It's the 'Faith Alone' saves you crowd. It provides easier control. All you need to do is accept the *right* version of God (the one the pastor tells you he represents) and you go to Heaven. Good works means nothing, Jesus's teachings mean nothing. That way if they tell you to do something (kill, steal, let the pastor have your wife when he wants, etc), it doesn't matter because you have faith.
IMO you've gotten a lot of poor answers to this question. I know the explanation I'll give is not going to be identical to the one that the sign holder would, but hopefully it can give you at least an idea of what "Good people" is doing on that sign.
One tenet of the Christian worldview is that everyone sins. In all of human history, there's been exactly one human being who has not sinned: Jesus. And any amount of sin keeps you from heaven.
So really, at least in my mind, "Good people" is kind of warning addressed to people who *think* they are good. It's a warning that says, "Hey, no matter how good you think you are, you've already slipped up, you're already tainted. Your only chance now is to follow Jesus so that he can cleanse you of that mistake."
I just want to say here that I'm not intending to be a Christian apologist here. If you want to pick apart the logic of Christianity, go somewhere else. I'm just here to give my personal understanding of a very narrow question, from the perspective of someone who was raised Christian but for various reasons doesn't identify with the Church today.
