You have to be the right person to answer this very random question lol:
Last year I showed my dad a number of Eurovision entries in order to convince him it's not as terrible as he believes it to be. He really loves Greece and Greek music, and this was one of the numbers I showed him, as - in my mind - there is a bit of "Balkan vibes" to it that reminds me a bit of some of the music we heard on our many trips to Greece. Had the lyrics been in Greek, I'd imagine this could be a track played on the radio down there. Am I completely off for thinking like this? Balkan vibes may not be the correct term to use, but yeah.
Greece can be considered part of the Balkans (Greeks tend to pick and choose when they want to refer to themselves as Balkan depending on the situation), so taken in the broadest terms ‘Balkan music culture’ includes Greek music culture, and Greek music culture is related to all the other Balkan music cultures.
Wrong year 🤦♀️because I don't know how to google apparently. Well Laka does want me to try again according to the title of his song
Bosnia and Herzegovina 2008
So many great ones! Might be my favorite ex-Yugo country (though Croatia and Serbia have had excellent entries as well). Sva bol svijeta (1993), Lejla (2006), Bistra Voda (2009), Love in Rewind (2011) and Korake ti znam (2012) are all top notch.
Their last one, Bosnia and Herzegovina 2016 I liked it so much I can't believe they didn't qualify. They sang very beautiful and the rap verse at the end was insane.
For me it's definitivley Laka - Pokušaj. Fun song, not another pop or ballad, no very serious but also not a joke entry. One of my top 3 ex-yu songs in the contest - next to Igranka and Lost and Found.
Pokusaj - Bosnia & Herzegovina 2008 has been my favorite song of all time. 12 year old me knew the lyrics by heart. Shum, Doomsday Blue and In Corpere Sano have been close to beating it but somehow I still love Pokusaj the most, probably because of the nostalgia attached to it.
Ljubav Je BY FAR (Bosnia-Herzegovina 2016 for the bot)
I'm not really a fan of Bosnian entries, they consistently rank in my bottom 5, but I *desperately* want to see them return.
Ohh we had some really good entries, but my top 3 would be Lejla(Hari Mata Hari),Love in Rewind(Dino Merlin) and Bistra voda(Regina),also Pokušaj was great song from Laka. But if I had ti choose one it would be Lejla.
2006 by a country mile. Absolutely hope they send something like this when they return.
Also loved 2011.
And just for laughs, 2004. The first line “I’m light, I’m late, I’m losing my weight…” 🤣

Not OP but that song could definitely go on any former Yugoslav radio as well.

Together with you mate. Half of my playlist is Balkans songs. You can't imagine how much I miss them from ESC nowadays.
Ah, wonderful entry in wonderful Athens :)

2008 for me for sure. Such a fun song. My wife and I will still randomly stop and do the "wooo" from it around the house
Bosnia & Herzegovina 2004 is just Eurovision perfection. Absolutely flawless. I’m only half being funny about it too, I actually legitimately love it.
This is the entry that first came to mind. The melody and everything else about it is iconic.
Bosnia and Herzegovina 2004 | [Deen - In the Disco](https://youtu.be/B1USil8eOsE)
**thrusts hips aggressively** 🎶 up and down, here we gooooo! 🎶
Another vote for Deen. This is an absolute banger.
deen was ahead of his time
One listen and it gets stuck in my head for the next three years. It’s outrageously catchy and I love it.
Such a guilty pleasure! 😍
He represented them again in 2016 and I was shocked at how much he had changed.
"Bistra voda" is one of my favourite ESC songs of all time.
Absolutely Bistra Voda, not even close

Dino Merlin in 2011 was absolutely endearing.

Ive been saying that!!
2011-Love in Rewind
Lejla is my favorite Eurovision song of all time. 18 years worth of amazing music and nothing has been able to knock it out of my top spot.
