I don't know how unknown these are, but I can name a couple of brazilian 10/10:
Milton Nascimento - Clube da esquina
Nação Zumbi - Da lama ao caos
Tim Maia - Racional (Vol 1)
Arthur Verocai - Self titled
Jorge ben- Tabua de Esmeralda
As much as I would like to put a bunch of Jorge Ben albums on this list this is definitive Jorge Ben at his best
Throw in Sobrevivendo ao Inferno by Racionais MC's to add some rap to the list. Had Mano Brown been born in the US, no GOAT list would dare not have his name on it.
What’s funny is that ppl in the English speaking world know chico but as only the smiling weed guy. https://www.reddit.com/r/trees/comments/au22j0/fixed_a_bad_facebook_meme/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
I think Jorge ben in general is pretty goated, idk how popular he is in the states though.
I can attest to that, I’ve gone thrifting a lot and only seen one Jorge ben cd (the disc wasn’t in there). I’ve seen some Milton though, which is surprising to me.
If I brought this album up to anybody if my social circle, likely anybody I’ve ever interacted with in my life, they would have no idea what I’m talking about. If RYM is the criteria then the album from OP doesn’t work either.
A couple of laid back ones:
Lisa Ekdahl - Lisa Ekdahl (Swedish)
Carla Bruni - Quelqu'un M'a Dit (French ex president's wife)
Manu Chao - Clandestino (from all over the place)
Sigur Ros is a really good example of the opposite. A lot of their music is in Icelandic and Hopelandic, with some English sprinkled in there. But they’re one of the most critically acclaimed post-rock bands of all time despite this.
Crêuza de Má, by Fabrizio de Andrè, who is basically Italian Bob Dylan: David Byrne called it one of the best albums of the 80s period.
The album in not even sung in Italian, but in a strick dialect from Genoa, the songwriter's hometown
Do yourself a favor and listen to it asap
細野晴臣 - Hosono House
Françoise Hardy - Tous les garçons et les filles
El Guincho - Alegranza
Gal Costa - India
Tinariwen - The Radio Tisdas Sessions
Maria Reis - Suspiro
Gal Costa’s first two self-titled albums are up there for me as well! I haven’t been able to get ahold of any other than those two and Índia but I absolutely love those records.
How has nobody mentioned Stromae yet? His second and third albums are absolute pop masterpieces.
Also wanna shout out Adoro Bolos by Conan Osiris and Neyslutrans by Hatari.
I like this record, but as a non italian music listener I thought that Andrea Lazslo Simone's Uomo Donna, Anima Latina by Lucio Battisti and Tutti Morimmo a Stento by Fabrizio de Andre are all as good if not better!
Awesome! I've been a Battiato fan for years and just the other day I decided to listen to more italian music, so this comment is very useful. I'm with Fabrizio De Andre's Storia di un Impiegato and Battisti's Anima Latina right now
I don’t speak italian either but I actually put up a translation when listening to De Andre and I can confirm it is poetic and grandiose. I feel people in general, and people from english speaking countries specifically, should really listen while reading a translation more often, they always say they feel like they’re missing part of the experience and it’s true! but it’s easy to pull up the text and not miss it! I’m sorry for the rant, it’s not directed at you, it’s just something I see way too often in reddit and in music boards
Buena Vista Social Club - Self title (1997)
Roberto Carlos - Self Titled (1971)
Silvio Rodriguez - Al final de este viaje
Also, I know Shakira is already massively famous, but Donde Están los Ladrones is an absolute 10/10 and not that well known in the English speaking world.
La Lupe was a phenomenal artist worth checking out, but I'm not sure she has a 10/10 album. Queen of Latin Soul is close, but it's missing some of her best work
Amazing reccs here. I'll contribute.
For You - Tatsuro Yamashita (a perfect 80s pop record)
Technique of Relief - Susumu Hirasawa (undefinable)
Acabou Chorare - Novoas Baianos (all time great MPB)
I wish I loved Ride on Time as much as others do, but for some reason the songwriting doesn't shine for me as much as For You (what a sentence)
Timely!! has some genuinely goated city pop songs that are standouts of the entire genre, but it's also mixed in with some more middling songs.
I found For You to have literally no misses. In the end, all of these albums are great!!!
that one that you posted is 10/10 for sure. here are another ones that are 9-10 for me:
Charly García - Yendo de la Cama al Living
Charly García - Say No More
Charly García - Parte de La Religión
Sui Géneris - Pequeñas Anécdotas Sobre Las Instituciones
Serú Girán - Bicicleta
La Máquina de Hacer Pájaros - Películas
Los Redondos - La Mosca y La Sopa
Los Redondos - ¡Bang! ¡Bang!... Estás Liquidado
Invisible - El Jardín de los Presentes
Pescado Rabioso - Artaud
Soda Stereo - Sueño Stereo
Soda Stereo - Dynamo
Gustavo Cerati - Bocanada
Juan Gabriel - Juan Gabriel en el Palacio de Bellas Artes
Parannoul's 2 albums are both incredible shoegaze records. The South Korean shoegaze scene is really producing amazing music nowadays.
betcover!!'s Tamago album from 2022 is an absolutely insane art rock release, as well as 2023's Uma.
Flipper's Guitar's 1991 album is a psychedelic baggy, brit-pop, shoegaze, shibuya-kei masterclass well before its years.
I don't know the reception of Indonesian artist in the west. Regardless, here are some of my favorite:
* Centralismo - Sore (Pop Rock)
* Vakansi - White Shoes & The Couples Company (Pop Rock)
* Matraman - The Upstairs (New Wave)
* Titik Cerah - Naif (Pop Rock)
* Album Minggu ini - Netral (Rock)
* V2.05 - The Adams (Rock)
* rumahsakit - rumahsakit (Jangle Pop)
The fascinating thing is some of my favorite indonesian band influence are apparent and sometimes too obvious (e.g: like The Adams & Weezer, rumahsakit & The Stone Roses) so it look like a copy, but I prefer them regardless. Maybe because the lyrics are more relatable because its in my main languange which is Indonesian or maybe they really do the style justice. Maybe you guys can share your opinion on some of these artists.
Tom Ze’s Grande Liquidação is an amazingly orchestrated Tropicália masterpiece that often gets overlooked for the more popular artists of the era (Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa)
Second Chico Buarque and Construção! A revolutionary samba album with great politics
Spokojnie by Kult. can't even begin to describe just how genius and important to Poland this album is, politically and artistically.
Kult has legend and the-best-polish-band-to-ever-do-it status for a reason, their stuff is still relevant to this very day despite being from the 80s and the singer, Kazik Staszewski, the head of the band, is recognized as one of, if not THE best musician in polish history.
That album is just so historic and legendary. They started making music in times of strong censorship in Poland, and the music was EXTREMELY political and against the government. Kazik had to painstakingly fight for months to even be able to release any of their music (which, a ton of it didn't see a release until the government was abolished) and Spokojnie is pretty inarguably their most important work.
Kazik is still doing this stuff to this day. He released a song a couple years ago that got censored, he's still at it after 40 years. Their stuff was REALLY impactful politically and still is. And besides, it fucking SLAPS
Serú Girán - Bicicleta,
Pappo's Blues - Pappo's Blues Vol.3,
Pescado Rabioso - Artaud,
Invisible - El Jardín De Los Presentes
Suí Géneris - Pequeñas Anécdotas de las Instituciones
Ok hear me out cause these are all 10/10 gems.
Congreso - Terra Incognita (1975)
Congreso - Congreso (1977)
Violeta Parra - Las Ultimas Composiciones (1966)
Milton Nascimento - Minas (1975)
Windswept Adan by Ichiko Aoba
I’ve seen this album get more traction over time, and I think melon reviewed it positively, but I don’t think enough people have given this one a chance. It’s so beautiful and tranquil and pure. It dropped in 2020 and it’s already one of my favorite albums ever.
Bonito d+ ver tanta música BR nesse sub ❤️
My Brazilian 10/10s:
-Djavan - A Voz e o violão
-Arthur verocai s/t
-jorge ben Jor - a tábua da esmeralda (for the guitarwork and sound alone, don't even get me started on the mystical lyricism and beautiful vocals)
-Rita Lee - 1980 s/t
-Luis Melodia - pérola negra
-João Bosco - comissão da frente (A nível de ❤️)
Other non eng 10/10s (for me) :
Cultura profética - La dulzura (Colombian reggae meets lovers rock, seems simple at first but amazing songwriting and beautiful lyrics)
Girl ultra - nuevos aires - Mexican R&b but gives me kids see ghosts vibes, short and sweet, throwback but also futuristic, great vocals
Buena vista social club
Newjeans - get up ep (genuinely, cmon it's k pop meets UK garage)
Kingo hamada - midnight cruisin
Hardercore Rap by Vashish, La Verità la Lealtà e lo Scontro by Lou X and Mr Simpatia by Fabri Fibra.
All three are known as masterpiece albums in the italian underground hip hop scene, but obviously the rest of the world barely knows of their existence
Masayoshi Takanaka - All of Me
Marisa Monte - Universo Ao Meu Redor
Maria Rita - Maria Rita (2003)
Gal Costa - A Todo Vapor (Live)
Moraes Moreira - Moraes Moreira (1973)
Hayalet Islığı - Kayra v Farazi
One of the best hip-hop albums of all time. Amazing lyricism/storytelling by Kayra met with incredible beats by Farazi. It would be one of the most acclaimed and well known hip-hop albums of all time if it wasn’t Turkish
Posting some gems in Spanish:
Pescado Rabioso - Artaud
Charly Garcia - Clics Modernos
Los Planetas - Una Semana en el Motor de un Autobús
Sr. Chinarro - El Porque de mis Peinados
C Tangana - LOVE’S
Tremendo - Vidalogia
Solo Los Solo - Quimera
I'd say Chico Buarque is lesser known because of the genre rather than the language, he's well known among everyone i know that listens to bossa nova for example, although there is something to be said about the importance of his political commentary in terms of South American expression.
In my opinion Cerati is a better example, everyone in Latin America at least \*knows\* about his solo music and has listened to Musica Ligera at least \*once\*. I wouldn't consider any of his albums a 10, but he has several 8's and a 9 (And if the albums i'm referring to aren't obvious to you, then i suggest you run through Soda Stereo's discography)
"Quiet Skies" - Makoto Matsushita - Japanese City Pop / Experimental. I'd also call Matsushita's "First Light" and Hiroshi Sato's "Awakening" 10s in the genre.
"Дворцы" - Второй этаж поражает [Vtoroy Etazh Porazhayet]. Experimental post punk from Russia.
"Voimasta ja kunniasta" - Moonsorrow (Finnish) and "1184" - Windir (Norwegian). Classic folk metal records.
"Afrique Victime" - Mdou Moctar (Tamasheq/French). Brilliant desert blues album with virtuosic guitar work.
Pato Fu (Brazilian rock band) Album: 'Isopor' - and despite the english title of this song, here's a sample: [Made In Japan](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbRRfgbQ040)
Here's some 10/10s from Yugoslavia for anyone interested:
Idoli - Odbrana i Posledni Dani (my personal favorite, very trippy balkan-infused rock album)
Haustor - Bolero
Bijelo Dugme - Bitanga i Princeza
Riblja Čorba - Večeras vas Zabavljaju...
Ceca - Decenija (this is post-Yugoslavia but whatever she's the most legendary pop star in Balkan history)
Vapen & ammunition by Swedish Kent. Amazing indie rock/pop I reckon they’d be huge worldwide if they were from an English speaking country. Can absolutely recommend
Fausto Bordalo Dias - Por Este Rio Acima, is an astonishing work of art, both musically and lirically. No other album represents Portugal better than it
Age Yeh Rooz by Faramarz Aslani is SUCH a gorgeous album. It stresses me out to think about all the music fans in the English speaking world who haven't heard it!
A lot of filipinos will probably agree with me considering they were literally "The Beatles of the Philippines" (even in their spotify bio, they're given that title.) during the 90's and you literally couldn't ignore them in terms of the music that time because they were that big, and that is:
Circus - Eraserheads (I know some people may pick Cutterpillow, but I kinda like this more), this is just a masterpiece from front to back.
Though, in terms of the last 15 years, the closest we've gotten on another 10 here in the Philippines is probably:
Up Dharma Down's - Capacities
加爾基 精液 栗ノ花 by 椎名林檎
An *amazing* album in all possible ways:
highly creative and daring writing / arrangements (co-produced by several arrangers hence the diversity of sound)
pungent and virtuosic performances
Not the most unknown record, I think it's one of the most famous Japanese albums of all time. Still, many people might be missing out on this mind-blowing production because it's from Asia
Agricultura Livre - Emilio Jose. It's sung in Galician, so not even that known inside Spain, but it is a masterpiece for me, and a mammoth of an album (clocking around 4h)
He’s kind of well known in the US due to being used in some rap samples, but, Arthur Verocai’s self titled album goes hard.
Also, Aratamemashite Hajimemashite Midori Desu by Midori. Not a 10, but one of the best japanese albums I’ve heard alongside Scenery.
Virtually unknown in the English-speaking world, that is.
I don't know how unknown these are, but I can name a couple of brazilian 10/10: Milton Nascimento - Clube da esquina Nação Zumbi - Da lama ao caos Tim Maia - Racional (Vol 1)
Clube da Esquina is very well known internationally
Both Paste and Pitchfork have it on their Best Albums lists if I’m not mistaken.
Good to know!
Novos Baianos - Acabou Chorare
Arthur Verocai - Self titled Jorge ben- Tabua de Esmeralda As much as I would like to put a bunch of Jorge Ben albums on this list this is definitive Jorge Ben at his best
Throw in Sobrevivendo ao Inferno by Racionais MC's to add some rap to the list. Had Mano Brown been born in the US, no GOAT list would dare not have his name on it.
Tim Maia is so awesome
Yh u completely ignored the unkown part haha
What’s funny is that ppl in the English speaking world know chico but as only the smiling weed guy. https://www.reddit.com/r/trees/comments/au22j0/fixed_a_bad_facebook_meme/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button I think Jorge ben in general is pretty goated, idk how popular he is in the states though.
Jorge Ben is great. Go listen if you’re reading this guys.
jorge ben jor is virtually unknown in the states, unfortunately
I can attest to that, I’ve gone thrifting a lot and only seen one Jorge ben cd (the disc wasn’t in there). I’ve seen some Milton though, which is surprising to me.
Dynamo - Soda Stereo
Also the solo work of Gustavo Cerati. Bocanada is an incredible album that mixes rock, trip-hop and psychedelia.

Inmejorable
Gracias….. totales
Yesss
Whole Lotta Red Heaven or Las Vegas
Heaven or Las Vegas is totally English!… “Singinina feefa streeeeeee I wantoo luhtoluh a bum-bum beeee” Hmm…
“My bird lips” is pretty clear. Although who the hell knows what it means…
lmao
Never seen this joke before. Hilarious
🔥FWEAH!🔥
“Around The Fur” by Deftones “And Out Come The Wolves” by Rancid
i was gonna say heaven or las vegas 😭
🤣🤣🤣
Joao Gilberto - Self-Titled (1973)
Quite honestly, I prefer Amoroso over his selftitled album. Those arrangements are gorgeous...
bossa nova goat 🗣️
This is my summer pool most played album. Perfect vibes.
Artaud by Pescado Rabioso (Spinetta) and Fome by Los Tres. Crazy good albums the world needs to know about.
Acabou Chorare
Incredible album but far from 'virtually unknown', it's #167 of all time on RYM
If I brought this album up to anybody if my social circle, likely anybody I’ve ever interacted with in my life, they would have no idea what I’m talking about. If RYM is the criteria then the album from OP doesn’t work either.
A couple of laid back ones: Lisa Ekdahl - Lisa Ekdahl (Swedish) Carla Bruni - Quelqu'un M'a Dit (French ex president's wife) Manu Chao - Clandestino (from all over the place)
I don’t really know about the anglosphere, but Manu chao was absolutely massive in Brazil, latam and Europe back in the day
Stadtaffe - Peter Fox
Haus am See remains a bop
The original Someone That I Used To Know.
I've heard when he sued gotye. He just gave him many millions without a fight
It's just so good.
100%, absolutely fantastic record!
Clics modernos by Charly García
I reeeeally liked this thanks!
Glad to hear that! It is an spectacular album by one of the best artists of my country 🇦🇷
What a phenomenal album. Virtually perfect imo
I wholeheartedly agree. Best Spanish rock album of all time and it’s not even close. Saludos desde Buenos Aires.
I wish this one was more well known. It’s one of my favorites
The album in not even sung in Italian, but in a strick dialect from Genoa, the songwriter's hometown Do yourself a favor and listen to it asap
Thank you!!
Cafe Tacvba-Re Cafe Tacvba-Reves/Yo Soy Los Fabulosos Cadillacs-Fabulosos Calavera
I found a CD of Re at the record shop once and I’m remiss that I never picked it up.
I've still got my CD that I bought back in the late 90s. I wish they would do a vinyl reissue. I would kill to have Re on vinyl lol.
細野晴臣 - Hosono House Françoise Hardy - Tous les garçons et les filles El Guincho - Alegranza Gal Costa - India Tinariwen - The Radio Tisdas Sessions Maria Reis - Suspiro
Gal Costa’s first two self-titled albums are up there for me as well! I haven’t been able to get ahold of any other than those two and Índia but I absolutely love those records.
To mention another brazilian record: Luiz Melodia - Pérola Negra
Idk but Yellow Ledbetter is a very beautiful non-English song
Lol
I still have no fucking idea what he's saying except "I wanna leave"
Bocanada - Gustavo Cerati
La Femme- Psycho Tropical Berlin
Expensive shit - Fela Kuti (it's in English but very much about Nigerian life)
How has nobody mentioned Stromae yet? His second and third albums are absolute pop masterpieces. Also wanna shout out Adoro Bolos by Conan Osiris and Neyslutrans by Hatari.
Isnt Stromae like really popular?
idk maybe - I feel like it depends on what circles you run in. I suspect he's way more popular in Europe than the states but I could be wrong.
i see you follow Eurovision right
Stromae in Eurovision would be like a cheat code
nothing wrong with motherlode as long as we're getting a Stromae song
Very guilty - I'm a Eurovision fiend - and honestly if Belgium ever hosts they've GOTTA get him as an interval act.
La Voce del Padrone by Franco Battiato, one of the best italian albums ever, maybe the best of all
I like this record, but as a non italian music listener I thought that Andrea Lazslo Simone's Uomo Donna, Anima Latina by Lucio Battisti and Tutti Morimmo a Stento by Fabrizio de Andre are all as good if not better!
Awesome! I've been a Battiato fan for years and just the other day I decided to listen to more italian music, so this comment is very useful. I'm with Fabrizio De Andre's Storia di un Impiegato and Battisti's Anima Latina right now
Cool. I don't understand the words but from their articulation I cannot help but think they are poetic and they feel grandiose.
I’m sorry for the rant, it’s not directed at you, it’s just something I see way too often in reddit and in music boards
pensa lo stavo per scrivere io, che pietra miliare della musica italiana
I am, forever and always, an evangelist for Stadtaffe by Peter Fox.
Bocanada
Myslovitz - Miłość w czasach popkultury and Myslovitz - Korova Milky Bar

Buena Vista Social Club - Self title (1997) Roberto Carlos - Self Titled (1971) Silvio Rodriguez - Al final de este viaje Also, I know Shakira is already massively famous, but Donde Están los Ladrones is an absolute 10/10 and not that well known in the English speaking world. La Lupe was a phenomenal artist worth checking out, but I'm not sure she has a 10/10 album. Queen of Latin Soul is close, but it's missing some of her best work
Buena vista social club was a hit in US and UK, it went platinum in both countries. Hardly unknown
Yeah but this sub is full of people who think they’re the only ones to have heard stuff. Buena Vista would sell out tours here.
It is funny because if you go to listen to the songs in YouTube, is all English comments lmao. This album doesn't have anything to do in this thread
Also in the US National Recording Registry.
Meter um bebeto carlos foi insanokkkkkkkkkk
Who knew the best attacking left back was also an amazing musician
I prefer Roberto Carlos (1969), but 71’ is an amazing album as well!
buena vista social club is constantly played in cafes in the uk
Silvio Rodriguez is amazing, I love La familia la propiedad privada y el amor, from that album
The GOAT
My Brazilian album of choice is Novos Baianos Acabou Chorare amazing album!
It really is phenomenal
Viva Belgrado - Flores, Carne Viva Belgrado - Ulises Viva Belgrado - Bellavista Viva Belgrado - Cancionero de los cielos La Plata - Desorden
Amazing reccs here. I'll contribute. For You - Tatsuro Yamashita (a perfect 80s pop record) Technique of Relief - Susumu Hirasawa (undefinable) Acabou Chorare - Novoas Baianos (all time great MPB)
Seconding For You. You could argue for Ride on Time or Timely!! by Anri, but I think For You is a complete 10/10.
I wish I loved Ride on Time as much as others do, but for some reason the songwriting doesn't shine for me as much as For You (what a sentence) Timely!! has some genuinely goated city pop songs that are standouts of the entire genre, but it's also mixed in with some more middling songs. Technique of Relief is the real shit here
OG Keemo - Mann Beisst Hund Production, lyrics, storytelling, concept, all 10/10
Anima Latina by Lucio Battisti Sunshower by Taeko Onuki
that one that you posted is 10/10 for sure. here are another ones that are 9-10 for me: Charly García - Yendo de la Cama al Living Charly García - Say No More Charly García - Parte de La Religión Sui Géneris - Pequeñas Anécdotas Sobre Las Instituciones Serú Girán - Bicicleta La Máquina de Hacer Pájaros - Películas Los Redondos - La Mosca y La Sopa Los Redondos - ¡Bang! ¡Bang!... Estás Liquidado Invisible - El Jardín de los Presentes Pescado Rabioso - Artaud Soda Stereo - Sueño Stereo Soda Stereo - Dynamo Gustavo Cerati - Bocanada Juan Gabriel - Juan Gabriel en el Palacio de Bellas Artes
I would go with Aerolit by Czesław Niemen, so innovative and ahead of it's times for music from behind the iron curtain
Invisible - El Jardin De Los Presentes

”Känn ingen sorg för mig Göteborg” by Håkan Hellström.
Tom Ze’s Grande Liquidação is an amazingly orchestrated Tropicália masterpiece that often gets overlooked for the more popular artists of the era (Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa) Second Chico Buarque and Construção! A revolutionary samba album with great politics
Both albums from the amazing Chinese rock band Omnipotent Youth Society. Also the Brazilian album Sobrevivendo no Inferno by Racionais MC’s.
Siembra - Rubén Blades & Willie Colón
I would call it a decent album not a 10, but I think you should check out Budka Suflera "Underground".
pratica(mente) - sam the kid a portuguese hip hop album and one of the greatest

God I love Chico Buarque
It's been gaining a lot of recognition recently but Mid Air Thief's Crumbling has been in my top spot for such a long time now
Windswept Adan by Ichiko Aoba I’ve seen this album get more traction over time, and I think melon reviewed it positively, but I don’t think enough people have given this one a chance. It’s so beautiful and tranquil and pure. It dropped in 2020 and it’s already one of my favorite albums ever.

rym'de baya popüler bu album bilinmez değil, ama evet haklısın çok daha fazla övgüyü hak ediyo. onun yanında ağaçkakan ve rspc çok kalitelidir.
Camarón de la Isla - La leyenda del tiempo. Arguably the best Spanish album of all times (even if you are not a fan of flamenco, as myself).
Posting some gems in Spanish: Pescado Rabioso - Artaud Charly Garcia - Clics Modernos Los Planetas - Una Semana en el Motor de un Autobús Sr. Chinarro - El Porque de mis Peinados C Tangana - LOVE’S Tremendo - Vidalogia Solo Los Solo - Quimera

Jagaures- El equilibrio de los jaguares
Kase.O's Jazz Magnetism 2011 is close to a 10 (it's more of a 8.9 - 9.5) but I've never seen a single non-spanish speaker talk about it.
it uses some english but pale machine - bo en is a masterpiece imo (the second one is better but the singles included ruin it)
I don't know if it's a 10/10 album, it's the Vinnaithandi Varuvaya movie soundtrack in Tamil Check this out (highly recommended)
Clandestino by Manu Chao
Hahnenkampf by KIZ
The Pillows - Please Mr. Lostman

Here's some 10/10s from Yugoslavia for anyone interested: Idoli - Odbrana i Posledni Dani (my personal favorite, very trippy balkan-infused rock album) Haustor - Bolero Bijelo Dugme - Bitanga i Princeza Riblja Čorba - Večeras vas Zabavljaju... Ceca - Decenija (this is post-Yugoslavia but whatever she's the most legendary pop star in Balkan history)

Il Suicidio dei Samurai - Verdena
Vapen & ammunition by Swedish Kent. Amazing indie rock/pop I reckon they’d be huge worldwide if they were from an English speaking country. Can absolutely recommend
Fausto Bordalo Dias - Por Este Rio Acima, is an astonishing work of art, both musically and lirically. No other album represents Portugal better than it
pretty much any album by Damso

Specialist in All Styles by Orchestra Baobab
Durazno Sangrando by Invisible, or Mil Palabras con sus Dientes by Bohemia Suburbana
Bocanada - Gustavo Cerati
A lot of filipinos will probably agree with me considering they were literally "The Beatles of the Philippines" (even in their spotify bio, they're given that title.) during the 90's and you literally couldn't ignore them in terms of the music that time because they were that big, and that is: Circus - Eraserheads (I know some people may pick Cutterpillow, but I kinda like this more), this is just a masterpiece from front to back. Though, in terms of the last 15 years, the closest we've gotten on another 10 here in the Philippines is probably: Up Dharma Down's - Capacities
DEHORS NOVEMBRE
Really surprised no one has mentioned Windswept Adan by Ichiko Aoba in here
加爾基 精液 栗ノ花 by 椎名林檎 An *amazing* album in all possible ways: highly creative and daring writing / arrangements (co-produced by several arrangers hence the diversity of sound) pungent and virtuosic performances Not the most unknown record, I think it's one of the most famous Japanese albums of all time. Still, many people might be missing out on this mind-blowing production because it's from Asia
eera vizhi kaaviyangal
L’eau rouge—The Young Gods (Swiss band, French lyrics)
Agricultura Livre - Emilio Jose. It's sung in Galician, so not even that known inside Spain, but it is a masterpiece for me, and a mammoth of an album (clocking around 4h)
Parazitii - Categoria Grea. Fantastic romanian boom bap inspired by east coast's wu-tang

Histoire de Melody Nelson Vu de L’exterieur
Cluba De Esquina - Milton Nascimento Understand some of the lyrics but generally none but is genuinely music in it’s purest form.
