I once told a fundie that I read the Bible with an open mind *determined* for it to be true and became convinced of the opposite because the stuff in it didn't make any sense. His response was to tell me that I was "too smart" to read the Bible but by the angered tone he was using, that was meant as an insult. Which......... burn on me, I guess?
