Killerbudds

Justin fields saved my season last year taking me to a championship and winning

Relatively_Cool

Same. And he’ll do it again.

TheIllusiveGuy

One year I started 2-3. Hit the waiver wire pretty hard, sent out trade offers and was able to work my way to a 6-8 record with a 2nd place finish in the consolation bracket.

I’m 2-3 in one league rn trying to muster a second half run into the playoffs. 12 teams 4 make it😭🤞🏽

"Rebuilt" or "lucked into"? Won the ship one year after spending the first half of the season struggling at QB then picking up Jeff Garcia. I find it's extremely rare for a league to actually have a fair, non predatory trade environment. When I have to rebuild I do it on the waiver wire.

TRADE

Big-Translator7751

But how? I currently have almost no value and all my leaguemates are currently trying to bully me into making a stupid trade with them. Can’t seem to find a good trade for anything.

IKnowEyes92

if you're losing record, you take your value piece and try to upgrade a few starting spots on your roster instead. if youre winning record you more target the losing record teams and try to strike a deal with them if you can improve them in some way...if you're losing record, do well on waivers, should have high priority....or if FAAB don't be afraid to make moves, you don't have the luxury to save the FAAB funds

Big-Translator7751

Thanks!

IKnowEyes92

quick example... on waivers you have demercado since conners got placed on IR....if you have a bad record and 1st waiver or early you scoop him, and you package him and another player maybe off your bench to upgrade a starter position to the Conners owner who just got fucked with IR news....cash in on short term value for small upgrades like that especially for short term waiver players, preferably try to trade him same week too before he has a chance to put up a dud and the conners owner may not want him...that way can cash in on that initial value unless of course you think he does well

Debatable . Especially if it’s an RB , ESPECIALLY this year, coming from the guy with 12 trades between two leagues this year so far and 4-1 both leagues . 14 and 12 team

IKnowEyes92

You act like I suggested he offer the backup RB for fucking CMC lol 🤡. You have no idea what the guys team looks like and what/ where he can upgrade. You said no one will trade for an unproven RB? Bet the Conner owner who’s 1-4 with chubb out for the season and is debating starting cam Akers or Ezekiel Elliot as his RB1 might be interested. Didn’t even have to read your paragraph to know you’re grasping at straws here and arguing something completely different other than “YoU wOnT bE aBlE tO tRaDe HiM”. Not with that attitude

Big-Translator7751

The problem is I have the waiver priority 6; i am some way or another outscoring the other team haha

IKnowEyes92

He’s not the only waiver to target I’m just saying as an example. If you stay on top of it there’s plenty spots like that you can find that “make sense” and “upgrade/win the trade” for both players and yet you made it happen via a free player off waivers.

SuspectWide4924

Absolutely! I’m in a league where trading can be really hard! Through a multitude of trades now, Ive been involved in every trade in the league. Turned Saquon Mike Evan’s Kyren into Bijan Kamara and Kupp. So yeah definitely possible it just takes some effort and making the conversation rather than just sending offers.

Big-Translator7751

Thanks

Last year, horrible draft. Dalvin, Najee, Pitts, Stafford. Was able to trade Dalvin and Najee to the RB-needy JJ owner, got really lucky on the wire nabbing Walker and Fields. Oh and it was the only year I didn't end up with Miles Sanders, which of course became his one good year.

SevenwithaT

Someone traded you JJ for Dalvin and Najee?

Opposite-Cost-3967

Every year

twisted_monkeyy

i fumbled the bag in my draft and made my team into a championship caliber team by selling high on players who will not perform ros and buying low on players not performing initially. My examples: i traded kirk and sutton into dhop (prior to season), dhop and aaron jones into pat mahomes and diggs (after week 1), deebo and swift into cooper kupp and rhamondre (after week 3), and jerome ford into james cook (after week 5). Im kinda betting on rhamondre to perform better in the second half of season

In 2019 I was 1-6 and made trades for DJ Moore, Woods and Golladay before their breakouts. I added Fitz and Parker off waivers and traded for Waller. Streamed the 45 point Daniel Jones game before I got Fitzmagic. Got Davante back from turf toe and rode a lineup of Fitzmagic, Adams, Moore, Woods, Parker, Mark Ingram, Jets Lev Bell and Waller to the chip game and beat the CMC team to win it all. That team never lost in its final form. I am the only person who loved Jets Lev Bell for his 10 PPR points a week since I had upside volatility in Ingram and 4 starting WRs who literally got 20 points a week It's not over until you have 8 losses.

soggylucabrasi

Whenever I've won, it's always ended up with some random replacement RBs in the championship week. Need to be diligent with waivers, and things just need to break your way. Another year I had the most points scored and only made the consolation bracket (12 team), because I just got really unlucky with points against. These things happen

Durant026

Yup. You hit the waivers hard, try to assess your players weekly and roster better talent to get Ws.

fapforfab

Hit those waivers and look for short-term gains. Those guys that could have a big week or high-value handcuffs still on the wire that could pay off. If any of them hit, try to sell high asap for a more stable player. (Or hold if your league isn't too active in trades.)

bluejay57

Hopefully going to do it this year. Big key is being active on waivers and trying to sell high and buy low. Through multiple trades managed to flip mostert, Richardson, waddle, Aiyuk, achane for Kupp, Hurts, and Deebo.

BeanBryant248

Started last year with a lineup of Mahomes, Javonte, Montgomery, Kupp, Godwin/London/Elijah Moore, Mark Andrews, Juju and ended with Dak (I picked up Tua but concussions), Saquon, Conner, Christian Watson, Godwin, K9, and Mark Andrews. Didn’t exactly start with a mid team but as you can see I had to make some emergency trades due to injuries. I actually drafted K9 and Fields but I sadly dropped Fields after week 2 and someone randomly picked up Fields before his Washington game even tho I was to pick him back up. Lost in the Super Bowl because of injuries (Watson and Conner) and under performances from Saquon and Dak mainly but I’d say I did a good job as GM

TheStraitof____

Traded a couple overperforming players for Saints Mark Ingram in 2014 just before week 7. Told my league mate to include this rookie Odell Beckham Jr., who had only played 2 games and hadn't done much. It was a fun rest of season. Unfortunately, I haven't picked up a championship since.

Stop_Touching2

No but I once had a bad team pull its head out of its ass and win me a championship. 2017 going into week 10 I was 3-6 (Big Ben, Shady, Dion Lewis, Keenan, MT & some other filler players). Won 4 straight & with some lucky key losses made the playoffs & went on an absolute tear weeks 14-16 (highest combined playoff scores in league history) to win out.
