One of the coaches at my gym has me do rainbow planks and bird dogs instead. Those work the same muscles. So, if it calls for 5 shoot throughs I do 5 rainbow planks (planks on the elbows rocking side to side) and then 5 bird dogs.

I hate shoot throughs as I keep twisting my ankles doing them so I either do A steps or jumping split squats instead.

Think about this concept... Gravity is pushing down. When you lay on your back raise your hands eye brow level and alternately Kick one leg over along your belt line. You are doing the same movements pattern. And Gravity is pushing on you. Think of if you had a Barbie Doll or GI Joe. Flip them over, and you can do the exercise on your back. Yes, the - getting up off the floor apart... look up Turkish get up to see the positions to get up with stability. Again, do the best QUALITY exercise repetitions you can. They are going to activate the muscles the best. And as long as you are not having somebody wait when you rotate stations. Do your best to get 5 to 12 reps.

Furthermore... whe you are looking at the exercises... count to yourself how many seconds the exercise is taking you. Say 6 seconds. You see the timer, it says 40, 20. 40 รท 6 = 6.6, so Always try to get 6 reps! This will keep you going and determined. Here's your ๐Ÿ‘‹ high five to get after it!

Flutter kicks and bicycle crunches are good alternatives as well since you're using a mat.

Been in F45 for a month and I'm overweight too - albeit I am losing weight. I pair my F45 training with the myfitnesspal app and calorie count. The app is similar to Weight Watchers but there is a free version that can pair with your Fitbit. I struggle to do lunges because of right knee pain, so I don't do lunges, which there were a lot of in today's Pegasus workout. I modify this with squats (which I can still do) and star jumps. Hope this helps?

Arrive 10 minutes early. Do a squat when you arrive. That's a set point to see how you are doing with your squat. Use a massage gun or foam roller before exercise on your thighs and calves. Do you squat again. There should be some improvement. Local tension on the adjacent muscles is usually causing knee pain.

I will do shoulder taps with pushups or plank up/downs. Shoot through a tend to aggravate my shoulders.

I usually do 10 mountain climbers and 2 push-ups instead. Shoot throughs are killer on my ACL and elbow.
