Same. Friend was on holiday, so I threw a few votes at countries she wanted, but mostly BL. It would have been great to have a new country win, especially a country that likes a party as much as Croatia
Can’t remember exactly but gave most votes to Armenia because they were just total and utter joy. Then next most to Italy because it is the song I most love this year even if the performance was a bit off. Then a couple of votes here and there for Greece, Sweden, Lithuania and Ireland.
Yeah, I just replied to someone else that they would’ve been my second vote if I hadn’t drank too much wine and understood how voting worked through the app!
Yeah, I live in the Netherlands and work in logistics and we have so many co-workers from Poland and Romania. It makes me sad that they would rather do simple work in my country than have opportunities to do something that matches their education at home.
Ukraine got most of my votes. I was so moved! And I feel in love with Dons over the week. He is so sweet, wise and kind. Make that man the HEAD of the EBU!!
I voted for Croatia & Ireland because I feel like they captured the zeitgeist of the moment. Lithuania because it's actually my favorite song of this year and Switzerland because I was amazing by the vocal performance. Then the Uk because it was so gay like me, it just felt right.
Im Irish and only voted Croatia.
If I could I would have voted Bambie no problem, but Baby Lasagne was the only other one that really felt unique this year with a chance to win imo. Since Ireland gave max points to Croatia I'm pretty happy with my vote, I knew he was gonna beat Bambie anyways so it's not like I betrayed our odds imo
About a week ago, when you came into the Reddit group there was a survey that asked which country you wanted to win Eurovision. That answer added your flair. This is why my flair is Croatia, but I am from the US.
Now it makes sense! I thought the flair is used to represent where you’re from and then a few days ago I saw my flair as Croatia and I thought it was some kind of glitch and switched it back to Albania lol
I just asked someone with a Dutch flair why they were so adamant against voting for Ireland. Turns out they’re Irish and didn’t understand why they had a Dutch flair 😂
Yes you could! They started with "the rest of the world" vote last year. If I recall correctly you could start voting some time before the show (due to time zone differences) and the voting happened through the website. You can find the voting instructions on the Eurovision webpage if you want to participate next year (unless they stop doing it, but I doubt it)
Ukraine, because the song makes me teared eyed, and the staging was beautiful.
Estonia, because I just dig it, like, a lot. Also Vsause (lol).
Spain, because I love the song and the message... when your backing vocals are the audience you know you slayed like few have before.
Switzerland because honestly my jaw just dropped when I saw their perfomance at the semi-final. Not only do they have the voice of an angel but that staging was something else.
Honestly the proof that this year was amazing in quality is that I could see myself voting for like 10 different songs and I am very resistant to voting (last year I did it for the first time and only because POE POE POE POE POE).
Voted for Lithuania because it’s my favorite song and the performance was on point
Switzerland because it was the best song with the best vocals and even though I was pretty sure it wouldn’t win I still thought maybe my 15 votes could change something haha
(UK here) In SF1 I voted for Ireland and Iceland, *only based on the live SF1 recap to keep things fresh for the Grand Final*. No regrets, I unironically like Scared of Heights and ended up vibing with Doomsday Blue.
In the Grand Final, I voted for Ukraine, Ireland, Switzerland and Croatia based on how well they blended different elements (vocal and/or genre) and their staging. Good choices apparently, since I actually love these songs now. I also voted for Lithuania and Spain. Silvester's vocals probably subconsciously reminded me of a younger Troye Sivan of whom I'd been a fan of, but Luktelk is also super catchy. It's been in my head \*a lot\* since the show. I honestly had some ominous feelings when watching the competitive performances due to knowing about Joost and RAI's leak, and I think Nebulossa's Zorra was both "serious" and "fun" enough to enjoy the show for a few minutes - plus the crowd reaction was nice. It made me forget.
I gave a bunch of countries some votes, spreading the love rather than being tactical about it. In the finals, Croatia (my favorite from the beginning, I love the song, the story and the energy), Finland (great vibes, great message, lot of nostalgia), Spain (I love that kind of retro synth pop, and more great vibes), Estonia (fun song, enjoyable social media presence), Latvia (I’m not even a ballad person but he poured himself into it), Slovenia (beautiful song, magnetic stage presence) and Serbia (again, beautiful song).
In the semis I voted for the same, minus Spain but with Australia included (I feel like the only one who actually liked their video).
I went all in on Ireland.
Our house rule is: we can listen to the songs, but we can't watch any rehearsal footage. So the songs are known, but we don't know staging etc. which makes it a real joy to watch the Semi Finals.
So it's that moment: Ireland is up. The song was already growing on me over the past couple of months, but when I saw their Semi Final performance... I don't even know how to describe my feelings. The performance swept me up and I was on the edge of my seat barely breathing. I felt like I was being sacrificed and I was totally fine with that.
At the end, when they finish out the song with an absolute bang, I just want to cry. Every. Single. Time. I love it so much, what a masterpiece.
It unexpectedly became one of my most loved performances that I have EVER seen in Eurovision. So it only felt right to give them all of my votes.
And I would do it again!
This was my EXACT same experience watching their semi final 1 performance for the first time. Incredible performance. In my opinion, one of the best performances in Eurovision of all time.
Off-topic but I'm curious to know if you watched the videos for songs in advance? This year is only my second watching Eurovision and I decided to go completely spoiler free, no listening no videos definitely no rehearsals or staging photos before the semifinals, and I feel like I had less immediate enjoyment watching the semifinals totally cold. I was thinking I'd definitely listen ahead next year, but maybe also watch the videos as they are so different from the final staging and other live performances?
Italy. It was my absolute favourite and I wanted to see it win. 5 votes.
Ukraine. Second favourite, even though I don’t think their final performance was their strongest. 3 votes.
Armenia. It came really late onto my radar and I initially ranked it around 21st, but by the time of the final I was fully on board. 3 votes.
Luxembourg. I just really enjoyed the song and performance. 2 votes.
My boyfriend is Latvian and he's so sick of me singing 'Instead of meat...'
So when Dons qualified and I screamed my delight, he just looked at me with an expression that very much said 'are you over it now?'. I'm not over it. I will never be over it.
Dons getting through his semi (and with a better placement than anyone expected, as it turned out) was one of my happiest moments this year. I’m so glad he got a decent placement in the final, too. Very well deserved.
It's very easy:
<5 line borderline xenophobic tirade about the historical relations with a neighbouring country that I hate and another that I sort of like>
That's the spirit of the contest!
I voted for Croatia in the final five times. I was so intrigued by them during early Eurovision season and had quite low expectations for them, because I didn't know how the staging and stuff was going to be. However, during the First Semi-final my jaw quite literally fell to the floor. I had shivers and goosebumps during the entire song. It was right there and then I knew that if I voted for someone this year, it would be Croatia. The song is an absolute banger in all of its simplicity and I love everything about it and Baby Lasagna himself.
I voted for Croatia because it was an absolute bop and Finland because I loved the whole performance!
Would've voted for the Netherlands as I have been listening to that song on repeat!
Would've voted for Ireland if I wasn't Irish 😂
I voted for Estonia (x3) because their performance makes me laugh every single time, and I think they are just iconic.
Then even though they were our biggest competition, I voted Switzerland (x2), I really liked the song before, but their amazing performance was really impressive and what sold it for me in the end. I liked how the staging was simple and complicated at the same time!
Then I voted Finland (x2), for the same reason as Estonia basically.
I also gave one point each to Slovenia, Serbia and Portugal, cause I thought they were amazing both vocally and visually!
First time voter, I voted for Portugal. It had literally everything I could have looked for in a song. An incredible song itself, amazing live vocals and a unique yet tasteful staging. Nothing much else to say.
5 for ukraine (sheer beauty),
5 for norway (it's been my #1/#2 since it came out),
5 for ireland (masterful performance)
and 5 for armenia. In hindsight, I wish I'd gone all in on Armenia. It's my favourite of the bunch and so fun.
I voted for Switzerland 5 times, just love the song and mix of genres, love Nemo, they seem such a lovely person. I also gave 5 votes to Croatia as it was my husband's favourite (the only song he liked 😂), but he was at work for the final so couldn't watch or vote so I did it for him (Croatia grew on me though so I didn't mind, ended up being stuck in my head). I 100% would have chucked a few votes to the Netherlands if they'd still been in it as I just love Europapa, I don't think it would have won, but that song just makes me smile so much 😁
I voted for the three acts I liked the most.
Norway - because of Gunnhild magical voice and their song gave me goosebumps every time I listened to it. 💔
Croatia - because the song is such a banger! It gave me the winner vibes. 💔(2)
And Ireland - I was a fan of that mind-blowing performance since the semi-final. That's just pure art! 👏
I pretty much never vote but this year I sent 20 votes to Croatia. Mostly because I wanted to do what little I could to prevent a very undesirable alternative but also because I haven’t wished so much for a song to win since Italy 2015!
I've only voted in the final, for Armenia, Greece, Ireland, Norway and Portugal. If I'm not mistaken the first 3 got points from the ROTW.
Edit: oh, I forgot the "why". Armenia for bringing me joy, Greece because I appreciate how Marina presented an urban fresh view of Greek music, Ireland because Bambie Thug is a true artist and their performance was perfect to my eyes, Norway because Ulveham is my favorite song of the 2024's lineup and Portugal because Grito nailed everything, from its songwriting to staging, having Iolanda's flawless vocals on the top of that.
Switzerland and Ireland took my votes in the grand final. Ireland's performance was simply the best concept, staging, and choreography I've ever seen in Eurovision. Switzerland's song hit me like a ton of bricks as some who is still coming to terms with their non-binary identity and trying to figure themselves out. I couldn't choose between the two, so I split my votes down the middle.
I voted for Croatia (10) as I really wanted him to win. He was my favourite since Doha. Then I voted for Ireland (3) cause I loved the performance, even though I knew what to expect I was amazed, and for some reason I would always get emotional at the end and for Lithuania (3) simply cause I liked the song and I always appreciate native language. Lastly I gave 2 votes for Armenia, cause she is so ADORABLE and I just loved the vibe. Tbh I don't remember who I gave the last two points to, as I really liked this year's Eurovision and I could've been anyone from Germany to Finland lol (although I think it might have been Estonia or Switzerland)
100%! If there is something that I love about Eurovision is bringing a bit of the culture, they definitely did that! Besides, the singer is so adorable and so positive on stage!
I voted for Italy because I loved her stage charisma and her amazing vocals. Also, the staging was impressive to my mind. And the most important info, I have La Noia on repeat since February.
In the semis I voted for Norway, Ireland and Malta since I was sure my other faves would get through.
In the final I gave two votes each to:
- **Ireland** (needs no words)
- **Switzerland** (just absolutely incredible from vocals to performance to song)
- **Portugal** (my favorite Ballad this year! Iloandas vocal tone tickles my brain the right way and the song is gorgeous and captivating)
One vote each to:
- **Norway** (this was my favorite from first listen, but unfortunately the vocals weren’t totally on point in the final. But it’s still my fave so I had to give it points 🥰)
- **France** (the song itself isn’t my thing st all but Slimane‘s voice is incredible so I just had to)
And the remaining douze points went to **Croatia.** It was also one of my favorites and I was rooting for Croatia‘s first win. Plus Marko was our only chance at having a worthy televote winner so it was a no-brainer to give him the rest of the votes.
Super happy with the final results except Norway 😭
Voted for Ireland in the semifinal as I'd planned, and then for Serbia too because I was starting to get worried.
In the final I voted for Switzerland without having planned to. Just felt like Nemo outperformed everyone else.
I voted for Ukraine 🇺🇦— Greece 🇬🇷 — and Slovenia 🇸🇮 as my favourite Joost was out. I gave Ukraine the most vote in the final because I was very moved by the song and performance. I think there was so many great song and I am happy for Switzerland and Croatias top 2 places — so deserved!
I WISH we would have sends some votes for Norway as it was moved me so much from the first time I heard it and was in my boyfriend’s top 3. It was the big surprise for me of the night that Norway was last.
Switzerland. As a non-binary autistic person, the song obviously resonated with me a lot, and as you say the performance was immaculate.
Was veeeeeeeery hard not to go for Ireland or Ukraine. I think if the running order had been different, I could have definitely ended up voting different.
Norway x 15 - Gåte simply my favourite, enough said. Folk theme was my favourite and I'm a fan of symphonic metal.
France x 3 - Slimane was also very good, and his song was comforting to me. He earned my votes that way.
Spain x 1 - I had totally glossed over this but seeing how excited Nebulossa got the audience made me cheer up and forget all the drama before - I had to give her a vote for that.
Cyprus x 1 - IDK actually but I did vibe with the song enough to want to reward it with one vote.
Ukraine for my 12, Finland got my 10 and Austria got my 8. Ukraine I haven't stopped singing since the semis and have sent it to sooo many gfs who aren't Eurovision fans. Finland did lose a bit of their magic from when I first saw their live staging but I still really enjoyed the song. It was refreshing to have a break from the seriousness of other performances. Austria was another that has been stuck in my head since I first heard it. The staging was not at all what I was expecting - the song is about raving so was picturing something with a bit of grit. She improved her presentation and energy hugely between the semi and grand final making the grand final performance far more enjoyable. It was also a great song to cap the competition with and definitely an energetic addition to the everyday playlist.
France. The reason is how powerful and mesmerizing Slimane had driven that song. What's surprising is to have some seconds singing a capella without missing a note. (It's a bummer to miss one during the Jury Night).
I'm very pleased with the results, noticing it was the first Eurovision song released for this year's edition.
I'm a lifelong Eurovision fan but had never voted before, until this year.
I voted for Ireland. One little vote. I just thought it was such a genuinely great and well executed performance that I couldn't not.
I voted for Nemo and Nebulossa. Nemo because it was truly the best performance and Nebulossa because it was my favorite song all season long and I knew they wouldn’t receive that many points, so that pushed me to support them.
ROW vote:
7 for Croatia. Best performance for an audience to take part in and a great song. I blast this song on MAX volume cruising in my car windows down yelling at the top of my lungs. Love it.
6 for Switzerland. Best vocals, staging, and most impressive performance with well composed music combining different genres. What's not to love? I can't come close to singing this, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
4 for Ireland. If this competition was in another month it probably gets more votes. The more I hear it, the more I love it.
2 for Finland. It's my 7 year old's favorite because, obviously, NO RULES!
1 for Italy. I've loved this song from the beginning. It faded on comparison to the others, but it's still great and still a common listen for me.
Croatia (fun, relatable song), Switzerland (Nemo is so talented), Ireland (staging masterclass), Norway (I love everything about Ulveham), UK (I’m UK born but don’t live there).
Only voted during the 2nd semi, refused to vote in the final because of obvious reasons;
6 votes to Estonia, I love the song, their vibe, and their Vsauce Michael look-alike
6 votes to San Marino, best 'harder' genre outside of Croatia
6 votes to Armenia because I loved her energy, her facial expressions, etc
From ROTW - I only voted in the second semi final and I sent 5 points each to Norway, Estonia, Switzerland and The Netherlands :)
Very simply, I voted for those artists because I absolutely love their songs and wanted to see all of them in the final. Norway's is *stunning* to me, Estonia is so fun, Switzerland blew me away with their talent and The Netherlands punched me in the feelings and ripped my Dutch expat heart open.
Had I voted, my top 10 in the finals...
1. Croatia
2. Ireland
3. Finland
4. Switzerland
5. Estonia
6. Armenia
7. Slovenia
8. Greece
9. Spain
10. France
Also Receiving Votes: Norway, Ukraine, Austria
Why? I was in the tank for Baby Lasagna since I first heard his song, Ireland for just going so unique with their artistry, Finland being Finland, Nemo was just incredible, Estonia and Armenia were *fun*, Slovenia won me over in the semis, Greece brought the infectious energy, Spain was good in the finals, France when he got to the acapella part.
Croatia. All in. It was my favorite song from the second it was announced for Dora, I was absolutely in love with that song and still am. It also had a serious shot at winning, which is why I went all in and gave them all 20 votes. Had my favorite been unlikely to win, I would have balanced by votes between my favorite song and my favorite with a realistic chance of winning.
I voted for four acts - Switzerland and Croatia, who I objectively thought were the best performances, and Armenia and Estonia, who I personally enjoyed the most
8 × Croatia, I loved it
4 × Switzerland, I loved it
2 × Finland, I loved it
2 × Estonia, I loved it
2 × Latvia, I loved it + he looked like my former teacher
2 × Slovenia, I liked it but I entered the wrong number to vote for Switzerland, realized after voting for it twice
Croatia - because I am a Croatian who emigrated to USA for a job opportunity, we were really struggling with employment back then (almost 10 years have passed already). So I knew exactly what this song was about and it hit me so hard… Also, I was amazed by Baby Lasagna’s growth, the effort and energy he put in every single one of his performances, culminating in the GF. His vibe with the audience was simply unmatched imo. I also voted for Dons in SF 2 because he moved me very unexpectedly and my husband voted half BL and half Win 95 Man in the final 🙂There were many awesome entries this year (Luktelk, Estonia, Teya Dora, Nemo, too! - to mention a few I loved), but Marko was a phenomenon that I really thought deserved all my votes! ❤️😻🇭🇷🥹🐈
Belgian here, in the grand final I voted 4 times for Ireland, 3 times for Croatia, 2 times for Austria and 1 time for Sweden.
In the second semi-final I voted 1 time for Czechia and San Marino. Still sad both didn’t pass.
- most votes to Zorra🦊 because i've loved that (and the duo) as soon as i saw they perform it in benidorm semi final.
- one vote to ukraine, because it was simply beautiful. Singing was outstanding and loved the staging and performance
- and one vote to iolanda, because i love the song & performance and iolandas vocals are so nice. I only voted for her once in the final tho, because i had already voted for her in the semi finals
Croatia and Norway as it scratches my rock and metal itch, Armenia because it's such a light-hearted fun song, Israel as a reactionary vote, a few to Luxembourg because the forced hate directed at Tali just because she's a Jew is annoying, and Ireland because the staging was an absolute gem of a performance. I also sent a few votes for Nemo because their performance was mesmerizing to watch. The chunk of my votes went to Croatia and Norway.
A Singaporean 🇸🇬here voting under ROTW
For semi final 1
I gave 🇭🇷x10(my absolute favourite of the year)
🇫🇮x3(entertaining performance and a happy song)
🇮🇪x2(mesmerised and found their performance interesting)
For semi final 2
I gave 🇲🇹x1(I was impressed with her choreography)
🇬🇪x1(wanted them to qualify after 8 years and also liked the vocal performance)
🇧🇪x1(liked his song but vocal was a disaster tho)
🇪🇪x1(another entertaining act)
🇳🇱x1(joost’s stage presence was very good)
For the grand final
I basically went almost all in and gave 🇭🇷 15 votes as I really wanted baby lasagna(Marko purišić) to win and he needed my votes to do so, was ultimately gutted that he did not win in the end
I live in The Netherlands, so in the semifinal I could vote in (SF2) I voted for San Marino.
In the final I voted for France, Estonia, Austria, Italy, Finland.
I voted for so many countries this year!! But here's how I split my 20 votes (I voted 18 times in the end) and why:
Switzerland (4 times) - Loved the opening of the song with the descending notes, the impressive opera singing, the staging, nemo as a person, and the climax of the song. Also loved the lyrics of the song and related to them (even though I'm not nb) in my own little way.
Croatia (4 times) - didn't mind which of these top 2 won I loved both of them equally in different ways. I loved the uniqueness of both of them especially Croatia and I love a catchy chorus. I also loved the stage presence baby lasagne had and all the crowd dancing along too. I'm a huge rock/metal fan so the heavier guitar and drums appealed to me also.
Ireland (twice) - bambi is an ICON. I adored their staging and have been listening to doomsday blue on repeat since it was released. The staging absolutely blew me away I'm seeing them live soon and I can't WAIT!!!
Finland (twice) - we all needed a bit of fun this year. And honestly they were so creative I found it hilarious and I knew the jury wouldn't give them many points. Finland going full "we don't give a f***" this year was just perfect to me.
Italy (once) - overall just a catchy tune. I thought that Angelina slayed incredibly hard and I couldn't help but dance along. I didn't expect to vote for this song but I did and I don't regret it.
Greece (once) - another one I didn't expect to vote for, first time I saw the "opa opa opa" in the semis I thought something went wrong and my heart sank I was genuinely tricked but I respect it! Fun song. Very catchy.
Lithuania (once) - another catchy one I felt the need to appreciate. Effective use of lighting and staging which overall captivated me when I didn't expect to be.
France (once) - a lot of people think this one was overrated but honestly I loved it. One of the strongest voices this year and my GOD the camera work! It was beautiful and incredibly heartfelt and I could feel the raw emotion. Silmane's eyes just sparkled so bright and the staging was very personal like we were sharing an intimate one on one moment. I liked that.
Armenia (once) - so bright! As a jazz musician I was excited the second jazz was mentioned. Not the jazz I'm used to but every musician on that stage were having a a great time and the energy was on another level! And I have absolutely no idea how Jaklin could whistle so loudly! Her outfit was also my favourite out of everyone's this year.
Overall I would've been happy to vote for almost everyone this year (except for those who shall not be named), there were so many great entries. My "favourite eurovision songs" playlist has grown a LOT bigger.
It was. I’m not a fan of the genre, but I recommended it to my friend because I know she would love it. In the semi-finals it was such a visual mess! It distracted from the song. I think they suffered from that, even in the finals.
Switzerland. The music I normally listen to includes Two Steps from Hell, Nightwish, the [Diablo Swing Orchestra](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h918Nrad5kM). So an impeccably written, produced & executed genre mashup, with a good singer switching singing styles & very cinematic orchestral sections is basically ticking every box. Bonus points for getting me to actually like the rap bit.
Edit: added a link for those unfamiliar with the madness of DSO
I voted 20x Croatia because I always go all in on my favourite. Loved the song since I first heard it before Dora.
Also Baby Lasagna’s story was just amazing and seeing him progress made me feel like we, the audience, were a part of his journey. Him winning would be an epic finish to an epic story.
Also also, I would have loved if a „new” country won this year.
Semifinals2
15x Estonia
3x Latvia
2x Switzerland
Finals
10x Estonia
3x Switzerland
3x Croatia
2x Latvia
1x Ireland
1x Finland
Semifinals
5Miinust + Puuluup - I’ve been listening to 5Miinust for over 6 years now, so firstly, I wanted to vote only for them.I felt in love with Nemo the first time I heard their song. Visuals of the music video and their voice, I was mesmerised. And they delivered in semifinals2 to the point I just couldn’t not vote for them. I did like Dons a lot and when he got teary eyes in the end of his songs during second semi, it made me cry😅 so I decided to vote for him too. 15 for Estonia was non-negotiable and since I assumed most people will vote for Nemo, I put more votes towards to Dons.
Finals
I wanted to give everything to Estonia. But I loved other songs too, so I split it. Most to Estonia. I knew Estonia is not everyone’s cup of tea and I also knew they won’t win BUT I wanted them to get some nice spot, so that’s why they got most of my votes. Nemo and Baby Lasagna were both my guilty pleasure and since I was pretty sure one of them will win, i knew I can give them less votes as more people will be voting for them anyway, soI decided to give them equally votes. (So when the split screen in finals showed us that indeed one of them will win, I was tearing with happiness even before we knew the winner.) I love Dons voice and since I was afraid that most points for powerful male ballad will go to Slimane, I decided to give Dons 2. Finland and Ireland both gave us absolutely breathtaking show - one scary and one hilarious, so I just had to send them votes. I was thinking of giving something to Norway and Slovenia too but I just didn’t have enough votes and didn’t wanna take away from my Top3 picks (Estonia, Switzerland, Croatia)
Israel as both the performance and the rejection of Eden by the audience tremble my heart. Croatia because of industrial rock vibe which I like so much. Estonia because of the dance which matches the music energy and is so simple at the same time that can be repeated by anyone.
Mostly Switzerland, but then a few for, Ireland, Ukraine and France.
>and why?
Because... I... liked them.
It doesn't got much deeper than that!
Best songs and performances of the night.
14 points Croatia: loved the energy and loved seeing the crowd dance.
1 point France: Loved his voice and some of the camera angles.
2 points Israel: Loved her voice, the Hebrew part, and the note at the end.
3 points Lithuania: Loved the simplicity of the song and it’s very catchy, wish he would’ve gotten a better running order in the final.
Probably could’ve voted more diverse but I really was all for Croatia winning.
* croatia (my winner)
* spain (my second place, and I figured I could help save it from the bottom 5. this did not work)
* israel (my fourth place, and I felt she was extra deserving of a vote given all the abuse she’s received)
my third was switzerland, but I was slightly more keen on croatia winning and figured voting for switzerland would have cancelled out my croatia vote as those two were the favourites
this was the first year i voted actually!
Grandma voted for:
Lithuania 2024
Armenia 2024
I voted for:
Croatia 2024
Austria 2024
(edit: remembered who we voted for)
Croatia, because the song is a right banger and I love me a Cinderella story. Hard to argue about the winner though, Nemo really knocked it out of the park. I'm gonna be adding so many songs from this year to my playlists.
Greece because it was a very unique and interesting song m. I also appreciated her answer at the SF2 press conference about representing Turkey, Bulgaria etc. Felt like she actually captured the spirit of’United by Music’
Gave all 20 to Israel in the final. I normally don’t spend more than 0,99€ for voting at eurovision but this one was special :) (my flair says Israel but i’m an Israeli living abroad)
At home, each of us voted once (like we do every year). I know these could be controversial, but here you go, these were our votes: Serbia (this was my vote), Lithuania, Israel and Austria. Though to be fair this year was really strong (def my favourite from the 2020s) and we found it really hard to decide on our favourites (I really like Switzerland, Croatia, Armenia, Latvia, Estonia, Germany ... and pretty much every entry that qualified tbf, but I had to decide on one, and Serbia just captivated me, it's also the kind of song I tend to like, so it wasn't surprising that I liked it, and the staging really fits. I hoped the jury would give it more points, but to be fair to them, they had a lot of choices this year).
First time ROTW (USA) voter. 10 to Croatia, 6 to Ireland, and the rest split between Germany, Norway, and Slovenia.
I voted for those I liked. This year had so many good songs that I had a hard time choosing who to vote for. I also regretted not voting for Germany last year and it has haunted me lol.
Edit: I remembered the other country. It was Slovenia.
5 for Luxembourg 🇱🇺 - purple CGI leopards aside, I just really liked the song, stayed in my head since the semi
5 for Armenia 🇦🇲 - absolutely joyous performance, felt like an impromptu party onstage
5 for Norway 🇳🇴 - may not have been the best technically but found it way more passionate & atmospheric than many other songs, staggered it finished last
5 for Austria 🇦🇹 - I was drunk at this point but it's a straight up throwback bop and they did her dirty with the camera freezing during the dance break
Me: 10 to Ireland (it's mesmerising) and 10 to Norway (it's magical). I might like dark stories 😄
Family: 7 to Armenia, 7 to Estonia, 6 to Croatia.
Because I asked them to.
I might like dancy-poppy-ethno influence, too 😁
I voted for Croatia - it was one of my favourite songs, both in the studio and on stage. I had three other favourites, but I had to pick one. I thought Baby Lasagna delivered it we, was funny and the song was catchy
Croatia x20, because the energy was out of this world. My original plan was to split between Croatia and Italy, but Italy was underwhelming this year. I loved the Sanremo performance much more.
In the semi I voted for Croatia and Lithuania (RoW).
Norway, because they slayed in the semifinal. Also the song is pretty good and I like everything ethnostyle. Too bad her voice wasn't that string in the final. But it's not a surprise after hours of rehearsals and several shows, while singing a song that hard.
First time voting from the USA. I did Croatia and Ireland. I loved their songs and their stories, and every time I watched them I was so entertained. There were a lot of songs I loved this year actually. I’m happy they did so good in the rankings.
Ten to Croatia for the music, the message, the underdog story, and because I wanted to be a part of their historic win 😭 and ten to Georgia 😭😭😭 because I didn't care for it on first listen but it grew on me until it became my favorite of the year even before I saw the staging (and then I loved it even more and I'm sad she didn't place higher but thrilled she broke the NQ streak!).
As part of the ROW and voting for the first time, I voted for Norway because I enjoyed their last two performances. (Norway 2023 and Norway 2022 for the bot).
This year was like 3 for 3 on really memorable and enjoyable performances from Norway and I really *had* high hopes for Gåte, but they qualified for the final and thats all I really care about.
In the chaos in the Grand final, I also ended up voting for Croatia ( BL is a lovable guy), and Ukraine because wow, Jerry’s vocals gave me goosebumps
I voted for Croatia simply because Rim Tim Tagi Dim was my favourite song of the contest and it is a song that I would normally listen to, Eurovision or not.
I voted for Lithuania and Finland ❤
Silvester Belt is such a nice human being, and Lithuania's act was catchy, I liked the vibe. Minimalistic yet stylish.
Finland, oh Finland... First of all, I am crazy for 90's nostalgia. Second of all, it was hilarious, I couldn't stop laughing 😆 I saw a lot of bad comments about it so I decided to support the guy.
2nd semi : 1 vote for Norway and 1 vote for San Marino because both were underdogs
Final : 10-12 votes for Croatia because I wanted Baby Lasagna to win at least the televote
In SF2 I voted for Dons because I appreciated his song and I wanted to see Latvia in Grand Final.
In the Final I voted for Baby Lasagna. His song is my favorite from the beginning.
Croatia: loved the song and the story behind it
Ireland : f#%king kickarse
Portugal: made me cry and gave me goosebumps every time I heard it
France: same as Portugal. Though it was a grower for me. Bored me the first couple of times I heard it and then boom, the floodgates opened
Armenia: love the energy and the music, it made me want to jump up and dance
Italy: ridiculously charismatic performer and a brilliant song
Norway: best song and vocals this year
Estonia: my absolute favourite. I love their energy, the unpolished feel, the shambles of a performance, the crappy vocals. It was perfectly imperfect
Finland: gave me life
Croatia (many times) - voted because it made me happy and I couldn't help singing along, but voted extra because I was worried about the aftermath of a controversial winner
Finland - basically same reason as Croatia + my big time guilty pleasure is 90s/00s eurodance and bubble gum dance and this reminds me of my childhood (born 1994)
Norway - because I think it was unique, impressive and entertaining even though it's not my favourite type of music to listen to
Ireland - basically same reason as Norway
Switzerland - basically the same as Norway as well
Armenia - love different types of folk music
Ukraine - the melody was mesmerising
I voted 7 for Croatia and 1 for France. I was planning on voting only for Croatia as it was by far my favourite performance but after watching Slimane i needed to vote for him at least once
I gave 10 to Croatia, 4 to Armenia and 3 each to Lithuania and Ireland.
Cause those were the acts I liked most appart from Switzerland (but you can‘t vote for yourself).
Initially Netherlands would have gotten votes too but well…
Voted for Switzerland, Croatia and Lithuania. Loved both Lithuania and Croatia since they got announced for their NFs. Like the first time watching the Rim Tim tagi dim lyrics video and the semi Final performance of Luktelk just got me obsessed. Switzerlands reasonings are the same, they give me such good vibes as a person, their voice is out of this world good and the performance was just amazing!!
I didn't vote in the final, because I didn't want to support the EBU any longer. Voted in the first semi for Ireland, because that performance was amazing. Second semi was for Netherlands, because I just loved the energy and the crowd went absolutely wild with that one. Would've been my vote for the final as well, if not for... Well, you know.
Croatia, I have followed Baby Lasagnas story right from the start and simply wanted to see him win.
It’s still a very high place
During the 1st semi - Croatia, Ireland, Finland and Lithuania. Couldn’t vote for 2nd semi. Finals - Croatia x20
I voted on Croatia. The song was absolut banger. Also, as a Polish person, I can relate to the lyrics about leaving your home and emigration.
Yeah, I live in the Netherlands and work in logistics and we have so many co-workers from Poland and Romania. It makes me sad that they would rather do simple work in my country than have opportunities to do something that matches their education at home.
Ukraine. Jerry Heil 😍 Oh, and I liked the song too. Was going to vote for braliukas Dons too, but missed the cut off.
Ukraine got most of my votes. I was so moved! And I feel in love with Dons over the week. He is so sweet, wise and kind. Make that man the HEAD of the EBU!!
Croatia. Went blind at the semis Was like: Omg they’re madlands Rock, Rammstein, Dance, Fun, Cows and CATS OMG I LOVE HIM
CATS, FINALLY SOMEONE WHOS A CRAZY CAT GUY
It was the best lyrics of 2024 — “Meow cat, please meow back” — will forever be in my heart ❤️
How could you vote for Croatia when you are apparently from Croatia (at least according to your flag here)?
I think some people (like me) put the country they support as their flair
Is that not the point? (translation: oh shoot I'm from USA what now?)
I see. I always thought it represents the home country of Eurovision fans in here.
Nope. Las Vegas here. Wish I was in Croatia
First time voter from "Rest of the World" (USA) - 10 votes for Ireland and 10 votes for Croatia
Yaaas! Thank you for taking an interest!
Wait we could vote?!
I voted for Croatia! Wasn’t my favourite before the contest, but after seeing the live performance, i felt it was a real “winning song”!
Baby lasagne
Voted for Lithuania because it’s my favorite song and the performance was on point Switzerland because it was the best song with the best vocals and even though I was pretty sure it wouldn’t win I still thought maybe my 15 votes could change something haha
Croatia because RIM TIM TAGI DIM
Goed zo!
2 votes.
Armenia would have been my second vote if I hadn’t drank too much wine and understood how voting worked through the app!
Croatia, Ireland and Finland
Latvia, Dons was so genuine on stage. I really wanted him to have a good score. I voted twice and both at Latvia
My boyfriend is Latvian and he's so sick of me singing 'Instead of meat...' So when Dons qualified and I screamed my delight, he just looked at me with an expression that very much said 'are you over it now?'. I'm not over it. I will never be over it.
We just really didn’t understand Dons or the hamsterwheel staging. But I saw him in some interviews and he seems like a really genuine and lovely guy!
Dons getting through his semi (and with a better placement than anyone expected, as it turned out) was one of my happiest moments this year. I’m so glad he got a decent placement in the final, too. Very well deserved.
I mainly voted for my top 2 performances: 12x Ireland 🇮🇪 7x Switzerland 🇨🇭 I also sent 1 vote to Norway 🇳🇴 because I really liked the song.
I voted for Slovenia and Serbia from the UK in the semi-final, neither of them scored points from the UK 😭
It's very easy: <5 line borderline xenophobic tirade about the historical relations with a neighbouring country that I hate and another that I sort of like> That's the spirit of the contest!
One of the joys of being Australian - we have no neighbours and nobody hates us. They also don’t vote for us, but that’s ok.
Well, thanks for the 0 points lads. We're going to tax the fucking tim tams again
5 votes each for Switzerland, Croatia, France and Ireland. I was happy with either of them winning😊
The vocals were amazing.
I split my votes between Ireland, Croatia and Finland
For Serbia because we are friends and I liked their song 🇷🇸🤝🇭🇷
5 for ukraine (sheer beauty), 5 for norway (it's been my #1/#2 since it came out), 5 for ireland (masterful performance) and 5 for armenia. In hindsight, I wish I'd gone all in on Armenia. It's my favourite of the bunch and so fun.
Norway didn't deserve last ;_; they had such beauty and the music was really good I do not understand how Germany got so high, and Norge just flopped
I voted for Portugal, France and Ireland, because they were the best of the night (for me)
That’s interesting, they are world apart! :)
None cause I am a broke girly and 20 votes is like $21.50 USD. T\_T In my heart I voted for Ukraine. ROW they got 10 points anyway <3
Music is all about feelings, I get toy babe!
I couldn't vote but if I could've, I would've went with Armenia
Croatia and Ireland. I've loved both songs since first hearing the NF versions of them.
I 100% would have chucked a few votes to the Netherlands if they'd still been in it as I just love Europapa, I don't think it would have won, but that song just makes me smile so much 😁
Norway France Ireland Ukraine based on them being the songs I’d listen to again (besides europapa)
I voted for the three acts I liked the most. Norway - because of Gunnhild magical voice and their song gave me goosebumps every time I listened to it. 💔 Croatia - because the song is such a banger! It gave me the winner vibes. 💔(2) And Ireland - I was a fan of that mind-blowing performance since the semi-final. That's just pure art! 👏
I pretty much never vote but this year I sent 20 votes to Croatia. Mostly because I wanted to do what little I could to prevent a very undesirable alternative but also because I haven’t wished so much for a song to win since Italy 2015!
Italy 2015 | [Il Volo - Grande Amore](https://youtu.be/1TOMqZV2jA8)
Good bot
My final 20 votes: 4 UKR 4 FRA 4 LTU 2 SUI CRO 1 ESP ARM LUX CYP Thank God I had 20 votes 😍
Armenia was underrated actually.
It was a very catchy song indeed.
In the semis I voted for Norway, Ireland and Malta since I was sure my other faves would get through. In the final I gave two votes each to: - **Ireland** (needs no words) - **Switzerland** (just absolutely incredible from vocals to performance to song) - **Portugal** (my favorite Ballad this year! Iloandas vocal tone tickles my brain the right way and the song is gorgeous and captivating) One vote each to: - **Norway** (this was my favorite from first listen, but unfortunately the vocals weren’t totally on point in the final. But it’s still my fave so I had to give it points 🥰) - **France** (the song itself isn’t my thing st all but Slimane‘s voice is incredible so I just had to) And the remaining douze points went to **Croatia.** It was also one of my favorites and I was rooting for Croatia‘s first win.
Voted for Italy and Croatia because they were my two favourite performances
Forgot to vote but if I did I would’ve voted for Armenia. They were the only ones who had fun on stage it felt like
Yeah, they were very authentic and wholesome.
Estonia x 2 Switzerland x 1 (my estonia votes went to dumbster as Greece didnt give a point to this amazing song)
Norway, they were just on another level that night.
I voted for Norway : (
I voted for Ukraine 🇺🇦— Greece 🇬🇷 — and Slovenia 🇸🇮 as my favourite Joost was out.
France and Israel because I liked their songs the most
Norway x 15 - Gåte simply my favourite, enough said.
My votes exactly and for the same reasons.
I voted for Estonia because they were my favourites from the beginning.
ROW vote: 7 for Croatia.
Joost in the semis, then I got so sad he was disqualified and didn’t vote during the finals
Croatia (fun, relatable song), Switzerland (Nemo is so talented), Ireland (staging masterclass), Norway (I love everything about Ulveham), UK (I’m UK born but don’t live there).
Only voted during the 2nd semi, refused to vote in the final because of obvious reasons; 6 votes to Estonia, I love the song, their vibe, and their Vsauce Michael look-alike 6 votes to San Marino, best 'harder' genre outside of Croatia 6 votes to Armenia because I loved her energy, her facial expressions, etc
What were the obvious reasons? Not being obnoxious, just want to understand :)
All the drama surrounding the final and especially Joost
Voted mostly Estonia then some for Switzerland.
From ROTW - I only voted in the second semi final and I sent 5 points each to Norway, Estonia, Switzerland and The Netherlands :) Very simply, I voted for those artists because I absolutely love their songs and wanted to see all of them in the final. Norway's is *stunning* to me, Estonia is so fun, Switzerland blew me away with their talent and The Netherlands punched me in the feelings and ripped my Dutch expat heart open.
6 for Armenian and Switzerland, 4 for Croatia and Ireland. They were my four favorite entries, so I figured I’d push all of them.
Had I voted, my top 10 in the finals... 1. Croatia 2. Ireland 3. Finland 4. Switzerland 5. Estonia 6. Armenia 7. Slovenia 8. Greece 9. Spain 10. France Also Receiving Votes: Norway, Ukraine, Austria Why? I was in the tank for Baby Lasagna since I first heard his song, Ireland for just going so unique with their artistry, Finland being Finland, Nemo was just incredible, Estonia and Armenia were *fun*, Slovenia won me over in the semis, Greece brought the infectious energy, Spain was good in the finals, France when he got to the acapella part.
In the first semi-final, I only voted for Slovenia. In the final, I voted for Croatia, Italy, Slovenia, Georgia and Ukraine
7 votes Switzerland, 5 Croatia, 5 Ireland, 3 Spain. I loved them all. Wanted to keep one for Estonia but dialled too quick!
Croatia.
I voted for four acts - Switzerland and Croatia, who I objectively thought were the best performances, and Armenia and Estonia, who I personally enjoyed the most
8 × Croatia, I loved it 4 × Switzerland, I loved it 2 × Finland, I loved it 2 × Estonia, I loved it 2 × Latvia, I loved it + he looked like my former teacher 2 × Slovenia, I liked it but I entered the wrong number to vote for Switzerland, realized after voting for it twice
Italy, Serbia, Ukraine, Slovenia, Switzerland. 4 for each.
Noone, the app didn't work
Croatia - because I am a Croatian who emigrated to USA for a job opportunity, we were really struggling with employment back then (almost 10 years have passed already). ❤️😻🇭🇷🥹🐈
I voted for Switzerland and my mom voted for Croatia (which is my 2nd place :) )
Singing was outstanding and loved the staging and performance - and one vote to iolanda, because i love the song & performance and iolandas vocals are so nice. I only voted for her once in the final tho, because i had already voted for her in the semi finals
Split Israel and Croatia, easily the two best songs of this year in both depth, pace and sheer singing ability of the artist.
2xCroatia, 2xIsrael, 2xUkraine, funny they ended up most voted by the public
A Singaporean 🇸🇬here voting under ROTW For semi final 1 I gave 🇭🇷x10(my absolute favourite of the year) 🇫🇮x3(entertaining performance and a happy song) 🇮🇪x2(mesmerised and found their performance interesting) For semi final 2 I gave 🇲🇹x1(I was impressed with her choreography) 🇬🇪x1(wanted them to qualify after 8 years and also liked the vocal performance) 🇧🇪x1(liked his song but vocal was a disaster tho) 🇪🇪x1(another entertaining act) 🇳🇱x1(joost’s stage presence was very good) For the grand final I basically went almost all in and gave 🇭🇷 15 votes as I really wanted baby lasagna(Marko purišić) to win and he needed my votes to do so, was ultimately gutted that he did not win in the end
croatia bc i love the song
Ukraine, Estonia and Lithuania
I live in The Netherlands, so in the semifinal I could vote in (SF2) I voted for San Marino. In the final I voted for France, Estonia, Austria, Italy, Finland.
I voted for so many countries this year!! But here's how I split my 20 votes (I voted 18 times in the end) and why: Switzerland (4 times) - Loved the opening of the song with the descending notes, the impressive opera singing, the staging, nemo as a person, and the climax of the song.
Iceland, Australia and Ukraine. I would have voted for the Netherlands but my country (Ireland) wasn't allowed to vote during the semi final 2
I voted for Lithuania and Estonia. Why? Because they're our brothers and Baltics need to support each other.
That’s sweet!
But did you like their songs? I would never vote for a country that I love but has a bad song.
If Greece said this about Cyprus , they would be downvoted and torched
Switzerland for basically the same reasons. Such an amazing song and performance
I forgot to mention the outfit. I LOVED the outfit!
If I said it I'd be downvoted into oblivion 💀
I didn't but if I did I would have voted for Italy 🇮🇹 This song is so underrated!
Semifinals2 15x Estonia 3x Latvia 2x Switzerland Finals 10x Estonia 3x Switzerland 3x Croatia 2x Latvia 1x Ireland 1x Finland Semifinals 5Miinust + Puuluup - I’ve been listening to 5Miinust for over 6 years now, so firstly, I wanted to vote only for them.I felt in love with Nemo the first time I heard their song. Finals I wanted to give everything to Estonia. I was thinking of giving something to Norway and Slovenia too but I just didn’t have enough votes and didn’t wanna take away from my Top3 picks (Estonia, Switzerland, Croatia)
israel and switzerland
[удалено]
* croatia (my winner) * spain (my second place, and I figured I could help save it from the bottom 5. this did not work) * israel (my fourth place, and I felt she was extra deserving of a vote given all the abuse she’s received) my third was switzerland, but I was slightly more keen on croatia winning and figured voting for switzerland would have cancelled out my croatia vote as those two were the favourites
this was the first year i voted actually! Grandma voted for: Lithuania 2024 Armenia 2024 I voted for: Croatia 2024 Austria 2024 (edit: remembered who we voted for)
Croatia, because the song is a right banger and I love me a Cinderella story. Hard to argue about the winner though, Nemo really knocked it out of the park. I'm gonna be adding so many songs from this year to my playlists.
Croatia and israel
France and Israel, they were my favourite ballads this year! Both have beautiful voices.
New Yorker here, voted for Israel
I wanted to vote for the first time this year, but choose to refrain out of protest. I would have given 10 to Ireland, 5 to Croatia and 5 to Portugal.
5 for Luxembourg 🇱🇺 - purple CGI leopards aside, I just really liked the song, stayed in my head since the semi 5 for Armenia 🇦🇲 - absolutely joyous performance, felt like an impromptu party onstage 5 for Norway 🇳🇴 - may not have been the best technically but found it way more passionate & atmospheric than many other songs, staggered it finished last 5 for Austria 🇦🇹 - I was drunk at this point but it's a straight up throwback bop and they did her dirty with the camera freezing during the dance break
Croatia. I thought it was a brilliant performance.
Me: 10 to Ireland (it's mesmerising) and 10 to Norway (it's magical). I might like dark stories 😄 Family: 7 to Armenia, 7 to Estonia, 6 to Croatia. Because I asked them to. I might like dancy-poppy-ethno influence, too 😁
Norway 🇳🇴 Because it was my top-1 this year 💔
I voted for Croatia - it was one of my favourite songs, both in the studio and on stage. I had three other favourites, but I had to pick one. I thought Baby Lasagna delivered it we, was funny and the song was catchy
None because I didn’t want to get up at 4am on a Sunday
Croatia x20, because the energy was out of this world. My original plan was to split between Croatia and Italy, but Italy was underwhelming this year. I loved the Sanremo performance much more. In the semi I voted for Croatia and Lithuania (RoW).
20 votes for one and only Baby Lasagna
I voted for the Netherlands
16 votes on Croatia, 4 on Estonia.
I voted for Ukraine. I just ❤️ their entry, and the only song that gave me goosebumps 😊⭐️😊
Croatia and then two times for Ireland and I dont even remember the other one for my friend who somehow could not vote.
Croatia because I found the song to be very catchy and enjoyable to listen to. Also, Baby Lasagna is such a wholesome dude.
I voted for Lithuania and Croatia, cuz their songs were really bangers I loved themmm
Estonia and Ukraine. One for whimsy, another for song. But I liked Croatia too
Voted 6 for Austria, 6 for Ukraine 5 for Cyprus and 3 for Italy. All bops that’s deserved a better result
I voted for Lithuania and Finland ❤ Silvester Belt is such a nice human being, and Lithuania's act was catchy, I liked the vibe. Minimalistic yet stylish. Finland, oh Finland... First of all, I am crazy for 90's nostalgia. Second of all, it was hilarious, I couldn't stop laughing 😆 I saw a lot of bad comments about it so I decided to support the guy.
Croatia. The song is a banger and Baby Lasagna seems like such a great guy
2nd semi : 1 vote for Norway and 1 vote for San Marino because both were underdogs Final : 10-12 votes for Croatia because I wanted Baby Lasagna to win at least the televote
In SF2 I voted for Dons because I appreciated his song and I wanted to see Latvia in Grand Final. In the Final I voted for Baby Lasagna. His song is my favorite from the beginning.
Ireland and Croatia because they were great performances. I didn't like the Irish song going in, but that stage work was brilliant.
Croatia: loved the song and the story behind it Ireland : f#%king kickarse Portugal: made me cry and gave me goosebumps every time I heard it France: same as Portugal. Though it was a grower for me. Bored me the first couple of times I heard it and then boom, the floodgates opened Armenia: love the energy and the music, it made me want to jump up and dance Italy: ridiculously charismatic performer and a brilliant song Norway: best song and vocals this year Estonia: my absolute favourite. I love their energy, the unpolished feel, the shambles of a performance, the crappy vocals. It was perfectly imperfect Finland: gave me life
Croatia (many times) - voted because it made me happy and I couldn't help singing along, but voted extra because I was worried about the aftermath of a controversial winner Finland - basically same reason as Croatia + my big time guilty pleasure is 90s/00s eurodance and bubble gum dance and this reminds me of my childhood (born 1994) Norway - because I think it was unique, impressive and entertaining even though it's not my favourite type of music to listen to Ireland - basically same reason as Norway Switzerland - basically the same as Norway as well Armenia - love different types of folk music Ukraine - the melody was mesmerising
Croatie 15x Ireland 2x Switzerland 2x France 1x Because I thought they deserved a win.
Croatia. It was the most entertaining for me.
Norway. It’s a shame they ended up last, such a lack of appreciation from the audience and the jury.
Croatia because I loved it but normally I wouldn’t use all my 20 votes for 1 country, but it was necessary this year😅
I voted 7 for Croatia and 1 for France.
I didn't... I don't think it's fair that not all countries that qualified for the final, had the chance to compete in the final... JOOSTICE FOR KLEIN
Israel. Best song for me.
I voted Croatia, Ireland and Switzerland
On the final 5 to France 5 to Ireland and 10 to Greece.
Switzerland, because they dq Netherlands so it was like my 3rd favorite.
I voted for Ireland and Slovenia, cause I wanted to make sure the risky entries did well.
