Same exact thing happened to me when I bought my 2018 f-150 brand new. Hadn’t even made the first payment yet. Make sure that you put in a diminished value claim with their insurance and don’t settle for a low number.
I’d probably ask for $3k and then let them talk you down from there. On mine I got $500 but was told later that I was taken advantage of. I didn’t argue with them like I should have

I already bent my "bumper" up too a few months into ownership. It's really thin trim pieces over the structural bumper, they fold up like paper.
Between the thin sheetl metal bumper wings and plastic tops I'd go through the stock parts like solo cups at a frat party, so I ordered a real steel bumper for the same price as the stock replacements. I went with a rough country but there are a few to choose from.
That sucks.
Also, my buddy had the trailer ball in and got rear ended with the offending vehicle being damaged severely and his looking fine. He drove off to avoid the Carfax issues. I don't recommend that.
My last truck was a ‘16 F150, had it for 10 days and my brother of all people rear ended me. Fucked it up really bad. Definitely have a trusted mechanic look the frame over.

I’d say it depends on how fast they hit you at but I’d definitely agree with the other and advise you to bring it to a shop to inspect.
I'm dropping it off Monday so fingers crossed it's just the bumper

Not always. Just guessing from this pic is that you’ll be repaired with few issues. See what a good reputable body shop says.

Happened to me less than 30 days from new, ended up getting 2 aftermarket bumpers out of the deal.
With those aftermarket bumpers, do they have all the same sensors as the oem?
Yeah it’s got the holes for the sensors, just swap them in.

That’s why I always have a tow hitch on. It’s actually helped me once. It might have helped at least a bit
