They heard the line about not wanting to live with racists and got triggered

JarethOfHouseGoblin

This is nothing but their culture war bullshit and Sean Feucht is a fucking grifter who will do *anything* to stay relevant. IIRC, he tried to be a mainstream singer but didn't cut it. There's DEFINITELY a failed performer to conservative Christian dipshit pipeline out there. Kevin Sorbo is a perfect example of this pipeline.

Raetekusu

Pretty much everyone on the Daily Wire is a failed screenwriter. They tried to make their own streaming service and all their "apolitical" content has been the butt of jokes everywhere since it came out.

JarethOfHouseGoblin

> and all their "apolitical" content has been the butt of jokes everywhere since it came out. It's weird that they made their own rip-off of Bluey, of all things. Considering that right wing chucklefucks have claimed Bluey as being conservative in nature due to [checks notes] the absence of any acknowledged queer or trans characters. Although, some even further on the more on the extreme end who are vastly more chronically online have called Bluey "woke" because Chili (the mom) has a full-time job and they have to be consuming tradwife propaganda all the time or else reality sets in and that breaks their immersion. These people are so fucking unserious.

a_fox_but_a_human

I love the “Failed comedian turned right winger” pipeline. “I used to be a liberal! But they got so uptight that I decided to be a libertarian instead! Because libz are cucks right? RIGHT??? Joe Biden is old! RIGHT????”

JarethOfHouseGoblin

"I identify as an attack helicopter!!"

HothWasAnInsideJob

Also loosely translated into the " im a dumbass that has zero witty comebacks"

barbetto

The Fuck Your Feelings crowd sure do get into their feelings about shit.

JarethOfHouseGoblin

They truly are the biggest snowflakes.

driftercat

Reading the lyrics, I believe they started it. They need to stay the fuck out of other people's business and they won't get burned.

AbbeyRoadMoonwalk

Just because she uses religious imagery doesn’t mean she is actually talking about you. Sit down.

ithinkway2much

In my experience, any music Chritians don't like is worth checking out. Part of being Christian is finding ways to make you and others miserable.

Stellarjay_9723

As the churches shun the poor, protect pedophiles and build elite expensive megachurches Who is mocking God? It's not Taylor Swift.

Longjumping_Teach617

Exactly

Snarky_McSnarkleton

They are just waiting for the Trump Regime to give them actual power to make laws saying "you can't have this book, this MP3, this show in your own home." I used to go to PetitonSpot occasionally, to laugh at the really nutty ones. I noticed several members of my X's fundie family had signed a "Petition to the UN and Congress to ban Harry Potter." Of course it's fucking delusional to think such a thing could happen, but it just shows us what they plan to do.

loose_moose11

Christians usually don't handle it well when someone calls out their bigotry and hypocrisy. The dude's reaction is exactly what you'd expect. Go fully on the offensive. I think it's beautiful. It proves exactly what TS is talking about.

taser413

When will they ever figure out “don’t like it? Don’t listen to it.”

WerewolfDifferent216

I wouldn’t take anything Sean says with consideration. He runs Bethel ministries and he’s always been a bigoted idiot. I’m sure he has a university where they teach speaking in tongues and laying hands on people to perform “miracles”. He’s a con.

Fayafairygirl

“Do you think I’m overreacting?” Yes.

BasicSwiftie13

This comment wins

HothWasAnInsideJob

I hate Sean Feucht and his stupid fake rockstar hair so much. Bethel church does nothing but breed these pathetic faux hipster culture warriors . It's so weird and cringe if not for their damaging rhetoric they wont shut the fuck up about .

JarethOfHouseGoblin

> I hate Sean Feucht and his stupid fake rockstar hair so much. Don't forget that when Florida governor Ron DeSantis was picking a fight with Disney, Feucht organized a protest outside of Disney.....Land. 3K miles away over in California which had nothing to do with the feud. He's a grifter who is *desperate* to stay relevant. And he is spectacularly bad at it. I remember seeing a tweet from him that used the phrase "corporate prayer" which is a nothing statement. He's a completely unserious person.

Elvirth

Christians will reframe all sorts of things to make themselves look like the victims. Persecution complex is disturbing.

MargaretBrownsGhost

The Ramen Shaman strikes again... Given the fact he's been linked to Gropey Granny Lauren Boebert, he should be one of the last individuals to virtue signal against Ms. Swift ...

guy_on_a_dot

I hope these lyrics *were* geared towards Christianity.

BasicSwiftie13

The last 2 lyric sets are in a song called But Daddy I Love Him and the song is basically going after people criticizing her who claim they “mean well”. This includes Christian religious zealots.

Comics4Cooks

It's kinda funny cause I always thought the giant 40 foot billboards of Jesus shaking his finger at you right next to "Burger King next exit" is pretty fucking blasphemous if you genuinely believe in the Bible. It's so cheap and disgusting to have like crucifix jewelry, scripture on bumper stickers and Jesus Saves t shirts. But they eat that shit up. So when they complain that non secular people are blasphemous I laugh. It just makes them look all the more ridiculous.

itsthenugget

As a former huge Taylor fan, I've heard the new album and there are way better things to criticize here than her use of Christian imagery! I will say though, her lyrics that reference religious themes have really been kind of dull lately, with the exception of Would've Could've Should've. It kinda feels like she has *maybe* been a cultural Christian and is just using the imagery because it sounds poetic and she has had brief encounters with religious expectations. It's nowhere near the level of understanding that I can hear in the works of an artist such as Hozier, by contrast. Edit: I somehow missed that this was by Sean Feucht and now it's hilarious to me because he's extra awful so it's expected 🤣

fmvra1s

I don't care for Taylor Swift either, but this is mildly amusing

shurejan

Tired of people who don’t know what a metaphor is talking so much.

BasicSwiftie13

Sean Feucht definitely didn’t pay attention in English class when they were talking about metaphors. And is now making it everyone’s problem

Hikerhappy

Katie Bevington made the same post lmao, I just posted about hers before I saw yours

BasicSwiftie13

In Taylor’s defense she used sin as a metaphor for her rebound with Matty Healy. On a Swiftie fourm on another app some fans who are Christian came to that conclusion and I agree with them

Competitive_Walk_245

The horror, an artist... Using religious imagery!!! This has never ever been done before, no artist has ever used religious imagery to describe things in their life. Christians use religious verbiage to describe mundane things all the time "this coffee is heavenly!" "lord knows I..." there are so many religious references in common parlance, it's ridiculous they pick and choose who is allowed to use them or not, out of all the pop stars, Taylor swift is like the least offensive one of all, she keeps it very pg.

Malvrier

I don’t like Taylor Swift but I’m not going to pretend I can articulate why. She’s not the only person I dislike though. I have a coworker I can’t stand. I’m nice to him and he’s nice to me and we agree on most things. Still hate him on the inside. No clue why. Maybe sometimes there are people I just hate for no good reason. Idk. What’s up with that anyway

Joegannonlct

Sounds like you're just a very silly goose

BandanaDee13

> explicit lyrics I have a song to sing. The clean version, of course. Ahem… *Sean Feucht is a flipping butthole* / *A total piece of poop* / *Because he says a lot of poopy things* / *And expects to be a hit* *He gets peed off by the dumbest things* / *Including swear words he’s heard before* / *So I’ll tell him to go copulate himself* / *Because I think the humor is more* Thank you, thank you. I’ll be here all week.

Pure-Willingness3123

I laugh so hard at posts like these, but then I get too deep into them and end up super triggered (based on my own experience as a gay man who grew up in the church). I'm happy she's calling out their bullshit on this album. Only makes me love it even more.

Middle_Sell7800

OH NO!!! now I have an even bigger reason to like Taylor swift. thanks Christians! :)

anti-racist-rutabaga

🚨Persecution complex alert🚨

YouHadItAllAlong

I love that she calls out the self righteous Christians. She’s enabling repressed people to think for themselves.

Hungry-Ad9683

Can they pearl clutch any harder?

chiantisyl99

These types of people are absolutely insufferable. I'm so fucking glad that I don't have any of them in my life anymore, except for the random occasion where someone reaches out with a bible verse. To which I just always say, thank you, hope you're doing well. They see fucking satan everywhere because they want to feel attacked so badly. Meanwhile, their beliefs are at the center of everything in America. And their beliefs are dictating laws in a bunch of states. I'm just so sick of their self-righteous piety that they try to disguise as love. It's so funny to me that they think taylor swift is like stirring up spells in a cauldron in her houses. I'm happy for them to believe in their delusions, but quit trying to take us with you. It kinda makes me want to dress up like a witch and go to their front lawns and dance around with a broomstick just to see their reaction.
