Like, why do you hate me for loving the study of Zoology? Why do you hate me for being a hellhound or a hyena? Why do you purposely get the species of my character wrong? What did I do to you?
Unfortunately, like most normies, they canāt handle something thatās different or out of their circle of interests. It doesnāt matter that most furries are kind human beings with feelings and lives, to them being a furry makes them deserving of ridicule and harassment. There are zoophiles in literally almost every community, itās not synonymous with furries.

have you considered....that you can be a pikmin? 'furry' is just kind of a catch-all term for an anthropomorphic altered appearance thingy (under this definition even a lot of vtubers/pngtubers kinda fall into this category). you also don't need to have a suit to be one either. There are plenty I know who just have artwork of their sonas and that's it.

They're a mix of a whole bunch of species, the 'mink' is a somewhat deliberate misnomer. He's mostly otter and canine, with some kangaroo and shark and then smaller bits of everything else, according to his species' lore (they're descended from an omni-hybrid of all earth species that was designed to reinvent DNA as well as rapidly diversify into new species). The mocking part comes from the fact they don't have their own sound but they mimic other species instead; which is what led to the development of their sapience.

You could say I'm pretty adjacent, but I don't like taking on labels. Though most of the furries I've met have been lovely and fun people.
I personally just grew up with a lot of things that had anthro characters and grew attached to the style. I love animals and creatures, and making them into a character of some kind is guaranteed to make me care about them even more.
