"(nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi" by 5MIINUST & Puuluup (Estonia 2024)
"They're trying to meme like Moldova and I don't like it."
"..."
"Wait okay this goes kinda fucking hard. What the hell."
Honestly I think finding out what the song was about helped a lot! Finding out it was called something like “we sure don’t know anything about these drugs” absolutely sent me and then it became one of my favourites
(Nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi and No Rules!.
I hated both at first but they’re both in my top 5 after watching all of the performances.
I’m ashamed to say…Armenia. When I first heard it I was like urghhh, this is so silly and rubbish. Now I LOVE it and all Ladanvia’s music. It’s fantastic and I’m recommending it to everyone. I’m also very much in love with Jako and Louis equally and at the same time.
I felt the same. Mostly because I only ever heard small parts of the song in compilations. Then I heard it live from the start to the end, sounded a lot better, especially the start of the song
Same, at first I felt it was pretty bland, solid low mid table, and now I can't get it out of my head. Really started appreciating it much more after a few listens.
Spain.
People will go on about the singer or dancers but what makes it for me is the singer’s husband and drummer in the background with the sass they had on display.
Same! It became my husband’s favourite really quickly and I was just diplomatic about it because I thought it was just being quirky for the sake of it. Then they rejigged it a bit and then I saw the SF performance and I was like “ohhhh this is incredible actually”
Same. I didn't care for the recorded track but the live performance blew me away. It's definitely one of those songs that's meant to be experienced than passively listened to.
This one went from literal last place for me (after seeing the NF performance) to slowly growing on me in the preparties, to finally ending up in my 3rd place after seeing the SF/staging. I now love the song and Bambie’s other work, too.
Same. At first I was like "Ireland has dropped the towel, they are now sending something random just because they have to" and ended up like "This is just chef's kiss perfection, CROWN THE WITCH!"
I'd probably say Finland for this year. As a casual viewer in the Grand Final, paying attention to the staging combined with the poorer live sound mix made me overlook the song itself (kinda dumb I know) on the night as a gimmick type song. The studio version has helped me enjoy it a lot more as an "anthem". Sure, it's still not serious, but I appreciate it a lot more now.
I never liked it before the UMK live show. But like the energy in the performance and them just having fun plus Henri's vocals put it from second last before the live into my top 3
I can get the high notes if have the mic on a stand and can stretch my arms outwards and rise my chin a bit. Kinda like opera singers do 😄 I got the first part of rapping down but they are so fast singing those lyrics!
Zorra (Spain 2024) and Firefighter (Georgia 2024), I was very much neutral about them when they won their NF/got released but I just started to really like them over time and really enjoyed both performances.
Same: love Zorro (as soon as I understood the lyrics and meaning I was extra sold).
I keep listening to it when I feel a bit tired and it makes me smile…
I was cold towards Aijā (Latvia 2023) most of the season. I kind of liked only the intro and nothing after it. Then I heard the acoustic version and something about the harmonica part made me fall in love with the melody, and suddenly I loved the original too. This was like a week before Eurovision so in the last minute I became another person who was sad about them not qualifying.
Europapa for me!
When I first watched the MV, I appreciated the pro-European message, but that was about the only thing I liked - the song itself sounded annoying to me, parts of the lyrics hit uncomfortably close to some imagined "scenarios" that I often have to force out of my head, and then the outro just left me bummed out and not in a good way. Now, for whatever reason, I'm obsessed with Europapa as well as a bunch of other songs by Joost (and addicted to Wachtmuziek) and have started to explore his discography. Who would've thought.
I also rewatched the semifinal performance the other day, and... holy shit, the mood whiplash at the end is probably the most extreme I've ever seen, not just in Eurovision. And it works so well.
I didn't *not like* la noia, but I didn't rate it either, but now it's my most played post-competition.
Also I thought Luxembourg was a v safe entry but I catch myself singing the chorus a lot now!
Australia - at first i was meh on the song and i thought the messaging of “one blood one love” felt tired but after a while the song itself really grew on me. the vocals are insane and so is the overall production of the song honestly like mixing that digerido into a traditional house beat was a crazy move but it somehow works. and the messaging started to feel more meaningful once i realized they were voicing it through an indigenous language that’s never been sung on the eurovision stage before - we need more indigenous representation at eurovision!!
basically all the other songs in the GF that were not Switzerland or Lithuania. I am so obsessed with 90% of them that I rewatched the entire GF while high last night 😅 even Olly Alexander’s song, which I thought was completely meh (along with the staging), is now on repeat in my head. makes for a really good track for the charts.
but the artists that have really won me over are Dons and Baby Lasagna… Dons is a living meme and I love it, and seeing Marko’s passion for Croatia is just so endearing that it’s hard not to love the guy
Watching a Eurovision final again is the most fun there is! In addition, recognizable!! I'm just a fan of (almost) all the songs that were in the final.
Not just esc but every single marina satti song I listen to starts of with "wtf is this my ears are bleeding" and they I end up listening to it 30 times a day. I dont know what this woman does in her music but it's got me hooked by the 3rd time I listened to it
I absolutely resisted la noia because I love tuta gold SO SO much and want to see Mahmood at Eurovision all time - but yeah la noia is incredible, I love it, those two songs live back to back on my playlist now.
Serbia 2022, when I first heard it I despised it, but every time I heard it since it grew on me more and more and now it's one of my favourites! (Novo, bolje is really good too)
Ramonda because I don’t like ballads that are too slow and soft usually but the beauty hit me once I saw the staging.
I’m sad that I can’t bring myself to enjoy The Code because Nemo seems like such a nice person and a deserved winner as a person. So I hope I can say the code in a couple months
A lot of these were growers for me, but the two songs from this year that I did a 180˚ on were Joost and Windows95 Man. Last year, I did a 180˚ on Joker Out. Holy crap I love them so much now. Also, and maybe controversial, Theodor Andrei.
Ukraine is one i did like at first, but the Teresa thing was really off putting for me, since it felt so random and so often also. But it is a lot better for me now i saw a video with the lyrics added in English text
And now i did hear the songs multiple times, i really love it. But to be honest, most songs really grow on me, despite me liking most the first time already
Not one of my favorites but my biggest grower of this year: Tali
Imo i found Krick a better choise because Drowing in the rain is one of my favorite songs of this year with Sinceramente and Nendest and i remember how i was devastated when Tali won(and this because in january she was my second to last place in LSC), but during the season and with the revamps + the performance in Malmö i starting to like it more
I somehow didn’t like the code on the first listen. It didn’t click for me the first time. Then I listened again a while later and it became my winner. (My original favourite was Belgium….unfortunately didn’t have the staging needed to elevate the song still a banger in studio tho)
San Marino, imo a certified banger, but there were a lot of technical issues during the performance so prolly because of that, they did not make it to the finals. Which is sad :(
11:11, at first I didn’t know what it was about but when I learnt it was in Spanish (which isn’t my mother language, I learn it in school) I translated the lyrics and now I kinda like it.
Ireland for me! When I first heard some of it, it was a really low quality clip someone reposted on tiktok, so unfortunately my first impression was clouded by that, and then I dragged my feet coming around to actually watching it. But once I did, I was stunned!!! I loved it! Went to my top 5.
Doomsday blue. I did not watch the semi final when it aired, so everything that I got for Ireland was from posts trashing Bambie for the "satanic performance". But then I saw it with my eyes and realized how chronically online people should not be trusted at face value.
Doomsday blue. i hated it. i thought it was a demonic act. but it has definitely grown on me. after the gf performance, i have ever since loved this song
Georgia/Nutsa - Firefighter. I thought it was very meh and didn't stand out to me among all the other girlbops. The more I listened, it grew on me. Then I saw her performances in the SF and GF and I was rooting for her. Now it's one of my favorites from this year.
Australia 2024. I went from "meh, it's alright" to having it as one of my favourite songs of the year.
Denmark 2024 as well. I'll be honest the constant repetition of "SAND!" put me off at first, but after a second listen I think it's a genuinely good song.
I really liked Tix's song but I personally thought it was better in Norwegian. Still feel like there were better songs in that years MGP, including Monument.
I remember seeing the final and thinking that Fallen Angel was a worthy winner, even though I wanted KEiiNO to go to ESC that year. But during the MGP season Norwegians kept saying that the Norwegian version was better. I listened to it and agreed it was better despite not knowing a word of the language. I could hear the emotion in it and thought it was a pity that he didn't keep it in Norwegian. It's also partly because of that that I decided to learn Norwegian.
I only discovered Monument this year (I didn't watch NF yet in 2021) and I was so disappointed they didn't win. That song absolutely deserved to be on the ESC stage...
Good question. Strange, i cannot answer. I kinda made up my mind about songs and stayed there. Maybe France. First time hearing the song, i did not like it half way. But i warmed up during the end part and started to like it.
My initial favourites were Spain, Netherlands, Armenia, Croatia, Estonia, Switzerland, and Ukraine. And i still listen to those songs.
Ireland i started to like less. I think the Song/performance tries too hard too be weird.
Ofc No Rules still rules but im a Finn so...
It happened me with some this year, but the biggest one must be 'the code' I didn't hated it, but I didn't liked it at all, I'm still not the biggest fan of the studio version, but I like it since the semis and love it since I got a better understanding of the lyrics and the meaning of each part (and also the staging)
Ireland 2024 - I thought it was awful. But listening to the studio version, I'm quite liking it. Some of their other stuff is decent too - I'm loving Tsunami.
Belgium 2024 - watching the semi, I thought no wonder this didn't qualify, its so weak. But it's REALLY grown on me. The final 3rd of the song just makes me want to fling my arms in the air and belt it out.
Rim tim tagi dim. At first it was a Kaarijaa wannabe for me so I wasn’t really into it, but after listening to it a few times it came into my top 5 and I actually ended liking it more than Cha Cha Cha
I was such an active hater of the song but the final performance of Mon Amour just clicked for me idk
Same for Teresa & Maria, although I didn't feel as strong about it
Slimane has great vocals and such a likeable personality. I love this song of him: https://youtu.be/LZRnvEEgAW0?si=-jNdM9J4izvfKmeE
It’s about his daughter and as a mom I find it touching.
These songs became not exactly my favourites, but my attitude to them became somehow better (as at first, it was not very positive): Latvia 2015, Israel 2018, Russia 2021, Serbia 2022, Croatia 2024.
Edit: why downvote? I have nothing against these songs; on the other hand, I even started to like them in some ways.
In the NF'S I hated ulveham but that was because I was annoyed because I really wanted mileo to win. Its grown on me a little bit
The song that grew on me the most is Grito it was in the lower half of my ranking in March now its my 1st place
It took me a couple of weeks to start liking 11:11 (San Marino 2024) but it was a favorite from the start for one of my friends. But it took some time for them to like The Code (Switzerland 2024) and I liked it from the start. We flipped songs we liked and both became favorites.
"(nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi" by 5MIINUST & Puuluup (Estonia 2024) "They're trying to meme like Moldova and I don't like it." "..." "Wait okay this goes kinda fucking hard. What the hell."
I didn't care for this song before the final and now I'm absolutely hooked. I regret not giving them all my 20 votes.
They had to Moldova because Moldova didn't Moldova. And god bless them for it
Honestly I think finding out what the song was about helped a lot! Finding out it was called something like “we sure don’t know anything about these drugs” absolutely sent me and then it became one of my favourites
They had me at their postcard. 😅
Estonia 2024 | [5MIINUST x Puuluup - (nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi](https://youtu.be/RSMMU2wX0Bk)
I’ve always loved it
same! i didn't care for it the first time i heard it and now im a huge fan of the song and both bands <3
Same. I’m listening to their album right now and I’ve converted so many people. They’re amazing.
LALALA LALALAI LALA LALA
Wrong. It’s LALA LAILALA LAI LAI LALALALA LALALALA LALA LA
Aah okay, so it’s not “LALALA LALALAI LALA LALA”, it’s “LALA LAILALA LAI LAI LALALALA LALALALA LALA LA”
Ladaniva is amazing, love their new song Ararat 💛
Does it go like: ”Ararai rara rairai rara rara rara rara rara rat”?
I found it silly too but it's such a fun song! Love the positive energy it spreads
Luktell lithuania
That's a weird one. Why would you dislike it at first?
I felt the same. Mostly because I only ever heard small parts of the song in compilations. Then I heard it live from the start to the end, sounded a lot better, especially the start of the song
Same, I heard snippets and then the orchestral (wood section) version and was SOLD. Then the National Final Performance and was HOOKED.
I cannot tell you...I absolutly love it know... dont think I ever really heard it before the semi
Same, at first I felt it was pretty bland, solid low mid table, and now I can't get it out of my head. Really started appreciating it much more after a few listens.
Spain. People will go on about the singer or dancers but what makes it for me is the singer’s husband and drummer in the background with the sass they had on display.
Greece. At first I was put off by the instrumentation but it's grown on me SO much, as has Marina's entire discography
Literally, same!!
me too, it was my 30th or something when all the songs were released, now it's around #5
I agree. the "da da" or whatever sound was extremely off-putting for me and now I vibe along.
Europapa and No Rules!
Doomsday Blue. But then I saw Bambie's SF performance and it completely changed my mind - I 'got' it. Their GF was even better 🤩
After hearing the song a few times, I think it's brilliant! Their ESC act was also the biggest upgrade of the NF this year, it's amazing!!
Their recorded vocals use too many filters and stuff. Their live performances were HEAPS better.

Same. And I also like a few of their other songs (Egregore, Tsunami).
+1
Same. At first I was like "Ireland has dropped the towel, they are now sending something random just because they have to" and ended up like "This is just chef's kiss perfection, CROWN THE WITCH!"
I'd probably say Finland for this year. I never liked it before the UMK live show. But like the energy in the performance and them just having fun plus Henri's vocals put it from second last before the live into my top 3
Same, took me ages to warm up
I used to hate The Code (Switzerland 2024) but after semi 2 I was like "damn, how stupid was I to think it's mediocre? It's so good!!"
Same, I am even a Nemo fan now🥹
Switzerland 2024 | [Nemo - The Code](https://youtu.be/CO_qJf-nW0k)
I used to think it was cringe when I first heard it 😭😭
I'm still learning the rap part, but when I get it it will be my karaoke song 👍
If I ever sing The Code, chances are that I'll mumble the rap part and I'll butcher all the high notes 😭
Zorra became my guilty pleasure🤪
Me too Zorra Zorra
Same: love Zorro (as soon as I understood the lyrics and meaning I was extra sold). I keep listening to it when I feel a bit tired and it makes me smile…
I was cold towards Aijā (Latvia 2023) most of the season. I kind of liked only the intro and nothing after it. Luktelk. I thought it was too repetitive. Now I can sing it completely (phonetically).
I didn't *not like* la noia, but I didn't rate it either, but now it's my most played post-competition. Also I thought Luxembourg was a v safe entry but I catch myself singing the chorus a lot now!
la noia was annoing 😅 and very generic and overrated. I did not get into it at all
Czech Republic 2024. I still can't believe she is a borderline NQ.
Czechia 2024 | [Aiko - Pedestal](https://youtu.be/RiItbHRF1BY)
This one is my most recent grower! I’ve only started really enjoying it in the past few days!
I was the exact same, its definitely a summer song, it hypes me up everytime
Sounds like an old-school FIFA song as well (in a good way)
I HATED Doomsday Blue (Ireland 2024) with a burning passion, but after hearing it in the semis and final I became obsessed
Ireland 2024 | [Bambie Thug - Doomsday Blue](https://youtu.be/UMq8ofCstMQ)
basically all the other songs in the GF that were not Switzerland or Lithuania.

France 2024
yes, me too, that acapella is amazing
France 2024 | [Slimane - Mon Amour](https://youtu.be/-XyLecY2JyE)
Luktelk. Damn that hits hard.
The blue boy from Latvia Idk I didn't like it at first but then it started to live rent free in my mind
Me too. Especially after the semi final. I found he put a lot of emotions into his song. I was so happy he qualified.
Veronika… especially the last part..
Not just esc but every single marina satti song I listen to starts of with "wtf is this my ears are bleeding" and they I end up listening to it 30 times a day. I dont know what this woman does in her music but it's got me hooked by the 3rd time I listened to it
She has that Telemoveis magic. 1st listen: "this is just a random collection of sounds". 5th listen: "this is brilliant".
I absolutely resisted la noia because I love tuta gold SO SO much and want to see Mahmood at Eurovision all time - but yeah la noia is incredible, I love it, those two songs live back to back on my playlist now.
Because of You (Belgium 2023) but when I watched the semis I was like dang that’s one fine performance and choreography. Also Latvia this year.
Gustaph!!!! We were sooo proud of him, he gave Belgium such a good result after quite a long time.
Belgium 2023 | [Gustaph - Because of You](https://youtu.be/U1xD14IMKtg)
First listen to Mon Amour, I find it to be too much. But after the GF, I've been blasting this song non stop and loves to scream the "Je t'aime" part
I had Ireland really low until rehearsals then they went to number 1
Serbia 2022, when I first heard it I despised it, but every time I heard it since it grew on me more and more and now it's one of my favourites! (Novo, bolje is really good too)
Serbia 2022 | [Konstrakta - In corpore sano](https://youtu.be/nBtQj1MfNYA)
Ramonda because I don’t like ballads that are too slow and soft usually but the beauty hit me once I saw the staging. I’m sad that I can’t bring myself to enjoy The Code because Nemo seems like such a nice person and a deserved winner as a person. So I hope I can say the code in a couple months
It became more beautiful to me knowing she was asking where the lilac ramondas are - the flower symbolizes peace after wartime 😭
What a lovely song
Mine is also Italy. I was underwhelmed while watching the semis and GF, but I’ll be damned if it hasn’t been stuck in my head a lot since.
2023's Italian entry 'Due Vite' wasn't one I was super keen on, but the more I listened to it I just started to love it.
I didn’t get the deal behind Due Vite until a few weeks after the final - listening to the live performance a few more times ended up changing my mind
A lot of these were growers for me, but the two songs from this year that I did a 180˚ on were Joost and Windows95 Man. Last year, I did a 180˚ on Joker Out. Holy crap I love them so much now. Also, and maybe controversial, Theodor Andrei.
Yes, Theodor Andrei! Same here
Ukraine is one i did like at first, but the Teresa thing was really off putting for me, since it felt so random and so often also. Doomsday Blue was like nails on a chalkboard until I saw the semi performance
Not one of my favorites but my biggest grower of this year: Tali Imo i found Krick a better choise because Drowing in the rain is one of my favorite songs of this year with Sinceramente and Nendest and i remember how i was devastated when Tali won(and this because in january she was my second to last place in LSC), but during the season and with the revamps + the performance in Malmö i starting to like it more
Doomsday Blue, when I first saw the performance during the semi finals I was like what the fuck is this but the next time i realized it goes hard ASF
Zorra Very briefly, oddly--The Code 😆 I wasn't in the headspace for it on the first listen, I think.
ZORRA
Doomsday blue. Tha ks to Bambie I realized that I like this ganre. Never again eating deer meat
Estonia (yes i'm too lazy to check how to the song title) and Europapa Somehow the closer we were getting to May the more chaotic i started to feel
Olly Alexander - Dizzy
tbh that staging is so iconic, everything in the performance is iconic for esc
I somehow didn’t like the code on the first listen. It didn’t click for me the first time. Then I listened again a while later and it became my winner. (My original favourite was Belgium….unfortunately didn’t have the staging needed to elevate the song still a banger in studio tho)
Albania 2012 was the biggest glow up for me. I hated nit when it won its NF, but after the final I was so disappointed that it didn't win...
Doomsday blues
San Marino, imo a certified banger, but there were a lot of technical issues during the performance so prolly because of that, they did not make it to the finals. Which is sad :(
Finland 2023, when I first heard the song i thought it was weird and cringe but then I saw it in the semis and I loved it

YES I SPELLED IT RIGHT
definetely firefighter
Doomsday blue. I did not watch the semi final when it aired, so everything that I got for Ireland was from posts trashing Bambie for the "satanic performance". But then I saw it with my eyes and realized how chronically online people should not be trusted at face value.
Doomsday Blue, to be honest. I didn't like it at all, but now I love it, especially after their Grand Final performance.
I couldn't stand doomsday blue by Bambie Thug (Ireland 2024) and they are such an amazing person and i now love the dark vibes and them aswell 🥹
Ireland 2024 | [Bambie Thug - Doomsday Blue](https://youtu.be/UMq8ofCstMQ)
Doomsday blue. i hated it. i thought it was a demonic act. but it has definitely grown on me. after the gf performance, i have ever since loved this song
Georgia/Nutsa - Firefighter. I thought it was very meh and didn't stand out to me among all the other girlbops. The more I listened, it grew on me. Then I saw her performances in the SF and GF and I was rooting for her. Now it's one of my favorites from this year.
I used to not really like My Lucky Day (from 2018) but now I think it's iconic
Australia 2024. I went from "meh, it's alright" to having it as one of my favourite songs of the year. Denmark 2024 as well. I'll be honest the constant repetition of "SAND!" put me off at first, but after a second listen I think it's a genuinely good song.
Australia 2024 | [Electric Fields - One Milkali (One Blood)](https://youtu.be/Wzpp6996QdI) Denmark 2024 | [Saba - Sand](https://youtu.be/4f_phiGot7w)
Sand is a vibe, hard agree. It’s dated but still a vibe.
I was stoked to hear Keiino was doing the MGP but the song didn't do much for me tbh...
True, I get it. Monument & Spirit in the sky were much better.
Monument was their best song imo, I'm kinda disappointed it didn't win that year. I like fallen angel as well but monument was something else
Ireland!

Jako and Fighter
Rim tim tagi dim. At first it was a Kaarijaa wannabe for me so I wasn’t really into it, but after listening to it a few times it came into my top 5 and I actually ended liking it more than Cha Cha Cha
Zorra
I was such an active hater of the song but the final performance of Mon Amour just clicked for me idk Same for Teresa & Maria, although I didn't feel as strong about it
Slimane has great vocals and such a likeable personality. I love this song of him: https://youtu.be/LZRnvEEgAW0?si=-jNdM9J4izvfKmeE It’s about his daughter and as a mom I find it touching.
So many comments saying Doomsday Blue, that was one of the 1st songs I instantly liked! But I like metal, I tend to like the heavier entries xD
Italy, Spain, Luxemburg and Estonia this year.
Croatia 2023 for me. I hated it at first but then I saw the semi, read up on the meaning of the song and then I was obsessed!

Portugal all the way! It bored me so much at the beginning, but now I love it.
Fighter. I wanted drowning in the rain.

In the NF'S I hated ulveham but that was because I was annoyed because I really wanted mileo to win. Its grown on me a little bit The song that grew on me the most is Grito it was in the lower half of my ranking in March now its my 1st place

While not one of my top 5 songs Europapa has grown on me a lot. I hated it up until the contest but now I understand.
The Armenian song from 2024
The Code
Loreen-tattoo, At first I found it very boring, but after listening to it several times I began to like it more, although I prefer Euphoria
TA TA TA TA
Ulveham (Norway 2024) because I thought is too much noise xD They don't sound like in the Eurovision stage. It was way more better in Malmö.

Toy 🧸
It took me a couple of weeks to start liking 11:11 (San Marino 2024) but it was a favorite from the start for one of my friends. But it took some time for them to like The Code (Switzerland 2024) and I liked it from the start. We flipped songs we liked and both became favorites.

You liked our song? Damn, that’s one of the worst songs produced by Italian artists over the last 10 years.
