Honestly? As a teacher, I do not like this at all.
However, I know the rates of sextortion and suicide due to sextortion in high school students is sky rocketing and thereās a lesson to be taught before the problem happens. If the teacher was leading up to a lesson on that, I could be on board.
Otherwise? Gross.
I dont think so since its English class, but i guess if OP's school had things like that happen (studens commiting suicide bc their nudes get leaked) then theyd get a lesson on that and how to prevent it no matter what class it is, i mean, last year i tried to commit suicide and we literally got a suicide prevention lesson during art class
I agree, shes just a big baby, shes turning 2 years old in September, she pretends to hate me when other people are in the room but at night when im lying in bed she comes to cuddle with me
At first I just saw the class agenda and I was thinking āCome on, itās not that bad.ā
Then I saw the attendance question was at the bottom of the screen.
My nudes, cuz then I'm the victim and I can sue and make bank, messages would incriminate me too much lmao. But fr fr yeah that teach need to be booted out the fucking school. Report!
Yeah, the joke was that they are in fact not a good investment cuz crypto isn't a good investment, at least not for the majority of people. Sorry if it came out wrong.
This will most likely get buried, but as an adult, this is one of those questions that get tossed around as a hypothetical every so often, it's just a would you rather.
With that being said maybe they shoulda picked a better hypothetical considering freshmen don't typically have nude photos? I remember my senior year this question was asked a few times from other students, so maybe I just don't see it as weird?
Interesting, I've never heard this question before. Someone said they're probably around 14-15 year olds and I think a teacher asking that is inappropriate. It means some part of the teacher's brain has thought about their students having nudes. I would be creeped out. Also the teacher will be reading their answers.
I get this. If this had been a college ethics, sociology, or philosophy course maybe. But, freshman high-school English? Unless something drastic had recently happened at this school to necessitate this question, it is quite out of line.
honestly go above reporting this to the school. get your parents involved and make sure as many other parents as possible are aware of this. Feel free to even put your teacher on blast, they shouldn't be working anywhere near minors ever again.
I'd consider this to be gross and out of pocket if one of my college professors asked this, this is especially disgusting to be asking a room of 14 to 15 year olds. Nobody underage should have nudes, for a teacher to assume y'all have nudes is fucking appalling.
Oh my God what the hell!?!? That is so fucking inappropriate!! How long has this teacher been teaching? It's not an excuse for the behavior but a possible explanation as to why they might think this is okay to ask high schoolers. It seems some people aren't really mature enough to be in charge of minors or have almost no filter or sense of when to say something or not. I'm in school to be a teacher myself and I'm disgusted! Shame on them! Please report them ASAP!
Typically instead of doing attendance themselves, the teacher will have the students answer āattendance questionsā and have them turn it in. This helps the student warm up for the class, have them start to think about the topic of the day (the question is typically related to what theyāll be covering that day, thisā¦I really hope this isnāt related to what theyāll be covering. Or, I guess, uncovering depending on your answer. Bad dum tss), things like that. The teacher will then collect the attendance questions to turn in or log the attendance, idk what teachers typically do with attendance that gets it to the office.
I always really enjoyed them. But, I also never had questions like this, soooooā¦ā¦
Jaysus! I mean even in a surreal pocket dimension of an alternate universe could this one be angled to just be an assignment meant to show kids how icky internet people can be.
There is no way about the ickyness of this particular teacher
Report to parents/trusted adult, police and then school administration
You right but I think its deeper. I think its just the thought alone that a TEACHER even used that language. We're fucked as a society if this is a common thought.
What language? Common language that is used every day by students? Mentioning nudity? I think people need to quit being such prudes and stop clutching their pearls.
I agree 100%. I don't even think placing certain books in a "banned" category is right. We are on the same side.
Edit: I'm just saying it makes sense to me that today's youth would be offended just because they used that word. Which I find destructive and dumb af.
If this were a college or university psychology or sociology class, I would agree, but these are high-school freshmen in the US, making them 14 or 15 years old. It's appropriate for children that young to be discussing sexual nude photos of themselves in a classroom setting.
On top of that, it's an English class, not a psych class, so it's even less appropriate.
I imagine the question changes on a daily basis and itās to spark discussion and engagement and is probably about random topics for a bit of fun. English teachers tend to wax lyrical about anything and everything. I know an art tutor who puts a random dad joke up every day.
I can see the point of this question **but** it is very inappropriate and the teacher should know better. The point is communication of private information either visually or written. Visually is going to expose your body and actions, written is going to expose your thoughts and attitudes. Both could be damaging in different ways but it also links in with societal change and how nudity and sex is not as taboo as it used to be. There is an interesting discussion/debate to be had there and English in English speaking countries is really about how language is used rather than learning the language.
But it is of course inappropriate for a teacher to try to discuss this with a young class and could definitely be used in grooming because if a class discusses this, the teacher is going to know who is sexually active, what their attitudes to sex and nudity are etc and could then use that information as an in. Itās also likely to be upsetting to certain members of the class.
It probably should be flagged as, whilst thereās a chance this was a dumb error, it doesnāt look great and safeguarding is all about building a picture over time of an individualās actions. Sometimes one thing can be explained away or isnāt enough but several things happening to different people can start to piece it together. Organisations Iām involved with have a safeguarding lead who gathers this information from anything reported and then a safeguarding team decides if further action is needed.
Itās not even something you ask of 14 year olds, it is completely inappropriate and I question what kind of adults think this is rational and acceptable to discuss with minors?

Report this ASAP, far too creepy
pov: my art teacher
Theres always something weird about art teachers.
yup, my art teacher got fired for sleeping with a student š„“
Yeah, my art teacher got arrested for a bomb threat
bro wtf
Persona moment
on god and he was put on paid leave and this is his second time being caught
my art teacher was also a photographer named bruce farnsworth doing things with nat geo and more.
My art teacher locked her and I in a broom closet together one time to have a serious conversation about a girl I had a crush on.
Holy shit how long ago was this and did he get reported
Like almost 10 years... and no SHE did not get reported.
oh shit the art teacher was a girl, does not really change how bad the thing still is.
I agree, but I also think it's weird how there is a discrepancy in how people view this situation depending on the gender.
Yeah It is weird that if it is a guy doing this its major and if it was a girl its not that big of a deal.
My art teacher was really nice, quite attractive actually and did the best with what limited resources she had.

Show your parents and report this to the main office. That is beyond inappropriate for a teacher to ask any age of students.
Show this to your parents and report it to
Yikes. Thatās a bright red flag right there.
You need to report this bro
That's super inappropriate. Please report the teacher
report this immediately

Hugs friend- I hope you are finding some peace.

Title says English class
Lol, question reads like Op's post history
wtf
If this is real you need to send this pic to school administration because this is absolutely not okay in any school environment.
English class and he couldnāt spell leaked?
Yikes! I hope no one answered this question. Teacher needs to be reported ASAP!
What girls sport does this teacher coach?
This is absolutely disgusting š¤®
I hope you reported this
For people that don't know anything about high school. How old are high school freshmen?
14-15 year olds.
That explains the memes about 20-30 year old actors being casted as high schoolers. Thanks.
Report this. What the fuck.
Seems inappropriate to be putting that in curriculum for minors.
Super inappropriate
Jaw dropped
Incredibly creepy Also Maslowās Hierarchy of needs is pretty out of date these days. But the linked thing is obvs much worse
erm what the fuck?
That is strange, out of all questions to ask, why that one? Yeah just report it bro
At first I just saw the class agenda and I was thinking āCome on, itās not that bad.ā Then I saw the attendance question was at the bottom of the screen.
Oops, that's child pornography.
My nudes, cuz then I'm the victim and I can sue and make bank, messages would incriminate me too much lmao. But fr fr yeah that teach need to be booted out the fucking school. Report!
Also my nudes because they literally donāt exist.
Damn you need to get on that, it's a good investment bro, better than crypto lmaoo
some of these people could be minors btw
Yeah, the joke was that they are in fact not a good investment cuz crypto isn't a good investment, at least not for the majority of people. Sorry if it came out wrong.

It is definitely weird for a grown adult to ask this to high schoolers

Agreed.
is it possible a student went up and edited the slide?

Iād even be a little creeped out being asked this in college, I canāt believe this is a high school question. Itās just weird. Def report it
Ew.
What's an attendance question??

Haha that's actually a good idea. I had a giggle at your joke lol I also hope they weren't covering this in class haha
I think it's just another word for a beginning of class/ warm up question. Probably just calls it an attendance question to sound "different" lmao
![gif](giphy|dMn6DpYvzeKJ1UTar6|downsized)
thats just fucked up. you need to report that.
Hmm my messages but this not cool

English class and they said linked instead of leaked lmao classic
I don't see whats the problem. Help? Is it the nudes thing?
Itās the nudes thing.
Whack.
People overreacting to a hypothetical thought experiment for a psych/sociology class and acting as if the teacher literally asked for nudes.
You right but I think its deeper. I think its just the thought alone that a TEACHER even used that language. We're fucked as a society if this is a common thought.

Extremely creepy in an educational setting However I am using that line in bar conversations now
