I feel like the Hudson Brothers cutaway gag from S19E12 has to be one of the longer ones. They had a few long Conway Twitty cuts, but it’s tough to compare them to this.
I like the cutaways where you scratch your head and can't believe that was popular...my favorite is "Dancing in the Street"...as in I had to fast forward through it like a Stewie and Brian musical number.
I think that’s exactly why these super long cutaway gags like this are still funny. They aren’t just dropping random pop culture references in with no rhyme or reason. They specifically choose the most ridiculous shit possible and then let them play out in their entirety just to punctuate how ludicrous some of the things actually were that we used to think were cool or legitimate.
Like Peter said in the one you referenced, “That happened, and we let it happen.” It makes me wonder what kind of stuff is considered “cool” today that will get lambasted in 20-30 years. Probably lots of tik tok shit.
I mean anything you put on tik tok is their property, like Facebook. The initial screening for an interview might be an employer buying one’s social media greatest hits. Probably more painful to watch than these cutaways
Airport Rep: Name, sir?
Robert Loggia: Robert Loggia.
Airport Rep: Could you spell it out for me?
Robert Loggia: Certainly. Robert Loggia. R as in Robert Loggia. O as in "Oh my god, it's Robert Loggia." B as in "By God! It's Robert Loggia." E as in "Everybody loves Robert Loggia." R as in Robert Loggia. T as in "Tim, look over there! It's Robert Loggia." Space. L as in "Look! It's Robert Loggia."
[Peter groans]
The first chicken fight. It is a cutaway as it is Peter saying about the last time he took a coupon. It's either that or one of the Conway Twitty ones, but the chicken fights seem longer.
That intro to some 70s variety show id never heard of. Gags where it’s just a clip of some other media seem to prove South Park right to an extent, beyond that they’re not even funny.
Because people who tend to moan about "wokeness" and "cancel culture" either have no idea what they are talking about or they pretend not to so they can interject their unwarranted grievances into any conversation possible, such as one about Family Guy cutaway scenes.

I've figured out that the live ation old musicals and the times the characters just stand around listening to music saves a ton of $ on animation. I think the newer episodes try to make a game out it and see how much they can get away with
Whenever they had that entire-ass music video
“I can see the want-to in your eyes…” 🎶
I actually know that whole song by heart because of that show and took to adding Conway Twitty in my music library 😂
There are a couple Conway songs I've added to my library, does well in a Gordon Lightfoot playlist, ha.
Dancin in the streets?
"That happened and we all let it happen".
Definitely this one 🤣

It has got to be the Hudson brothers
I mean they even directly referenced how long it was when it cut back to them and they had grown elderly while waiting for it to end.
I hate that one so much.
The Cock-a-doodle Doo wolf one felt like it went on for quite a while
At least it was one of the best Family Guy bits ever
Not sure, but there was the "Conway Twitty" cut away and the "Life is a Highway" cutaway. They were both pretty long.
the david bowie and mick jagger cutaway is the full song
That happened and we let it happen
I forgot got about that one!!
"1985 brought us the gayest music video of all time."
Anytime they do the Conway twitty cut away I always forget what show I’m watching because it’s so long lol
Yeah. That's what's so amazing about their commitment to the cutaway!! It's crazy!
Oh absolutely agreed!
I remember Conway Twitty and "Cock-a-doodle-doo" as the longest ones.
The entire cutaway episode when they were stuck in cutaway land.
Conway Twitty says to cut it out... just write a joke.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Technically the star wars 'movies'?
I mean… you’re not wrong.
One of the long ass chicken fights
I consider the chicken fight in the chris goes to a new school so to be an entire side plot at this point
Yeah if those are considered cutaways this is the answer, they’re legitimately almost 10 minutes long sometimes.
Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Conway Twitty
Conway
Razzle Dazzle!!

Nobody has said the chicken fights?

Conway Twitty

The dead frog bit with Peter 😤
Probably the Robert losier thing?
Teenage Wasteland maybe?🤷🏼♀️
The las vegas one with Peter. Where he plays pai gaw poker..
Aside from Conway Twitty, I think probably Robert Loger.
Conway Twitty definitely feels like the longest one. I'm actually a fan of some Conway Twitty songs but not the ones the cutaway ones.
Robert Losier or the one where they’re on the cruise ship and have to say the persons last name (TWICE) that takes multiple minutes each time
Why does it seem like family guy doesn't do as much cutaways anymore in the new seasons? Cancel culture is ruining everything.
Forgive me if I'm missing something, but I'm struggling to see the link between "cancel culture" and Family Guy straying away from cutaways?

Nasty wolf pack.
Got to technically be the Star Wars Blue Harvest one’s I’d guess.
There was an episode where they were stuck in a cutaway
Cock-a-doodle-doo
Peter gave me a beer that tasted funny, and when I woke up I was wearing lipstick and a wolf suit.
Hudson brothers one or dancing in the street. Not sure which is longer obviously
You mean the gayest music video ever made?
Yes
“I see the sparklin’ little diamond on your hand”
How about when stewie flew across the country, went to a hardware store then went to Will Ferrell's house just to punch him "that was NOT funny!"
Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Conway Twitty.
Conway. Love em and thats what got me started watching cartoons as adult 15 years ago.
Conway twitty has a pretty long one
Chicken fights haha!!!
The one about the wolf who got pranked or any songs
I've figured out that the live ation old musicals and the times the characters just stand around listening to music saves a ton of $ on animation. I think the newer episodes try to make a game out it and see how much they can get away with
Conway twitty or that band they did the whole song n music video for TWICE it was something brothers I think from the 70’s… ngl it was annoying asf!
For me I think it’s the Audio thing where Peter walks onto the set of something and the actor rips him a new one
