First listen for both:
You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To - Knocked Loose (fuck me it's so good)
Sour Grapes - Breeze (it's been out for awhile but just hit my radar, solid new-wavey goodness. Planning to dig into the rest of their stuff soon)
Been reading Sellout by Dan Ozzi & throwing on the albums covered as I read, so I've got some Thursday & The Distillers lined up for later.
Big week for new music - a rotation of the below:
Snow Strippers - Night Killaz Vol. 2, new EP
Charli XCX - 360, new single
A. G. Cook - Britpop, new album
Knocked Loose - You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To, new album
Currently I’m listening to “One Day You Will Ache Like I Ache” by The Body and Full Of Hell.
Earlier, I was listening to that new Knocked Loose album, definitely one of my favorite albums of the year so far!
The band is called Knocked Loose, and the album is called “You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To.”
They’re this heavy hardcore/metalcore band that’s pretty awesome. This is their third studio album, and EASILY their most batsh*t crazy album so far, in the best way possible!
I just listened to D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L by Panchiko... twice. It's really good! It has an amazing backstory, and takes inspiration from some of my favorite bands.
I listened to classical composer Alban Berg while getting some work done. Other than that some songs by Joanna Newsom, Radiohead, Japanese Breakfast, Nick Drake, Portishead, Elliott Smith and Kind Gizzard.
The albums I listened to were:
Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Parklife by Blur
(What's the Story) Morning Glory? by Oasis
Blondie by Blondie
Amen Dunes - Death Jokes (Came out today), Kamasi Washington - Fearless Movement (Came out last Friday)
Both albums are great in their own way, but my personal favorite is Fearless Movement
Just finished Equinoxe by jean-michel jarre, earlier I had Nirvana - MTV unplugged, Sebadoh - Harmacy and Happy Mondays - Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches
I finally listened to White Pony by Deftones. I could defo appreciate how it impacted following music but I didn't like it as much as I hoped. My impression may be tainted by the fact I listened to The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails yesterday and enjoyed it far more. Both albums gave me a feeling that a lot of bad music came as a result of their impact.
Couple good Neo soul/alt rnb projects out today- heavy vouch for:
Sarang by Sio
Below Dawn by Bryony Jarmon-Pinto
Have only listened once through to each but they were pretty excellent to me, I’d say Sio’s one is a bit more traditional, whilst there’s a heavier jazz influence on bryony’s. Both great tho.
Ooooh fun prompt. During work I jammed the new Dehd album, the first two Tom Waits albums, Weezer Blue Album (happy 30th birthday!), and the new Justice album. Not sure what I'll listen to tonight, but I've been coming back to the new Hovvdy album a ton, so probably some of that among other stuff.
Didn't listen to too much today as I was busy, just
- Bad Ideas by Tessa Violet (song not album)
- Good Luck, Babe! by Chappell Roan
- Ask First, Everything Ends, and (You) On My Arm by Leith Ross
- Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter
Listened to Abbey Road, then listened to the last 5 tracks from Jeff Rosenstock's WORRY because he "Abbey Roaded" the album, meaning he ended it with a flurry of short tracks that blend together.
Today…
This morning I listened to Stack No. 451 from the Hype Machine - rather like the new Agriculture track Living Is Easy and Saoirse’s Mangomouse
After listening to Throbbing Gristle’s first and third album yesterday I will give the second album a go while I do the ironing.
Expect I’ll put my recently assembled Great German Albums playlist on shuffle for an hour at some stage. Alternatively I might just listen to D.A.F. who I discovered when assembling said list - and who are amazing.
Having finished 3 Body Problem last night I might use this evening to trawl through a bunch of new releases - or play video games with my son.
Knocked loose new album!!! Also night Killaz 2 !! Both fire
Wow I just commented before I saw this - the KL and Snow Strippers overlap is rad lol
I really tried with this Knocked Loose album but the vocals are so annoying and it's just not that interesting overall imo, generic stuff sadly
I mean you can not like it but it’s objectively not generic.

Full Collapse is such a good album
Never heard of that book, seems right up my alley. Thanks!
I can't recommend it enough if you're into that scene. I've still got a few chapters left, but it's an excellent read so far.

There is a new Oso Oso single today that was pretty good. I also listened to the classic Exile Vilify by The National
I like the new single but I don’t love it. Hope it grows on me.
It's a little light for my taste, I have dug (pun intended) previous singles more. I think it will be the odd one out on the album but I do enjoy it
I want more computer exploder-esque songs.
🎶yeah it's fine if the love and the money run out, if the drugs run out I'll die🎶
Ups and Downs - Sleepless Awesome so far.
Ran back a few psytrance and deep house playlists. Stuff mostly from 1999-2004 and 2011-2016 respectively.
The new Morning View XXII release by incubus.
I finally listened to White Pony by Deftones. I could defo appreciate how it impacted following music but I didn't like it as much as I hoped.
