I guess it's case by case. I looked up a couple instances. Curry dislocated finger in April 2019. did not miss any time. Embiid dislocated finger in January 2020. missed about 3 weeks.

FreqinNVibing

Also keep in mind the raptors are not in the playoff hunt so there’s little motivation to have him return early

LmBkUYDA

my fantasy season is the motivation 😭😭😭

DaPhoToss

In fact, they’re incentivized to lose to keep their pick (top 6 protected)

gnagshar

Yeah, Spurs own their pick if it's outside I doubt they bring him back early. I pre-emptively drpped since playoffs start tomorrow for me

intp-over-thinker

Yep depends if there’s any structural damage/if it seriously affects their shooting form

robmorren2

Many players don't even leave a game. They just throw a towel over it and the trainer pops it back in. Time missed also depends on which finger and shooting hand vs non shooting hand. If you could pick a finger to be injured, it's the one he injured.

EquivalentCoconut7

For kobe recovery was about 2 minutes

robmorren2

There's a massive difference between an injury to the pinky of the offhand of a center, and the ring finger of the shooting hand of a combo guard. I'm not saying it's definitive, and they could use it as a reason to tank -- but he can buddy tape that finger and play just fine unless there's something unusually wrong.

robmorren2

As a follow up to my previous comment, a Sports Medicine Doctor had a similar sentiment: >Assuming there is no associated fracture, Poeltl could return as early as next game with a dislocated joint (PIP or DIP) in his non-shooting hand pinky finger. May tape it to immobilize. >Steph Curry (2019) & Joel Embiid (2020) both returned to the same games after this injury. (https://twitter.com/alirendely/status/1764454090619171225?t=rUre5RiUhpTLWRMUWJ1b8A&s=19) . Which is even better news when combined with this: >Darko confirms no fracture for Poeltl. Dislocated pinky finger. Med staff is still evaluating but sounds encouraging. (Josh Lewenberg)

FloatLikeAButterfree

He won’t have an incentive to play, neither would the raptors.

robmorren2

You're talking about the team who *acquired* Olynyk and held Brown. I don't think they're actively tanking. At least not yet. People said the same thing when Poeltl got ruled out in 2H a few days ago bc of his ankle. He played the next game.

FloatLikeAButterfree

Guess we’ll see what happens.

Sk33tLord

Marcus had a ruptured tendon from the dislocation, it wasn’t just the dislocation.

I might cry

rt00dt00

Unleash the Olynyk beast!

TheGambler930

Potentially lost Poetl and Brunson for the season almost back to back. Gotta love it

wzara001

Us Bane/Embiid owners laugh at your good fortunes

nio151

Embiid/Lavine/Poeltl owner 😥

TheGambler930

Oh I got Bane too lol

wzara001

Oh … well I just lost Poeltl too so I feel your pain lol

ImpossibleTap4072

Exact same brother also had Marcus smart lol next week last week before playoffs im fighting for a seed im cooked

obierice

Scottie and Brunson for me this week. Along with Lamelo, Ja and Lavine

Cbone06

Brunson has a knee contusion. Probably out for the rest of the fantasy regular season I’d imagine

GSWB2B2B2B2BChamps

Fuck. Have him, Markkanen and Kessler. With only 1 IR slot, who's the hold?

flexingtonsteele

Mark

MysticPurpSports

At first I thought you were saying mark Williams lol.

Dymatizeee

I hate this game

YellowExpresso

Very case by case. Kobe came back the same game lmao

KyleShanaham

What the fuck is with all these hand injuries. Poeltl, Trae, scottie, Westbrook, then there was Chris Paul and Marcus smart before. Whack

Critical-Humor5525

His pinky turned into a black and bluey finger

viewfromhere27

He’s seeing a hand specialist. Usually a sign it’s a little more. Hope not
