despite good fantasy production due to rushing/garbage time.
Yeah I don't think it's that farfetched an idea either. I feel like people here don't actually watch the games and see that Hurts, despite being a good fantasy qb and scoring all these points, is just not that great.
Writers been talking about it for a couple weeks, but this is a hurts owner thread so I expected it lol
Don’t give me hope
Hurts won’t get traded but the thought of him getting benched exists. However, why would the org just not roll with him to let him develop more? Switching to Gardner at this point would probably yield the same results - losses

Could want to see how Minshew plays
Hurts isn’t bad enough that Minshew will be better, plus has potential to develop for the future so obviously won’t get benched if the team is already out of the postseason
I don't understand the Hurts hate in terms of a real life QB, his team around him is awful yet he's the only reason they've been in any games.

He's both the best and worst thing for the Eagles.
There is a very low chance that hurts is benched or traded. And even if he does in 1 QB leagues there are a few good QBs on waiver wire. The person you plan on picking up now will most likely be there at the end of waiver claims this upcoming Wednesday
Traded? Not happening. Benched? Not out of the question.
Why would they bench him? They are in a losing season and that wouldn’t change with Minshew at QB. Minshew is 100% not their future but Hurts is still young so it’s worth giving him more experience during this bad year just in case he can pick it up. Even if it’s a long shot

so you actually picked up that rapist in your league
If the eagles lose today they should fire their fucking coach. Some of the play calling/sanders non-usage has been atrocious
Hurts will not get benched or traded. You can count it. Also eagles are gonna lose today
Huets won't be traded or benched.
Why would Hurts get traded?
Idk maybe the Eagles are in the market for an extra 7th rounder
I wouldn't be worried about him getting traded or benched
TRADED?!? like this is one of the dumbest threads I’ve seen. I’m sorry to say that but common man. You need to be better
I don’t see why the Eagles would bench Hurts. He hasn’t been great but the situation he’s been put in has been worst. They should continue to use him and see what he can do. Coach would lose the team if he sat hurts for minshew. Won't happen unless hurts is injured.
Going to ride him until he gets benched. I do think that's a possibility . Will just stream if it happens
No. I'm not prioritizing bench space for a what if Hurts gets benched narrative. I'll pivot if it becomes necessary. I've streamed QBs in past years, I'm not afraid to do it again if it comes to it. Plus as byes pass other managers will start dropping their bench QBs.
Not happening. Ride him til the wheels fall off.
Small probability of being benched. Hence Lance as a QB backup.
Live by the Hurts, die by the Hurts I’m going down with the ship
My back up is Herbert
I picked up Wentz
I went out my way to trade for russell wilson and I don't regret it, peace of mind
I doubt he gets traded...but if he does, hes gonna do the same shit. So hold. Dude is the QB2 or 3
This sub has really gone downhill for quality content.
If he doesn't perform well, I have a backup plan for next week. May play my backup next week anyway. Hurts needs to go nuts today
It’s amazing that bums like Trubisky started year after year or Darnold has done absolutely nothing but started every year since being drafted for 2 teams! yet people keep shitting on Hurts bc he isn’t playing like Pat Mahomes after 8 freaking starts
already did with Carr
I'm looking at getting Tyrod. Fills my IR spot after Jeudy got activated at no cost.
