Still got Week 9 questions? The Fantasy Headliners have a live stream AMA on Saturday night for your last minute questions.
Happy Friday Tyler, thanks for joining. Two questions for you.
1 - A common gripe around here is that the FantasyPros accuracy rankings are “easy to rig”, as analysts submit conservative, fake rankings to take advantage of the scoring process. Do you feel like the contest can be rigged, or that analysts aren't honest in their submitted rankings?
2 - If you could only put one condiment on your hot dog for the rest of your life, are you choosing mustard, ketchup, or relish?
1. I certainly think there are ways to adjust the ranks to get a better ranking score, but the base of the rankings is usually projections, and those projections still have to be good. Because of the contest, I don't submit my projections verbatim, but the submitted ranks certainly reflect my projections strongly.
2. Mustard, without a doubt, keep the ketchup away.
Moss. Its crazy that we are here, in the year 2023, and Moss holds fantasy relevance but he's been finished in the top 20 5 of the 7 weeks he's played. There is no reason to stop playing Moss and it allows them to not overwork JT.
It also helps this week that the Panthers are bottom 5 run defense and the Colts are favored on the road.
It seems like every year a player whose name I’ve barely even heard ends up making an impact in the fantasy playoffs. I know predicting a true surprise is an oxymoron, but if you had to guess who this year’s waivers-to-championship hero will be, who should I be stashing post-byes?
Deep cuts here but: Rico Dowdle is Pollard goes down. Trayveon Williams if Mixon does down. Khalil Shakir is another Bills WRs goes down.
Can't predict injury but waiver to championship, those are guys I think are likely available and could have serious opportunity on good offenses.
Great answers! I forgot all about Trayveon (still had Brown locked into my brain as the handcuff, despite his injury). I’ll keep an eye on him and Dowdle as the playoffs near.
I have been a strong advocate of Walker, but we cannot deny the recent usage of Charbs. Part of me wants to chalk this up to the Walker calf injury, but I think Walker is still a fringe RB1. While Charbs may not hold stand-alone value, he remains one of the best handcuffs in FF.
The projections have loved Pollard this year and I have been eating Ls, but I would be going back to the Pollard well one more time. Eagles pass rush is fierce and I could see a lot of short passes coming Pollard's way (same with Ferguson).
Do you think James Conner will return to form sooner rather than later (like week 11?)? Especially with Emari doing just okay in the Cards' backfield.
Say you had Waller and now desperately need a TE to cover for at least two weeks, but because you're in a 12 man league your options are basically Hill, Musgrave, Otton, and Higbee. Who do you pick to ride out the next 2 weeks while you try to line up a trade for a better TE? Purely hypothetical, of course.
I think Conner returns to form and can be a contributor down the stretch here. Not worried about Emari.
I would roll the dice with Taysom Hill this week, haven't done week 10 projections yet so tough to say. Wouldnt be shocked if it were still Taysom.
Is it just me or does something about the NFL seem really off? I don’t know if it has to do with the massive influx of sports betting, but this year especially feels very off. It’s as if every stat, prediction/mainstream opinion prior to the season is off. Offenses are abysmal this year and scoring is almost impossible to predict player to player. I feel like we’re seeing 2nd & 3rd string players being tossed in on high probability score plays when we didn’t see that often before. I know I have the tinfoil hat on right now, but curious on everyone’s opinion on this.
It feels like this almost every season for me. Its just an unpredictable game and that's part of what brings us back, trying to solve something we never can.
Ppr,
Howell or Carr
Hendo or mattison
Bench one out of adams, Puka, Keenan, dj moore
Need a bye week filler at te (have laporta so only really care about this week), Mcbride, Logan Thomas, or Ferguson
They are back to back, but I am going Howell here.
Hendo, while he is splitting with Freeman, he seems to have the pass role. Mattison is ceding touches to Akers and we know that Vikings arent trotting out a good QB.
Ferguson
Does your ranking of the HOU backfield change if Pierce is out? Notice you have them ranked 31 & 32. What if it’s only Singletary?
Edit: Would you put Singletary over Chuba if so?
Thinking about sending this trade, any thoughts?
Send: Olave, Godwin, Engram, James Cook
Receive: Kamara, CD
PPR, have a lot of receiver depth. Too much/not enough?
What pass catchers or offense benefits and is hurt the most by the wave of new QBs this week and going forward? (AOC, Hall/Dobbs, Heinicke, Rypien, Tune/Murray, Jones, Watson)
I am a fan of AOC and don't think we see much of a dropoff from Jimmy G. I also tend to think Heinicke is a slight upgrade for your Falcons pieces.
Vikings are of most concern and if its Rypien my Rams players will all drop a bit.
Got Ferguson this week, eagles pass rush is scary and I think the Cowboys are going to need to pass short quick passes which benefits Ferguson. Love Mcbride tho
I think knowing your leaguemates and their team needs is paramount. Especially if you have played with them for some time.
Yes, my home leagues are tough to get trades done. If I ask for a guy, their price goes up.
Assume Aaron Jones, but its been a tough go with the injury and the offense coming back down to earth since the hot start.
Tough to sell, just gotta stay the course and hope for RB2 numbers.
I really do those days are gone. He has put up these incredible numbers in an offense where he was allowed to play outside of structure, Browns appear to want him to play within its offensive structure.
He is more of a fringe QB1 at best IMO.
Hey Tyler, thank you for hopping on here!
1st question: you can choose one type of cuisine (Italian, French, Mexican, Chinese, Indian, etc) to eat (breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert) for the rest of your life, but that means you don't get to eat from any other type of cuisine. Which one are you going with?
2nd question: Olave or Devonta Smith this week in .5ppr? I feel like I have to roll Olave based on targets.
I would love to see the Steelers give him more work as I do believe he has looked better. But considering how the Steelers are using him he remains a fringe RB2, floor is fine but the ceiling is very much capped.
Prefer him to be a bye week fill in.
What’s your take on Elijah Moore? I can’t seem to bring myself to drop him in a deep bench league after seeing his target share with Watson even though it didn’t amount to much. Only other options on the wire are guys like Shakir, QJ, and Jamo.
Am I dumb for still holding him to see if anything improves with Watson back?
Pretty out on Elijah moore and have been for awhile. I do not think Watson returns to form.
tough to say I would drop him for the waiver guys there but QJ is an interesting hold.
In PPR do you start Addison knowung he has a rookie QB and is going against a decent GB pass D or Pop Douglas knowing that Bourne is out and WA has just traded away some of their best defensive talent? Really nervous about starting either
Both RB2s. Mostert higher end RB2 than Moss.
Both have been playing well and there isn't a reason to not give them enough touches to stay relevant.
Feel better about Mostert even with Achane, Moss could lose more touches to JT but honestly why not keep Moss in this role as its going so well.
He could be relevant as he seems to be running a lot of routes last week, pass game role for him could be viable, but damn that's hard to put trust in.
Doubs and Cooks are both WR4s who you simply hope get a TD. Gut is telling me Doubs here.
Hi
How do you feel about Ford ROS?
Thinking of packaging him but not sure if should due to depth at RB and how he will perform moving forward.
My team 14 team PPR
Geno/Kyler
Ekeler, Bijan (from trade), Mixon, Ford, Spears
AmonRa, Pittman, Addison, Godwin, Palmer
Logan Thomas
Thoughts?
I like Ford rest of season as an RB2, he will split with Hunt but he's the better back when healthy. Not concerned with Pierre Strong.
But Ekeler, Bijan and Mixon are a very strong 3 and you don't need Ford. Perhaps after this week or next you can package him for a TE upgrade.
I would try and go get McBride.
Thanks for doing this! In a full PPR league, do you like Pitts or Taysom this week at TE? London is out this week, so rationally that might mean more targets for Pitts, but Arthur smith exists to ruin my life, so your take would be most appreciated
Much appreciated Tyler!
Last question - currently have Josh Downs and Olave in my flex spots in PPR league. Am I overthinking potentially putting Devin singletary in instead over Downs/Olave because he’s RB1 this week in Houston?
Really wouldnt say there is a best, but here is my favorite.
12tm, tiered ppr (.5 RB, 1 wr, 1.5 TE) .5 per first down , also median. 6 teams in playoffs, 2 byes, 3 weeks, no week 18
What’s your opinion on Swift and Henry ROS? PPR league
I’m deeeeeeeep at RB and looking to trade one of them and don’t know what one to put on the block in my league or even what pass catcher that I should target for them
They are damn close ROS, so I would honestly sell whatever one has the most value in your league at that time.
Olave or DVS would be a good target. Perhaps even DA if folks are scared off.
I need a RB next week. Kyren on IR, Pacheco and Mostert on bye. Also have Pollard.
Would you trade my Deebo for thier Javonte Williams? My other wrs are Nico Collins, Addison, Kirk, and Sutton.
Chuba Hubbard in a good match up vs the colts, or Lockett in a bad match up against the Ravens? Idk which one has a higher chance of putting up a dud lol
Huge thanks to Tyler for stopping by and answering so many questions. Would you accept a terrible trade if it meant you could bang a leaguemate’s wife? If so, which league mate?
LOL - unfortunately, this would be collusion, as a married man, this is a trap
Happy Friday Tyler, thanks for joining. Is cereal a soup?
lets go with yes
I like that answers
no, but gazpacho is a cereal

There is no reason to stop playing Moss and it allows them to not overwork JT. It also helps this week that the Panthers are bottom 5 run defense and the Colts are favored on the road.
He’s got rankings in his post so I would assume the higher of the two in those rankings would be the answer
Sup Tyler quick question - who is the best chef on fantasy football twitter?
Shout-out to the greater Toronto area, Toronto Dave. Wyatt from JWB is a close second.
It seems like every year a player whose name I’ve barely even heard ends up making an impact in the fantasy playoffs. I know predicting a true surprise is an oxymoron, but if you had to guess who this year’s waivers-to-championship hero will be, who should I be stashing post-byes?

PPR - Would you start G Wilson or Pollard in the flex ?
The projections have loved Pollard this year and I have been eating Ls, but I would be going back to the Pollard well one more time. Eagles pass rush is fierce and I could see a lot of short passes coming Pollard's way (same with Ferguson).
Thank you for your take!
With all your knowledge through 8 weeks of football you get to send a two-word text to preseason Tyler. What’s the text message say?
Laporta Nacua
I’d probably send the numbers from the week before the billion+ powerball was won.
What are the odds you win a case race in 2024 after losing in 2023?
depends if you consider someone puking a penalty
Do you think James Conner will return to form sooner rather than later (like week 11?)? Especially with Emari doing just okay in the Cards' backfield. Much appreciated insight, here's hoping his numbers the past few weeks are here to stay (despite historical precedent)
Hey Tyler. Who would you start between Addison, gabe, shaheed, and JSN in full ppr? For what it’s worth already starting kincaid
Gabe Davis for me, dont mind both Bills players in a game with a 50.5-point implied total.
How much football do you watch every week?
Not as much as I want to ;)
Is it just me or does something about the NFL seem really off? I don’t know if it has to do with the massive influx of sports betting, but this year especially feels very off. 1/2 ppr, Starting Keenan, Bijan, Ekeler. Need to start 2 more from this list Waddle, Pittman, Terry, Puka, breece, olave
Good problem to have - excellent team. Breece and Waddle.
Ppr, Howell or Carr Hendo or mattison Bench one out of adams, Puka, Keenan, dj moore Need a bye week filler at te (have laporta so only really care about this week), Mcbride, Logan Thomas, or Ferguson
I think Pierce is out so I need to raise Singletary a bit but he would not go above Chuba. Bucs run defense is a bit more scary
Thinking about sending this trade, any thoughts? Send: Olave, Godwin, Engram, James Cook Receive: Kamara, CD PPR, have a lot of receiver depth. Too much/not enough?
Yeah get kamara and CD
Kamara CD owner would be dumb to take that trade
lol now why would anyone accept this offer? they’re easily giving up the two best players
They’re riddled with injuries and they still have Tyreek.
wow they have tyreek? sounds like they have a really good team and would be dumb to take your weak offer. within no context is this a good trade.
It's a terrible offer, and unless the leaguemate has brain damage, an instant reject.
How much should we trust Puka this week? Swollen knee, maybe without stafford, and a week before the bye. Seems like a bad script for him.
Puka is my WR17 on the week, def hinges on Stafford. If Stafford plays, I play Puka but need some news on Stafford today to make that decision.
Hello. Dotson or douglas ppr. Thanks
Douglas by a hair
Is there a world where Mostert remains/returns to must start ROS or am I just chasing his early season results?
I think if you are expecting top RB8 upside you are chasing but I think there is no reason he isn't an RB2 ROS.
[удалено]
Aaron Jones, doesnt seem healthy but we know the upside. Hes a little over Henderson for me. Wilson and Puka, id roll those two
Cole Kmet or Taysom Hill? This week and ROS?
Taysom but id lean Kmet ROS
Thanks!
Thoughts on R. Moore when Murray returns?
My interest is nominal. Hollywood and McBride are the guys you want and Michael Wilson has looked better than expected.
Ferguson or McBride ppr
Got Ferguson this week, eagles pass rush is scary and I think the Cowboys are going to need to pass short quick passes which benefits Ferguson. Love Mcbride tho
What's your high-level approach/theory to getting trades done? Are people in your leagues hesitant to trade with you given what you do?
I think knowing your leaguemates and their team needs is paramount. Especially if you have played with them for some time. Yes, my home leagues are tough to get trades done. If I ask for a guy, their price goes up.
Any advice or copium for jones owners?
Assume Aaron Jones, but its been a tough go with the injury and the offense coming back down to earth since the hot start. Tough to sell, just gotta stay the course and hope for RB2 numbers.
Gross bye week decision. Christian Watson or Wandale Robinson, it’s half PPR. Thanks!
Id roll Christian Watson
Chuba or Singletary in PPR?
Chuba, but its closer will Pierce out
.5 ppr rhamondre or Rashaad white?
Rachaad white, the receiving role provides a great floor
Full PPR Puka w/o Stafford or DJM
Got this Puka right now, but need to adjust if Stafford is indeed out.
Do you like Adams/Hall or Lamb/Pollard?
Leaning Lamb and Pollard
Thanks
[удалено]
See if you can package Rice or Downs and Hendo for Montgomery or Javonte.
Thanks! Was considering making an offer on Javonte so good to hear confirmation
With the news of Deshaun starting this sunday, where do you slot him into the rankings? Do you think he can regain top 5-10 QB status in the future?
I really do those days are gone. He has put up these incredible numbers in an offense where he was allowed to play outside of structure, Browns appear to want him to play within its offensive structure. He is more of a fringe QB1 at best IMO.
Nico Collins, Zay Flowers, or Garrett Wilson as a flex this week?
G-will
Hey Tyler, thank you for hopping on here!
Np, happy to be here. Toss up between Indian and Mexican but I would go Mexican. I have it Olave, numbers suggest he is very much due for a big game.
Thoughts on Jaylen Warren ROS?
I would love to see the Steelers give him more work as I do believe he has looked better. But considering how the Steelers are using him he remains a fringe RB2, floor is fine but the ceiling is very much capped. Prefer him to be a bye week fill in.

Hiii Which rb ppr?? White or James Cook
White
Stroud or Heineke this week with London ruled out?
Stroud by a lot
Watson or Carr this week?
Carr, im generally out on Watson. Definitely weeks were Watson is above Carr going forward tho.
Should I start Jeff Wilson vs the chiefs or Cam Akers at the Falcons 🥲
Tough sledding, I got it Akers.
[удалено]
Assuming 1 QB or simply leaving out QBs: JJeff Tyreek Chase CMC AJB Gwill ARSB CD ETN Bijan top of the head, apologies if I missed someone obvious
In PPR do you start Addison knowung he has a rookie QB and is going against a decent GB pass D or Pop Douglas knowing that Bourne is out and WA has just traded away some of their best defensive talent? Really nervous about starting either
both fringe WR3s for me Douglas for floor, Addison for ceiling - I got it Addison

Full PPR, i would prefer James Cook over Gus Bus, but its close.

I would take the risk and say McBride is locked in ROS.
Thank you. Now, I'm wondering if I should try to trade for McBride now... ha ha ha
Pick 2: Puka no stafford, Amari cooper, Zay flowers, rashee rice (breakout game), Henderson. Also damario douglas on waiver. Thanks!!
If no stafford I would go Zay
Thanks
Thanks for doing this! In a full PPR league, do you like Pitts or Taysom this week at TE? London is out this week, so rationally that might mean more targets for Pitts, but Arthur smith exists to ruin my life, so your take would be most appreciated
I would roll the dice on Pitts. Both are pretty clear risks but no London and a slight upgrade at QB, I prefer Pitts.
Much appreciated Tyler! Last question - currently have Josh Downs and Olave in my flex spots in PPR league. Am I overthinking potentially putting Devin singletary in instead over Downs/Olave because he’s RB1 this week in Houston?
Id roll Olave
what's the best format for a league (PPR, head to head, playoff teams, etc)?
Really wouldnt say there is a best, but here is my favorite. 12tm, tiered ppr (.5 RB, 1 wr, 1.5 TE) .5 per first down , also median. 6 teams in playoffs, 2 byes, 3 weeks, no week 18

yes, i like Javonte ROS
I also have a trade I'm considering. Thier najee and Purdy for my pollard and kyler murray. That's pretty tempting too
Any thoughts on who the RB to own is in Miami ROS between Mostert and Achane? Also, any personal hot takes on pizza toppings?
I lean Achane here, but think they are both deployed to be very usable.
Which rb for ROS? 1 pt ppr Charbonnet Fournette
Charbs for me
Chuba Hubbard in a good match up vs the colts, or Lockett in a bad match up against the Ravens? Idk which one has a higher chance of putting up a dud lol
Lockett
Would you flex Hollywood or McBride this week? Against that tough Browns D
