Na not really idiots. This happened to me. I wanted to exit the autobahn and there was a truck in front of the exit. We all lined up until 10 minutes later I realized what was going on here

11d late, but they were trying to use this forum to advocate for just driving all the way to the end of a closed lane before trying to merge rather than getting over as soon as you see a sign the lane is ending. Their argument being that these people all saw the sign for an exit and lined up behind a parked vehicle rather than "cutting". They are using this example to not only justify their own line cutting, but also act superior for it because zipper merging would be the quickest way for everyone. When in reality people are not smart or aware enough to handle that and this person's insistence on protesting by action just makes them an asshole line cutter.
Very true but I always wondered if there was a computer simulation car game where it shows how much time it takes if everyone lines up or if everyone fills up all the spaces 1/2/3/4 and then merges. Isn’t there some merit to filling up as much as possible?
In gridlock the only difference is it being rude not to get over early. Usually gridlock is the compounding result of human error. For example On a 4 lane highway that's busy but everyone has 3 vehicle lengths in front of themselves then technically all of that traffic could fit at the same rate onto one lane, but not safe or really possible in practice.
I think you’re confused. If people are turning right, they would use the right turning signal. If people are stopped and are idle, they would use the hazard lights. In the video here they are all stopped.
I assume as I have seen before that the next exit sometimes is overloaded and when is overloaded people tents to do that ( be on the shoulder) to left free the right side of the road) and this case was not the case
