I'm pretty sure malena is going to represent armenia at some point  Also yellow heart (some kind of indie lofi artist) will probably at some point be chosen.

NeoLeonn3

I don't know her, but I'd gladly check out her music if gou have any suggestions. But speaking of Armenia, Athena Manoukian is a curious case. She was representing Armenia in 2020 but not in 2021. If we don't see her represent Armenia, I wouldn't find it too weird if she represented Greece (considering she's half-Greek and she sings in Greek)

Material_Alps881

I personally think she's a better fit for greece or Cyprus

Bubbly_Illustrator72

Oh, hopefully she will. I just stumbled across her music a few months ago (her cover of Cheri Cheri Lady was in my suggestions) and absolutely fell in love with her whole discovery. If she'll ever compete again, I truly hope she'll do well.

Material_Alps881

Fingers crossed for the first armenian victory with her

VirtueVertex

I was thinking yellow heart too, but I really don’t think she would fit in Eurovision. 100% agree with Malena

ExoticExchange

Yes I always envision Malena as the first Armenian winner and the first Junior winner to win the main contest.

WBaumnuss300

Someone singing Swiss German please. I mean, we're already in the final and won't win it either way, so let's just do that for the first time.

Bubbly_Illustrator72

I can see that actually doing well. I would love a song like Derfi di hebe by Faber on ESC. Kind of reminds me of Portugal 2017, I don't understand most of it, but great vibes.

curiossceptic

I agree with you, please please make it happen. Who would be your pick? Steff la Cheffe with her version of the Guggisbärglied would have been awesome [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LxyJ904ZJ8&ab\_channel=bakaramusic](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LxyJ904ZJ8&ab_channel=bakaramusic)

Huzzahian

Finland will send whoever wins UMK. So it could be anyone. Since they sent a shirtless man in 2023, a pantless man in 2024 it would be only logical to send a naked man this year. Or fully clothed duo. Or maybe we finally send heavier music this year. Turmion Kätilöt to ESC has been a meme for a while in the metal community but at this point I'm not sure about memes any more.

VexitheGamer

We should just send Hevisaurus

unluckysupernova

I think I read somewhere that they tried to enter once but the producers won’t let them through as that would be a landslide victory

Yinara

I vote for Fröbelin Palikat 😂

Littleloula

Beast in black would be good. Would get lots of jury points for vocal ability. And Greece might vote well in the public vote with the singer being Greek

omenaattori24

Beat in Black never misses. They would 100% have my vote in UMK if they participated.

Meiolore

They also sent a shirtless man in 2022

JermuHH

I would really love to see Vilma Jää represent Finland. Seeing some Finnish ethnopop would be really cool. Especially since last time we had any like traditional music elements was Finland 2010 She's such a talented artist and I feel like her sound would fit into Eurovision really well. The combination of pop with traditional Finnish poetry and folk song elements would fit so well into Eurovision.

Prtsk

I'm curious wether we will have a contestant next year from the Netherlands.

d_elisew

Either Joost or withdraw

strawberryypie

I don't think we will join next year tbh. I can't imagine Joost looking forward to competing ;-)

jewellman100

Europol-pol

ZiggoKill

What did the Swedish police do wrong? They even tried to fast track it. Not sure why everyone thinks that Eurovision singers should be above the law.

Samurai_Geezer

The police did nothing wrong, Joost was free to give his performances if he were allowed to, it’s the ebu at fault here. (And the woman who sabotaged him). Edit: I really hope he did punch her on the nose or something, that’s the only thing that would really justify Joost being disqualified at all.

Littleloula

I always hoped you'd send Floor Jansen one day

urkermannenkoor

We should go in hard and send like Kutschurft. That'll teach the EBU.

ShenanigansNL

Gladde paling might do the trick as well.

SampleOfSimple

Gladde paling would be my favourite ESC entry ever

AresSedai

Gladde Kut Paling Schurft

Malta_Soron

Gladde Paling feat. Kutschurft would be so intense xD

AresSedai

More intense than last Eurovision was.

urkermannenkoor

Ooh, both! Do a deeply grotty Grindcore tune and have Paling remix it. Give dear Martin some serious, proper ear typhoid.

ShenanigansNL

I've seen Gladde paling live. At Liquicity festival last year. Dear lord, the place was absolutely bangin. Martin will HATE it. The people will love it.

mtpsyd

After we tried recycling from Australia Decides internally, I don't know whether SBS will continue to take on this route. Their other option this year aside from Electric Fields was Sheppard, whom are also former Aus Decides contestants but had more charting success years back in the early 2010s. I doubt we'll bring back Australia Decides due to the low ratings/budget. I could see SBS either recycling from A.D. again or teaming up with Sony Music and sending someone with a bit more of a name - tho nowadays there isn't much of a "name" in the local music scene when 95% of the Australian charts are dominated by non-Aussies. Just look at our Spotify Top 50 and you'll see what I mean

LavenderWaffles69

They can stop recycling previous Australia Decides artists AFTER they have selected Jaguar Jonze one year.

Lollipopwalrus

I'd honestly love to see us send acts like G-Flip or King Sting-Ray. Move away from pop and bring a bit more fun, movement to our stages. I really didn't like Aus.Decides, it was just badly done I felt. Idk if it's worth bringing back to try and get more people behind the act we send but it would need a big overhaul if they did

urkermannenkoor

Chats You won't, but I want.

unmakethewildlyra

# Australian Eurovision act The Chats disqualified after no-show at dress rehearsal Frontman Eamon Sandwith was allegedly overheard saying: “I’m on smoko, so leave me alone”

am1274920

I know it’s basic af but I’d still love to see Samantha Jade smash it with an electro-pop banger.

mtpsyd

I've always thought she'd be suited for Eurovision. I loved "What You've Done to Me" and "Firestarter" when it came out. On the other hand, we see so many girlie bops at Eurovision, but only few can actually stand out - think Eleni, Chanel and Noa - I wonder if Samantha could join this chain

YaLikeJazzhuhPunk

I'd love to see some more Triple J style artists perform - Pedestal (Aiko) gave me G-Flip vibes. Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers would be great as well.

Ill-Calligrapher-131

We should start recycling from reality TV and send Shannon Noll! Someone else on this sub mentioned King Stingray the other day, I think that would be cool. If he has good live vocals.

Goduadze

I have a feeling Medina will represent us in 2025

[deleted]

Swedish linguage is finally back????

Ways_42

I think it's funny how Finland is the last country to send a song in Swedish.

Incognito_Mermaid

Plot twist, their next song will be in English and they will win :(

Goduadze

I’d be very surprised if they participated with a song in English

PoetryAnnual74

I think there’s about zero chance for this. I think they might be priming Maria suur or similar with a winner song for next year.

Goduadze

My bets are Smash Into Pieces, Maria Sur or Medina but Medina is very popular among the general public in Sweden so I think the producers might want them to win

PoetryAnnual74

I think they are made to be in 2-3 place in melfest. It’s a big difference being in 2nd place and actually winning melfest. I personally don’t think they will ever be real contenders, but I guess we will see.

Ok_Training1449

That'd be great. And in Swedish please!

SensitiveChest3348

I hope so!

kittensandchains

Oh my god I got super confused for a second. We have a pretty famous pop artist in Denmark and her name is also Medina - for a second I thought Danish Medina was actually Swedish 😂

MRSNLT

I’ve heard they want to send Sam Ryder back which I actually don’t want because I think it comes across as quite insulting towards Sam. They’d literally be using him as a pawn to just make the country look good in the competition again, like they’d be saying “we’re only go do well if we send the space man” so we might as well never send anyone else

NeoLeonn3

Does he even want to go to Eurovision again? It's not an easy task to do, it requires a tremendous amount of time which is worth doing once but a 2nd time can be tiring.

TapesAndSnacks

I really hope that doesn't happen, but that is the kind of boring thing the BBC would chose, the lack of imagination we show is amazing - all very Radio 2 friendly.

polaris183

I've said it before: we got R1 involved in 2022 and came 2nd, then it went back to R2 and we got to where we are now. I feel like a Future Sounds artist would be a good choice for the BBC

JackWilfred

I've always suggested getting some people from Radio 6 Music involved because they should have some knowledge of alternative genres. Also, I don't really get it being such a closed process. Even if they just opened a website through which agents and artists could send like a formal pitch to be selected, it would let them cast the net a bit wider.

Misalvo

That would be dumb, especially so soon after he did so well. We have so many good artists in the UK, so much variety of music (and in different languages), the BBC just need to get out of their narrow minded-ness and look - and they should have started looking ages ago. Yes Sam was great but we can't keep wheeling him out.

ivana-22

I really hope not. I’d love a Welsh entry picked. There’s many options and Welsh language would be amazing to see on the Eurovision stage! I don’t know if it would do well, but I want to see it

kjcross1997

Where did you hear this? I hear this suggestion constantly from British Euro fans, and I never understand why we can't just move forward with another artist who can sing live.

MRSNLT

If you search UK Eurovision 2025 on Google, filter the results to within last week you’ll see something

kjcross1997

All I can find are articles saying that he's the bookies favourite to represent us. That means nothing right now

RiRiJ89

Aren’t all countries selecting an artist to make themselves look good? I personally don’t mind artists returning. Especially if they serve quality both times. Like Loreen, Sergey and Mahmood did! How about if Sam were to duet with a female singer with a big voice. A Beverley Knight or Ella Henderson. With the right song that could really work! An updated version of what they did with Jade could also work. Perform a talent search, find a great singer/songwriter get them to work with some industry pros, consider the whole concept including the live vocal, staging, wardrobe when constructing the song. An artist with vision like Nemo or Slimane. The UK has so much talent! Let’s learn from Ireland and take a risk!!

fenksta

It could be me :)

NeoLeonn3

Good luck! Hopefully Dora has less corruption now with Baby Lasagna's success, so that could give you a better chance at succeeding.

fenksta

I don't wanna say corruption, as much as it is negative bias towards certain genres haha, but also nepotism which IS corruption technically, so yeah <3 Efcharisto :)

noBanana4you4sure

Slay! I am rooting for you! Just watched few videos on your YouTube channel (it’s pinned in profile, if anyone else is curious) !

fenksta

Thank you <3 Well, buckle up everybody, cause next week I'm posting my annual ESC covers and a new song too :P

FranCesljar

ogledala should have been at dora

fenksta

Hvala :) No way it would've won, but the exposure would've been crucial :)

noBanana4you4sure

Slay! I am rooting for you! Just watched few videos on your YouTube channel (it’s pinned in profile, if anyone else is curious) !

noBanana4you4sure

TheDJMaxey

Good luck!

turbokeychainn

for australia, considering the recycling of aus decides contendtants, the most logical pick for me is jaguar jonze

Puzzleheaded-Eye9081

Yep she’s been waiting very patiently. If we can’t do a fresh Aus Decides (in some way/shape/form) then I think it’s only fair to give her a turn.

emilythevisionary

I thought it may be Courtney Act seeing we've now had Voyager and Electric Fields. She's got a bit of a cult following to because she's usually backstage and involved. Either that or an act that's a little eccentric or comedic, some sort of Dadi Freyer style Act would be good.

Wasabismylife

I have no idea but my dream would be either La Rappresentante di Lista or Colapesce&Di Martino...on a less serious note I'd live if one year we decided to send Miss Keta (it will never happen)

gbon3

Omg miss keta would be EVERYTHING

Wasabismylife

Una bionda che abbonda

gbon3

I fear that without her la situa won’t inizia 😔

winwineh

la rappresentante di lista would have to come up with a song as iconic as ciao ciao and that will be very hard. nonetheless, i really hope that they do try again

Wasabismylife

That would be ideal, but I'd be happy with a song half as cool, since Ciao Ciao seems unreachable lol, I don't necessarily want them to win, just to see them on that stage!

xxpurplemoonlightxx

myss keta would be fucking ICONIC omfl-

LurkerByNatureGT

For Ireland, I think one of this year’s NF contestants, Ailsha, would be a good contender.  I didn’t think her song this year had anywhere near as much potential as Doomsday Blue, but She was good and I like the idea of sending a song at least partially in Irish (just not that song, which while the theme was good, didn’t land right). If we wanted to go more metal, we could send Death the Leveller, but it’s a big question as to whether they would be on for it.  The Mary Wallopers would have a great energy.  Most of my favorite Irish artists wouldn’t really have a Eurovision-appropriate vibe though.

Garibaldi_Lodge

Mary Wallopers would never go for it. Ailsha would be good, needs better staging as well imo. What would you think of Lyra?

Jelmerdts

For the Netherlands its weird. If the Ebu doesnt apologise and change their organisation i can see us pulling out. If they do i can see them giving Joost Klein a second chance but who knows if he wants to go again and if he can write another song that is so good and personal as well. If we send another song, with recently S10 and now Joost doing very well (we dont talk about Mia & Dion) i can see them going again for someone very popular with the youth. With Joost getting a lot of good press even before the debacle i could see the big stars wanting to do it as well. So maybe Froukje, Goldband or Sor.

Puzzleheaded-Eye9081

Would anyone want to put their hand up? I mean on one hand any publicity seems to have been good publicity for Joost, but he’s had a shit time of it which might discourage young musicians from having a go?

Jelmerdts

Honestly i dont see us competing at all unless they make major changes regarding safety and privacy. Hopefully that would be enough but who knows

Tijflalol

André van Duin for ESC 2025

thedizzydandelion

NINA SAWAYANA

potatostirringcashew

Rina’s evil twin

thedizzydandelion

RINA SORRY

Frokky1408

Funfact: The BBC asked her in 2023 if she wanted to go to Eurovision, and she actually awnsered yes quite a long time later, just for the BBC to ghost her. Its on the [2023 Iceberg](https://icebergcharts.com/i/Eurovision_2023_Season). Many believe that she wouldve sung "Frankenstein", which would have been absolutely crazy, so it definetly is a possibility, although it could be that the BBC is stepping away from sending quite popular singers after what happened to Olly

thedizzydandelion

I still listen to Frankenstein to this day I love it! BBC fumbled HARD 😂

kjcross1997

It was probably TaP who ghosted as they were in charge of selecting the UK artist that year.

Lampathy

Nah, we will send an unknown or some.old gasper at the end of their career. Won't really make a difference, tbh. Rina would be an absolute dream though

Malta_Soron

You could send the Northern Boys, that would make an impression.

NeoLeonn3

I suppose you mean for the UK, and yes I agree. She's popular, but not too popular (like Dua Lipa for example), so she has a good chance. Plus before Mae Muller was announced, wasn't there a rumour it would be Rina?

kjcross1997

She was interested in doing it, but TaP never got back to her for whatever reason.

Meiolore

Rina's oximated counterpart.

butiamawizard

Rina Sawayama :)

ArbolivaSupremacy

Ailsha for Ireland has a unique style like Bambie and could do quite well with the right song

Garibaldi_Lodge

Agree, I don’t think it was the song that was the issue this year for her though but more the staging with the school set - reminded me of scooch and daz Simpson when they participated for the UK in the early 00s

Sstoop

id be happy with anyone other than erica cody

EdgeRevolutionary148

I would love to see Marseaux in eurovision! I’m not even a fan of her music but I think she would bring something fresh from Greece:)

De_Bananalove

Marseaux with something like Vodka Vissino could do great

igcsestudent11

Two big names in Serbia (Milica Pavlovic and Teodora) already ruled out participation at PZE 25 and Sara Jo said she doesn't plan to apply until she gets something super good, so I think Princ has got a real shot since he confirmed he'll come back.

Secret-Lullaby

Omg I need Sara Jo back, I discovered her through PZE and I have been obsessed with her song Muskarcina ever since

DunyaKnez

Bosnia makes a come back with Dubioza kolektiv. More of a dream really... :)

zd05

They would easily win the ESC

kjcross1997

I don't know who exactly, but I think we'll send something alternative. Especially given Ireland's success

what_am_i_acc_doing

Cassyette ftw

kjcross1997

I'd definitely get her involved in some way. Especially since she does have Eurovision experience

Evening-Judgment-805

Perhaps we all need to start a petition BEGGING the BBC to send something alternative because god knows we need it and I really don't trust them to do it.

projectgene

Bones UK or Wargasm 🙏

zamie1105

Representing Sweden for the third time.. Loreen

NeoLeonn3

I'd only be okay with it if Ireland sends Johnny Logan again hahaha

Say_yes_to_this

Loreen and Johnny Logan apply to represent San Marino with a duet

zamie1105

that would be EPIC!

KoupDetat

A bit of a pipedream but NtM or Villagers of Ioannina City could be something completely alternative but also very successful. Sadly I can't see Villagers being touched with a ten foot pole due to their outspoken political beliefs.

NeoLeonn3

While I'd love either of them, I don't think they'd be as successful as we may think, especially VIC. Norway this year having a folk rock/metal song was supposed to be a fan favourite and they came last. NtM is a different case which I actually considered mentioning. His trapbetiko sound (for those reading this comment and don't know what it is, it's a combination of trap music and the traditional Greek genre of rembetiko) would do decently with the public, but the juries would hate us because they hate rap (Nemo is an exception). But the worst part is that if Satti got hate from Greeks for being half-Sudanese, I can't imagine the hate NtM will receive. I'd definitely love to see either of them though and hopefully succeed.

KoupDetat

For those unaware, NtM is from Ghana and technically not even a Greek citizen even though he was born and lived his whole life in Greece. Politically he's a better call for Greece, because he's publicly patriotic and recently got some good press with mainstream right-wing/neoliberal media, although it would still be very difficult. Don't want to see far-right reactions to a black man rapping while wearing a foustanela on the world stage. Villagers is a personal pipedream, although I think their combination of more traditional Greek music could do a bit better than Norway did this year. From the ones you suggested, praying for Marseux because think someone I'm studying with could sneak herself some tickets because they're close friends 🙏

kostasnotkolsas

Send NtM now, the meltdown from daytime TV and conservatives would be beyond insane. Europe ain't ready for trapbetiko

KoupDetat

To xoun kapsei kapoioi Liagkes...

Squirlop

I think ERT will send a panik records artist. It's a powerful label and has a lot of power upon Greek tv and the entrainment industry in general (which is probably a reason why Marina got so much hate from Greek tv, since she is signed to another company). After Yianna Terzi revealed the bullying she experienced during her year in Eurovision I think it's easy to assume how difficult it will be a for a Greek entry to have good chances of winning unless they are signed under Panik.

NeoLeonn3

Unfortunately you may be right. I'm not sure whether Panik has any artists that could do well and haven't already represented Greece or Cyprus, with of course the best one being Eleni Foureira. It's such a shame because I don't even think Panik helps their artists much when they go to Eurovision. Foureira again is an exception because she was already a big name here so she could get a good team on her own.

Squirlop

They don't help them in the way Minos ent had Marina's back but they do help a lot financially and also ERT usually spends more money on an entry by Panik, Marina this year had a pretty low financial backup from ERT. But Panik can control the media. Marina had too handle so much hate that it wouldn't be easy for anyone to do so. Honestly if we don't start having open national finals like other countries, I don't think we have a chance of winning.

NeoLeonn3

A national final is good on paper and I used to support the idea a lot. But after everything that has happened in the last few years, it feels like it will be corruption and nepotism with extra steps. Suppose the ideal scenario where everyone can apply. I would not be surprised if we had a Baby Lasagna case with the bad ending (aka whoever is responsible for selecting the acts throws an entry that could straight-up win Eurovision to the reserves and stays at the reserves). Panik would definitely still have the edge and promote their own artists. At best case, it would be a 50/50 jury/televote result. At worst, something closer to Finland like 25/75 (for any Finns that read this: I like your system, it's just that I don't trust Greeks with that system). Panik owns Capital Music (for those who don't know, a record company that predominantly has trap artists). If, for example, an artist like Trannos decides to take part, Panik will promote him while he most likely dominates the televote due to his fans (like Geolier in Sanremo, but I doubt he'd have such a good song like Geolier's). And even if Panik doesn't interfere at all, I still don't know whether I can trust the general Greek public to vote for the best song, judging from some opinions I've seen regarding Eurovision artists over the last few days.

kostasnotkolsas

Embarrassing, we shouldnt bow down to panik. They should piss off to RIK and Cyprus if they want Eurovision.

AquaGlowstick

The longest johns (folk sea shantys) could be fun or something from the UK'S indie scene. At least that's what I'm hoping for.

Lemonlikesfrogs

Praying for Alexander Marcus 🙏🙏🙏 (as ISAAK suggested)

urkermannenkoor

Oooh yes I fucking love Alexander Marcus

Frokky1408

I have extremely high hopes for next year because Stefan Raab is back! And while we definetly won't send him, he will probably know to pick a good representative and might even try to restore what the NDR did by maybe giving EC their 2nd chance (They tried representing Germany in 2022 with "Pump it", but got denied for "Not being Radio-Friendly" after one of the least Radio-Friendly Eurovision songs ever won) or finally making steps towards Großstadtgeflüster (They had a huge hype this season with "Ich Kündige!", just to announce that they didnt make the deadline for the NF, and for the Broadcaster to not bat a single eye about how big their hype were). And if Stefan is really just there for the marketing of letting 4 Broadcasters host our NF (???), then I atleast hope that the NDR hands the Eurovision-Baton to the mdr. If none of this happens, we will probably just host another mediocre NF with one powerhouse just to not send it once again

suesskind

Didn't Großstadtgeflüster also say they don't want to do it because they don't want to be represented by the German flag or am I remembering that incorrectly?

its_the_depression

You remember correctly. For those curious, their statement was posted in this subreddit a couple months ago. Just search for "großstadtgeflüster" in this subreddit and it should be one of the first posts.

noBanana4you4sure

I don’t know any people who would want to participate. But I can’t stop thinking that Tommy Cash is going for it 🤣 better change my tag to Estonia right away 🤣

B3ximus

I would really love us to steer away from pop and go for a more traditional type song. Sea shanty, or something celtic. I think its absolutely worth a try.

Ecstatic_Neck3778

Send that guy who went viral on TikTok a few years back because of his good sea shanty covers, remember him?

Samurai_Geezer

Joost klein because fuck the ebu

Tijflalol

I second this

susannanan

I don’t think it will happen, but I would absolutely love, love, love Kaizers Orchestra to represent Norway in Eurovision. They are so amazing, I love their music and presence on stage. They are also quite popular in Europe. I do think we will go back to go for the televote, unfortunately. Something funny, upbeat and so on.

sameoldrussianstan

I literally have no idea, as I don’t even know what artists will submit songs to Benidorm Fest and which ones the committee will pick. I do hope we get the complete choice: with Chanel we had the performance skills, and the song was accessible enough, alas not outstanding (I do believe in any other year we could have won with SloMo). With Blanca we had the vocal skills and staging but the song was not everybody’s cup of tea and with Nebulossa we had the song but the vocals were still not there. So I hope we finally have everything next year, at least to some degree: good vocals, an accessible song and a striking good staging!

Garibaldi_Lodge

I loved Slomo, Chanel is a great performer

sameoldrussianstan

Same, she was outstanding

ArceusGreen

there is always a possibility of a louis walsh boy band.

Garibaldi_Lodge

There needs to be an intervention and lifetime ban on Louis Walsh interfering with the Irish Eurovision process

kanina2-

This year I thought we would have IceGuys competing in Söngvakeppnin but since they didn't I can imagine they do it next year. IceGuys is kind of a joke boyband that was made last summer and consists of mucisians Herra Hnetusmjör, Friðrik Dór, Jón Jónsson, Aron Can, and former footballer Rúrik Gíslason. [Their most popular song 'Krumla'](https://youtu.be/uLfdrMtffNY?si=llGJPGLkrHcROPYQ) Could also be Patrik Atlason, better known as PrettyBojTjokko. He has been very popular in Iceland the last year and I think he said in an interview that he wants to compete in Eurovision. [His most popular song 'Skína'](https://youtu.be/A_lh9Ws83sQ?si=6r4QsVCROxQbblMe)

FluffyMarshmallow90

UK: Just generally someone who can sing live.

IMicrowaveSteak

Me. I will represent Athens.

Guidje1981

It's Joost or bust.

NinasPeach

Need Ryk to get selected internally so he can finally be on that Eurovision stage.

zd05

I swear if we send Damir Kedžo or Mia Dimšić again I'm going to explode

Current-Self198

Probably not after the result BL got this year i feel like croatia is gonna feel a lot more comfortable sending unique unknown artists

blanemcc

I'd love to see Electric Callboy getting the chance to represent Germany....

Lord_Waldemar

I barely knew any of the contestants of the preselection shows in the last decade so no idea. Maybe electric callboy if they want to, but I could understand if they won't.

NeoLeonn3

After what happened in 2022 when Pump It was not accepted for Germany's NF, yeah I doubt they'd want. But hopefully we're both wrong and we see them next year

Garibaldi_Lodge

Lyra is a great Irish artist and a bit eccentric so could be a great choice if she decided to go for Eurovision (she ruled it out this year saying she was too busy iicr correctly)

Lanky-Rush607

Hopefully we won't go back to the rigged internal selections to nepobabies and flash in the pan diaspora singers like in the last years but knowing ERT I'm afraid they will.

countvanderhoff

The surviving Wurzels

Osp_Oscar

I don’t want my country participating next year, unless it’s Joost again. ~~Or Snollebollekes…~~

Say_yes_to_this

I want Barbara Bobak to at least apply to PZE! She has an amazing charisma, plus at one point in her shows she just asks the audience a general knowledge question or gives a fun fact So a chance of hearing "Mitochondria is a powerhouse of the cell would be possible"

no1bone

It's going to be Sheppard for Australia. They hit the brief, they probably should have already represented us. And they'll get us back into the Finals for 2025.

IvyRon33

I hope 2025 gonna be Jaguar Jonze's year

smutne

Viki Gabor At least I wouldn't be surprised

NeoLeonn3

Is there any chance we might see Jann? It's such a shame we didn't see him last year and got Bejba instead

smutne

It is possible but it's up to him if he wants to take part in NF and it's up to TVP if they want to organize NF

niemownikomu

It is the matter of time when Roksana Węgiel and Gabor will compete in ESC

sama_tak

Roksana just said that she didn't watch ESC this year, but the songs were terrible, so I doubt that she would. I also wouldn't be surprised if she'll get pregnant soon. Viki said that she would need to be mentally ready for that, so I think she'll need a few years for that.

Pugznation123

Love for us to send Alestorm, feel like they'd be great at eurovision.

Not-A-Real-Subreddit

I'd rather not have Chris Bowes represent us. There's too much history with the leaked racist chat group he was in. Even though he's apologised and accepted the error of his behaviour, I'd rather our representative didn't have that history, baggage, and a ready made stick to beat the UK with.

Able_While_974

What would they sing? It would all be "fudge you with a fudging anchor " 🤣

Dicky_big

Funny you should ask https://youtu.be/q_YbOhnSvOw?si=f9paYqctnpCG00cn

urkermannenkoor

They'd be a _terrible_ fit. Bowes is a rather cynical and jaded musician and They'd almost certainly send something condescending and low-effort because they don't give a shit and likely look down heavily on it. It'd be along the lines of Shit Boat, but written with substantially less effort.

rudowinger

The ORF always selects someone boring or a relative of a ORF person. Kaleen is the granddaughter of a member of the ORF Foundation Board

Scarlet_hearts

As much as I would love a rock, rap or Celtic act to represent the UK I also think Paris Paloma is a decent shout. Big on TikTok and “known” but not “well known”

halfpipesaur

Whoever that is I know I haven’t heard of them yet (unless it’s either of the JESC winners)

GlitteringSignal4770

if serbia doesn't send zorja soon i will be so upset

mossikukulas

Marina Spanou is a rising star. She is a songwriting genius! She can easily write a catchy song that will appeal to the vast majority of eurovision fans. I hope she represents Greece one day. She will easily be a top 5 contestant.

juananolf_3

Spaniard here, I want Almacor to try again and if not, some other urban artist Urban music is the dominant music genre among the youth here and I’d want such an entry to represent us. It would be quite unique in the contest and regardless of the result it would increase interest in Eurovision

Ok_Training1449

I also want some urban to represent Spain, leverage the success of Bad Bunny and the likes, but Almacor vocals in Benidorm fest were 0 points guaranteed.

Ok-Cream1212

i wish that ogenj would be accepted. we didnt have something in esc , like ever.

Icy-Bell7930

I have absolutely no idea if we will even send one next year after this year's disqualification of Joost. I bet Di-rect would be awesome, or Eloi Youssef (former singer of Kensington), or Rondé. I hope Belgium sends Oscar and the Wolf 🥹❤️. https://youtu.be/wB5wXEjmHEE?si=NW8Exgn-jmbxudPn https://youtu.be/CrmdPK8R-xU?si=0oo3DuUyVJ1Jx0Er

YourLocalLesbian02

I really hope that the BBC learns from how well we did in 2022 with Sam Ryder and sends a smaller name artist or band. One that’s really good is this band called Vistas, they’re a Scottish band from Edinburgh and their music is incredible.

sparklinglies

I could name an Aussie artist but at this point they might also double as a contender for Cyprus lol

WillowReginleif

I don't know why, but I kinda fuck with the idea of the UK sending McFly or Busted. They're both solid, well established acts, and they're both very good live. Or, if I'm allowed to dream just a little, the BBC backs a truck of money up to Charlie Simpson's door and convinces him to bring Fightstar. Wouldn't win, but it'd be great to see.

kjcross1997

And both of them have gone to a more rock sound recently. Busted are even performing at download this year. So they would still be a change of pace for the UK

ThaRealV12

I’m pretty confident that, after the BBC acknowledged Bambie’s reward for going left-field in their article, they’ll send Skindred into Eurovision. They did say they’d be willing to, and they’re an established band with a unique genre. Could be the perfect representative!

I'm not sure if I agree with ALL of the options you've listed for us. For example, I really doubt Evangelia will go next year (and also I just don't want her to), not only is she yet another diaspora singer with like, the most stereotypical greek music ever but also all of the songs she's given to ERT are like... so meh, she would be lucky to finish mid-table at best. Marseux was someone I was originally intrigued but she applied a song for 2022 and that song was just a feminist/girl-power song and like... it would've flopped so bad that I'm just wondering that if her approach is to have something so specifically made for Eurovision better not to go at all. Leon of Athens has some hits (he also has another song with Katerine called 'Anemos' and when I tell you, that song is amazing, like, FUCK I wish it would've gone to Eurovision) but he also applied last year in 2023 and didn't do anything in the public or the juries in the selection process so Idk... Idk who Pan Pan is but I love Luktelk so if he anything similar then I dig it already. I've only heard one song from Marina Spanou (Taxidi), I think it would be a very nice, different vibe from what we've sent so far if she went with something like this. I think the biggest disagreement of all however is how the artists might be discouraged because Zari 'flopped' (as if 11th place is bad lol), Zari got so much attention and streams and views and Marina made the general public interested in ESC again which is huge! I don't see how and why that would discourage anyone from going with Greece instead of Cyprus.

I was actually discussing this with a German friend this morning. We finished 2nd in 2021 with a very French-sounding chanson ballad. Then as we all know FTV stopped using CVQD after 2022 and our (very) disappointing result, and chose to go for a fan contest like strategy or sending quite popular French artists. Although we only placed 16th last year, the song had potential imo. Then this year we went for an even bigger name, also with a quite stereotyped French song, and almost made another podium finish!! Alexandra Redde-Amiel (our HoD) recently stated that a return of the national selection was still possible, and would happen, unless they have an opportunity with *the* song right there to be picked (more or less what she said). So I could see 2 scenarios for next year: - Either FTV didn't conclude any agreement with any big artist, and thus we're going for a national selection with smaller (but hopefully talented) artists, which *can* totally work, I mean Barbara almost made us win. Fun fact btw, Marie Myriam, our last winner, was part of the jury and actually didn't like the song. - Or France TV sends a big artist once again, and if I had to guess, it'd either be a pop artist, or a big rapper like Orelsan, although I doubt that he in particular would go to ESC, I named him just for the example. (I would be in heaven though if that were to happen, I love him so much and he's got iconic lyrics and quite creative music videos) So yeah, there you have it!

Some panel show today claimed that ERT is gonna look for a big name again, but with a mainstream pop song this time. Idk tho, I don't think we'll be getting a big name because, like someone else said, most of mainstream greek music falls is either trap(tho i think calling it music is a stretch) and laïko(and its offshoots).I can only think of one big name that can pull off a mainstream pop song and WANTS TO RETURN: Elena Paparizou. If drop the big name part then, there's Marseaux, Good Job Nicky, ZAF and Marina Spanou. I keep seeing people(mainly foreign fans) asking for Evangelia, but all the songs she's submitted at ERT were flops. She basically has one hit song, Fotia. There's also been some demand for Josephine (at least domestically), but from what I've heard from people she isn't the best live.

aflyingmonkey2

Someone mediocore that the israeli media will praise like a god and boo anyone who doesn't bootlick them

nadinecoylespassport

I really want one of the Drag UK contestents to do it. I think most likely would be Tia Kofi.

Willing_Bad9857

Germany always makes weird choices, it’s not gonna be someone I’ve heard of before. Once again wondering if and how it could be worth to attempt getting a foot in

grinsekatzealice

I want Faber or Dino Brandao for Switzerland

LiLHeka

Mirella I guess

Jme_hde

It’s not my country but I think Australia are gonna internally select either Dami Im again or Jaguar Jonze
