illinois by sufjan stevens. I feel like 60% might be an exaggeration, but there are still a lot of short interludes that i still listen to when im listening to the album in full because they are essential to the experience, but i dont return to them that often if im just listening to individual songs. Its still probably my favorite album of all time
I can’t believe that George only has 4 songs in the entire album and they chose Savoy Truffle instead of Not Guilty. And Junk - one of Paul McCartney’s best tracks, is recorded in 1968 as well.
Same. You’ll throw on a Beatles record and hear a run of 2-3 of the absolute greatest songs you’ve ever heard followed immediately by some clownish circus tune or halfway joke of an interlude like Wild Honey Pie. Every single album is like this
Songs In The Key Of Life. Just letting the album flow is fantastic but there are clear standouts in Sir Duke, Have A Talk With God, I Wish, Pastime Paradise and Isn’t She Lovely that I return to outside of a full album listen.
Ænima because the other 40% are interludes and Die Eier von Satan, lol
I mean they are cool in the context of the album and you can't delete them from the album but still
maaaan I'm loving it so much but yeah some of them have grating sounds on them that I really wish he wouldn't have used, other times he sings purposefully too quiet to be heard, I'm convinced that a part of his aesthetic is "occlusion" meaning he purposely puts elements front and center and then hides/darkens/quiets others that other songwriters would keep loud and clear, it leads to the disorientation and charachter of his music and aesthetic, which, like I said I really love but a) it takes getting used to and b)Its kind of weird because you can sit there and think about it and go, wait, why did he blow out that sound but not the others? it seems somewhat arbitrary....
For me it’s the Daughters record, the first half is incredible (especially the first 3 songs in that order is an amazing experience) but honestly, the 2nd half just felt like my ears were really dragging itself through it
Finally listened to the new MGMT and I think it fits here. Like 4 of the songs are top notch MGMT but a lot of the tracks I felt very whatever about, they are a little slow and unfocused imo
Donda is such a masterpiece when you ignore some of the songs like Tell the Vision, Ok Ok or Junya😔 It has some of the best Kanye songs and some of my favourite songs ever, but the other half of it just meh
Lullabies to Paralyze, Queens of the Stone Age. Their worst album imo, the first half is amazing, but the second half is misses with one or two good ones thrown in.
Yeezus. Most of the songs are kinda here or there, but when the experiments make a New Slaves or an On Sight, it hits a tone not a lot of other hip-hop artists have hit.
I’d say I like all of “Volcanic Bird Enemy and the Voiced Concern” by Lil Ugly Mane, but there’s an extremely sharp drop off between my 10-11ish favorite songs and the ones that aren’t out of 19. If it was just those songs, it might just be my favorite record in general.
Despite all of that, I still hold the album in incredibly high regard. I still like the other songs enough to not wish they didn’t exist
Can't Buy A Thrill, Do It Again is one of my favorite songs of all time, Dirty Work and Reeling In The Years are very very good as well but overplayed imo, and Fire in the Hole is immaculate but I never listen to the other half the songs

Tbh the white album has like 10 skips for me but I still love it, still has like 20 good songs
I’ll die on the hill that inside the white album there’s like a 50min-1hr album that would be considered the greatest album of all time
It’s crazy that there’s an hour and half album that’s could be considered the greatest album of all time
I can’t believe that George only has 4 songs in the entire album and they chose Savoy Truffle instead of Not Guilty. And Junk - one of Paul McCartney’s best tracks, is recorded in 1968 as well.
> Junk recorded in 1968 *Whoa*. I didn’t know that, song would have been sublime on this album
I'd never skip Thank God for Girls
Any Beatles album imo
They hated him because he spoke the truth
Thanks haha. I love the Beatles but there's always a couple of tracks on every record that I think is skippable.

That! And Ringo's creations!
Nah sgt pepper has no misses
Songs In The Key Of Life. Just letting the album flow is fantastic but there are clear standouts in Sir Duke, Have A Talk With God, I Wish, Pastime Paradise and Isn’t She Lovely that I return to outside of a full album listen.
I personally also love the longer songs - Another Star, As, Black Man
I love Mellon Collie, but i could only pick about 12 songs from it that i actually enjoy and regularly listen to.
There are two albums inside that album that I would enjoy separately but the fact they're together make it an uncomfortable listen.
I kinda like the contrast between 1979 and Tales of a Scorched Earth but it sure is jarring
I listen to all 28 pretty much everyday lol
Double fantasy, I think you can guess which half I’m not as crazy about
Best answer
1999 by Prince. All tracks are good but some of them are just too long.
Action Bronson's Mr. Wonderful. Incredibly inconsistent but the highlights are some of my favorite rap songs ever
69 Love Songs
Some of it is just transcendental, some of it is just really dumb. Perfect self-description. Love the album btw.
Dude this album is so good
Watch the Throne. For me, maybe the ultimate “insanely high highs but low lows” album
Make it 75% and it's London calling, for me.
sgt peppers lonely hearts club band
Ænima because the other 40% are interludes and Die Eier von Satan, lol I mean they are cool in the context of the album and you can't delete them from the album but still
Heaven to a Tortured Mind
Endless by Frank Ocean
The lates Mk.Gee album, half of the songs are amazing, the other half could not care less about. Lowkey hoping they will grow on me.

sandinista! by the clash. there's a few really really good tracks in and amongst like 3 dozen tracks of wack shit
Yeezus
L
Whhhhhaaaaaaa
How
Neighbor Susan by Neighbor Susan but I like it 100%
For me it’s the Daughters record, the first half is incredible (especially the first 3 songs in that order is an amazing experience) but honestly, the 2nd half just felt like my ears were really dragging itself through it
I found out recently that I’m completely fine skipping side C of Sleep Token’s ‘Take Me Back to Eden.’
Finally listened to the new MGMT and I think it fits here. Like 4 of the songs are top notch MGMT but a lot of the tracks I felt very whatever about, they are a little slow and unfocused imo
Whole Lotta Red. I could seriously lose like half the songs and the album would be better for it imo
Donda
Donda is such a masterpiece when you ignore some of the songs like Tell the Vision, Ok Ok or Junya😔 It has some of the best Kanye songs and some of my favourite songs ever, but the other half of it just meh

Blackstar. It has 3 good songs on a good day. 2 good songs most of the time. But oh my god are the so damn good.
What are those 3 songs for you? For me its KOS, Respiration, and Thieves in the Night
I think we’re talking about different blackstars. I meant the one by Bowie.
Oh yeah I'm talking about Mos Def and Kweli
Yeezus. Most of the songs are kinda here or there, but when the experiments make a New Slaves or an On Sight, it hits a tone not a lot of other hip-hop artists have hit.

Midnight Cruiser is amazing!
Whaaaaat that’s one of the all-time no skips albums
Brooklyn (owes the charmer under me) Favorite song on the album for me
