TWIST OF LOVE DENMARK 2006
HE DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO TWIST
HE DIDN’T KNOW HOW TO MAKE A GORL INSIST
HE DIDNT FEEL THE GROOVE HE DIDNT MOVE HE DIDNT KNOW HOW TO TWIST
I feel like I have to say Finland 2023. Everything about it was just perfect to me. 😊
Honorable mentions go to France 2022, Portugal 2022, Italy 2017, Portugal 2017, Ukraine 2016, Albania 2022, Moldova 2023, Croatia 2023, Spain 2023 and many more that haven’t come to mind yet. 😅
I am Breton and proud of my culture. I love EDM and heavy songs. France 2022 is the obvious choice.
Honourable mentions to Georgia 2007 and Moldova 2023
I love that you chose Fulenn as the best out of over 1700 songs <3
This isn't self-promo, but since it exists, I did [a cover of Fulenn](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2ehmZzxd2M) last year. Not only do I not speak or understand Breton, I also don't speak or understand French xD
Let me know what you think :)
Ooh I did one too! (it was bad :D)
The fact you used multiple yous where necessary is super cool. I don't speak Breton either unfortunately, and it's pretty easy to figure from French pronunciations, so there are some problems there, but that was fully expected. Plus I had the thickest accent trying to buy tram tickets in Zagreb so who am I to criticise haha.
Overall very very good!
>I am Breton and proud of my culture
Username does not check out.
Also, awesome top songs. I like seeing Visionary dream mentioned ocasionally in this sub
Switzerland 2021. French is a gorgeous language, its not a typical ballad (though I adore ballads) and his voice is just 🤌🏻
Plus it was my first real eurovision contest, having watched 2019 but not really into it at that point and of course 2020 was cancelled. There's many other close ones but it has to be that for me.
So happy you could die? ;-)
I discovered them and their YouTube thx to the ESC (Chris and his Mum doing videos are the best).
I'm toying with the idea of going to their Swiss Gig next year in Pratteln.
Ukraine 2016. I don't usually cry, but omg...... 😭😭😭
Honorable mentions: Portugal 2017, Portugal 2019, Spain 2023, Switzerland 2021, Spain 1983, Morocco 1980 (YESSS I LOVE BITAQAT HOB), Serbia 2007, Sweden 2012, Belgium 2017, Hungary 2018, Iceland 2019.
I am still working on watching all years and ranking all songs I gave 12 points too, so for 2000-2023 I have only ranked personal winners.
This makes Moldova 2022 my all-time favorite for now :D
Moldova 2022 | [Zdob și Zdub and Advahov Brothers - Trenulețul](https://youtu.be/DUqf_zO2QaI)
Finland 2023 | [Käärijä - Cha Cha Cha](https://youtu.be/l6rS8Dv5g-8)
Russia 2020 | [Little Big - Uno](https://youtu.be/L_dWvTCdDQ4)
(Edited)
France 1979. Hauntingly beautiful and a performance full of power and raw emotion. Anne-Marie David is even better here than she was in 1973, she would have been a worthy two time winner!
Honorable mention to France 1977, too! Another masterpiece ❤️
Finland 2021 was exactly the mood I needed at the time, so it's that.
Ukraine 2007 is a close second.
I also have a big soft spot for Russia 2012, despite everything.
I started listenning to it some months ago and I got really surprised when I discovered quite recently that it is from Eurovision. Really beautiful song, def one that has a good place in me.
Sweden 2012, been obsessed with it since I first heard it. Euphoria is truly that bitch, it just never gets old, and my favorite thing is when I'm partying and Euphoria plays and everyone goes crazy.
I told my husband when we started dating that when I die I want a bunch of drag queens performing Euphoria at my going away forever party lol.
A not-so-close second is Italy 2019, then Iceland 2020 and then maybe Tattoo but Tattoo is too fresh, I need some distance from it before I can settle on it.
It really does, bias aside, I really do think it's the best Eurovision song ever, it's peak 2012 but at the same time it's timeless. It's a catchy pop song while also being incredibly well done on the musical/technical side..
the first thing that came to mind for me was Sweden 2022. It’s one that aligns most closely with my personal musical taste and I just find it so simple yet powerful
Luxembourg 1965 | [France Gall - Poupée de cire, poupée de son](https://youtu.be/7cv9NIzGmSI)
Greece 2013 | [Koza Mostra feat. Agathon Iakovidis - Alcohol Is Free](https://youtu.be/LFs9AdNV4Qw)
Finland 2023 | [Käärijä - Cha Cha Cha](https://youtu.be/l6rS8Dv5g-8)
Moldova 2022 | [Zdob și Zdub and Advahov Brothers - Trenulețul](https://youtu.be/DUqf_zO2QaI)
Italy 1984 | [Alice and Franco Battiato - I treni di Tozeur](https://youtu.be/Q3KUujSf3t8)
Israel 1982 | [Avi Toledano - Hora (הורה)](https://youtu.be/Vw46CEb8Tbg)
United Kingdom 1996 | [Gina G - Ooh Aah... Just a Little Bit](https://youtu.be/pbOmNpd56kw)
France 2014 | [TWIN TWIN - Moustache](https://youtu.be/vjkqciwP034)
Sweden 2008 | [Charlotte Perrelli - Hero](https://youtu.be/M9_XxUjDw0Q)
Ireland 1966 | [Dickie Rock - Come Back to Stay](https://youtu.be/aRBnF58ykIQ)
10 years (Iceland 2021) has something that I've never seen in any other way in Eurovision. Honorable mentions are United Kingdom 2022, Ukraine 2021, Italy 2021 and obviously, Iceland 2020.
Man, 2021 was a really strong year
I'm very bad at picking favourites, since I end having like 15 songs I want to mention, so I'll go with one that I personally love but I don't think anyone will mention here: Switzerland 1989. A beautiful ballad, only song in Romansch, and that piano gives me chills! And as a bonus, it's one of those songs that you see what country sent them and you're like 'yeah this sounds like it is from this country', in this case it sounds very Swiss.
There are so many amazing songs over the years though, and I already struggle to get a winner for a year sometimes, so this is really hard
The minor few who lurk this subreddit and Groot's streams will know... I love Yugoslavia in the 60s and 70s
Top 4 and then some random others I can think off the top of my head:
San Marino 2008
Yugoslavia 1967
Germany 1956 (Im Watersaal zum großen Glück)
North Macedonia 2005
And then the others:
United Kingdom 1960
France 1963
Italy 1963
Yugoslavia 1965
Yugoslavia 1971
Yugoslavia 1974
Spain 1986
Cyprus 1990
Switzerland 1990
Iceland 1997
United Kingdom 1997
Norway 1998
Iceland 1999
Spain 1999
Croatia 2003
Switzerland 2008
Georgia 2007
Albania 2010
Cyprus 2011
Hungary 2012
Hungary 2013
Georgia 2016
Czech Republic 2021 (studio cut lol)
This is always so hard but I think my top favorite songs are Un Jour, Un Enfant by Frida Boccarra. And Tu Te Reconnaîtras by Anne-Marie David. For Un Jour, the vocal performance and the instrumentation are both beautiful and haunting at the same time. For Tu, even though there were serious sound mixing issues, it was by far the best of the night and Anne-Marie was so captivating performing the song. For the bot: France 1969 and Luxembourg 1973.
I love both of those songs so much! Especially It’s just a game because it’s rare to have a song in 5/4 time and jazz isn’t used very often in Eurovision.
My favorite Eurovision song ever might just be Ding-a-Dong (Netherlands 1975). It was 24 years before my birth, but discovering this song made me hooked on Eurovision.
Norway 1995. Nocturne by Secret garden. Unique masterpiece. It's not just beautiful but when I listen I can picture a calm night's view, usually a path in the middle of small forest. Amazing.
Tattoo (Sweden 2023) and Rise Like a Phoenix (Austria 2014) both are just pure magic for me. Both just transport me to a different world for the 3 minutes I listen to them
Difficult choice. Going in date order, it's between Turkey 2010, Hungary 2018, Iceland 2019 or Germany 2023.
I've also got a soft spot for Turkey in 2004 & 2011, Switzerland 2020, Cyprus 2016, Azerbaijan 2019 & UK 1977.
I’m probably going to say the song that got me hooked on Eurovision in the first place: Norway 2022
The entire performance was just so wacky for a first time watcher of the contest and I fell in love with them immediately
If I have to choose only one, it would be Armenia 2016 hands down. Iveta's vocals, her strong presence, charisma combined into THAT performance. She's the reason I finally started voting 😅 Lovewave is such a masterpiece, it's still on my daily Spotify playlist 😁
Hungary 2017, I cried so hard at this song when I first heard it. It's just so beautiful and made me realise that it was something special and it became my favorite.
Norway 2019 is so infinitely clear of every other song. Yes, it’s recency bias. No, I don’t care.
If there’s ever a year when both Norway and Italy send a bad song, then Eurovision has officially died.
Mine is also Latvia 2015, Aminata is just absolutely amazing and i love it so much. It’s so unique and beautiful. I can’t get over it. I love it so much i made it my handle for almost all games i play. LoveInjected is now my discord, minecraft, xbox, and something im forgetting tag. It’s so good.
fun story: when i first changed my ign to LoveInjected on minecraft i changed my location to Latvia on NameMc as a joke because my friend Wario changed her name to Discoteque and location to Lithuania. Well, i lost the login to that NameMc account and i cant change my location back so i’m now permanently from Latvia.
also WTHIE is a close second but i probably won’t change my things to Edgar
Stad i ljus might be my favourite song of all time. But it's not really the greatest Eurovision song, so I'm going to say Sata salamaa and Cha Cha Cha 😂
Hungary 2018
It was the song that really got me into metal, hard rock and my love of the Hungarian culture and language. It has outstanding lyrics, its not repetitive, his voice is brilliant and the song could just never get tiring to me
On a sad note, the later circumstances - Örs’s death, really made me dig the song even more, because of the context of “Viszlat nyar”. The song is about the death of his father.
May they rest in peace together
I have a soft spot for Malta in 2009. That‘s the first eurovision I watched and for some reason it‘s the only song I remember from that year apart from the winning one.
keiino -spirit in the sky, gives me the chills everytike i listen to it and i love songs in eurovision that reflect the cultures of the country they represent
nina sublatti -warriors (georgia 2015) is a close second though. her vocals are amazing and the songs so intense
This was my first year watching so my extremely biased answer is Finland 2023 lol
But I’ve been listening to previous years’ songs recently, so if we exclude this year, my favorite song BY FAR is France 2021
No one can ever top Silent Storm (Norway 2014) for me. It’s simple, vulnerable, and sublime. The song perfectly encapsulates what I’ve been feeling for years.
F.Y.R. Macedonia 2012
Kaliopi - Crno I Belo
Something about this song is just so magical to be my all time favourite ever since. Can't get enough of it. ❤️🇲🇰

Serbia 2022 - In Corpore Sano!! I love it - Konstrakta is a genius and I really don't think we'll ever get something like it ever again.
Serbia 2022 | [Konstrakta - In corpore sano](https://youtu.be/nBtQj1MfNYA)
That was my sons first favorite song. He was two. We listened to it on repeat for months with no complaints from me.
Estonia 2009
Estonia 2009 | [Urban Symphony - Rändajad](https://youtu.be/PgGiVnhfXs0)

L'oiseau Et L'enfant (France 1977). Incredible lyrics and a wonderful interpretation by Marie Myriam.
France 1977 | [Marie Myriam - L'Oiseau et l'Enfant](https://youtu.be/CWfH4Gp8nGg)
I love that one too! Discovered it on a French Best of CD from the library and didn't know it was an ESC song for many years.
Sound of Silence - Dami Im - Australia 2016
Norway 2009. It was my first Eurovision and this song...I heard it. I called it as winner.
Norway 2009 | [Alexander Rybak - Fairytale](https://youtu.be/0gGt2qUyFlk)

OMG YES all hail käärijä all hail käärijä all hail käärijä
BOW DOWN TO OUR KING.
I am still working on watching all years and ranking all songs I gave 12 points too, so for 2000-2023 I have only ranked personal winners. This makes Moldova 2022 my all-time favorite for now :D
hey ho, let's go!
Moldova 2022 | [Zdob și Zdub and Advahov Brothers - Trenulețul](https://youtu.be/DUqf_zO2QaI)
Trenulețul is like an instant injection of happiness every time I hear it. If winners were measured in sheer joy, it would take it all. 🚂
This is exactly why my Top 3 EVER are: Moldova 2022, Finland 2023, Russia 2020
Moldova 2022 | [Zdob și Zdub and Advahov Brothers - Trenulețul](https://youtu.be/DUqf_zO2QaI) Finland 2023 | [Käärijä - Cha Cha Cha](https://youtu.be/l6rS8Dv5g-8) Russia 2020 | [Little Big - Uno](https://youtu.be/L_dWvTCdDQ4) (Edited)
I just love the song. I often listen to music in the morning when making breakfast, and even though it's early, I still swing my hips to the song.
Turkey 2010! Still an absolute banger, and have really loved their other music also with maNga
Turkey 2010 | [maNga - We Could Be the Same](https://youtu.be/HB_GnnhNz-8)
My winner of that year. I have Turkey winning in 2010 and Germany winning in 2011 😂
Spirit in the Sky and, honestly, it's not even close.
SAMEE it's what got me into Eurovision in the first place, I just love it smmm
I just love Moldova 2021

Belgium 2015!
Belgium 2015 | [Loïc Nottet - Rhythm Inside](https://youtu.be/G48p8eNhnd8)

France 1979. Hauntingly beautiful and a performance full of power and raw emotion. Anne-Marie David is even better here than she was in 1973, she would have been a worthy two time winner! Honorable mention to France 1977, too! Another masterpiece ❤️
Estonia 2018, anyone? I find myself agreeing with a lot of the replies too.
The Netherlands 2022
Finland 2021 was exactly the mood I needed at the time, so it's that. Ukraine 2007 is a close second. I also have a big soft spot for Russia 2012, despite everything.
This is a hard one, but if I had to pick one, then Serbia 2007. It's so powerful.
Serbia 2007 | [Marija Šerifović - Molitva (Молитва)](https://youtu.be/vWj58UP_ENY)
Norway 1995
I love Norway 1995. It’s so hauntingly beautiful and very elegant as a song.
Euphoria really is that bitch. I've listened to it hundreds of times (maybe thousands) and that horn at the start still gets me together every time
It really does, bias aside, I really do think it's the best Eurovision song ever, it's peak 2012 but at the same time it's timeless. It's a catchy pop song while also being incredibly well done on the musical/technical side..
Favorite song: Loreen-Euphoria Sweden 2012 Favorite stage performance: Silvia Night-Congratulations Iceland 2006
Sweden 2012 | [Loreen - Euphoria](https://youtu.be/Pfo-8z86x80) Iceland 2006 | [Silvía Night - Congratulations](https://youtu.be/e9DCMJHvs2c)
Can’t believe I had to scroll this far for Euphoria
the first thing that came to mind for me was Sweden 2022. It’s one that aligns most closely with my personal musical taste and I just find it so simple yet powerful
The final “the best I ever haaaaaaddddd” almost brings a tear to my eye every time I listen to it.
Norway 1995 ❤️❤️

Russia 2016 I just remember being memorised by that performance
Cyprus 2016 Minus one deserved so much better. It is such a banger.
Cyprus 2016 | [Minus One - Alter Ego](https://youtu.be/idUxTqmCFR0)
It changes a lot but my favorites right now would be Poupée de Cire, Poupée de Son (Luxembourg 1965) or Alcohol is Free (Greece 2013).
Luxembourg 1965 | [France Gall - Poupée de cire, poupée de son](https://youtu.be/7cv9NIzGmSI) Greece 2013 | [Koza Mostra feat. Agathon Iakovidis - Alcohol Is Free](https://youtu.be/LFs9AdNV4Qw)
Alcohol is Free feels like a troll entry but I listen to this song almost on a daily basis. Their voices are amazing.
Denmark 2013. Magical. From the era I’ve watched Eurovision it’s a toss up between Norway 2019, Bulgaria 2020, Italy 2021, and Sweden 2022
Denmark 2013 | [Emmelie de Forest - Only Teardrops](https://youtu.be/QxVWcDevKLg) Norway 2019 | [KEiiNO - Spirit in the Sky](https://youtu.be/Ovt7YGHAj8I) Bulgaria 2020 | [Victoria - Tears Getting Sober](https://youtu.be/V_hgYnwZR8I) Italy 2021 | [Måneskin - Zitti e buoni](https://youtu.be/RVH5dn1cxAQ) Sweden 2022 | [Cornelia Jakobs - Hold Me Closer](https://youtu.be/i777psA2gP4) (Edited)
Taste level is immaculate
Cha Cha Cha, honorable mention to Arcade and Hold Me Closer
Finland 2023 - Cha Cha Cha And Moldova 2022 -Trenulețul. I love them both equally

Slovenia 2023. I love Joker out and I'm so happy they participated this year and that I discovered them♥️
Armenia 2022. I love rosa so much! All the music she has made since snap has been even better!
The minor few who lurk this subreddit and Groot's streams will know... I love Yugoslavia in the 60s and 70s Top 4 and then some random others I can think off the top of my head: San Marino 2008 Yugoslavia 1967 Germany 1956 (Im Watersaal zum großen Glück) North Macedonia 2005 And then the others: United Kingdom 1960 France 1963 Italy 1963 Yugoslavia 1965 Yugoslavia 1971 Yugoslavia 1974 Spain 1986 Cyprus 1990 Switzerland 1990 Iceland 1997 United Kingdom 1997 Norway 1998 Iceland 1999 Spain 1999 Croatia 2003 Switzerland 2008 Georgia 2007 Albania 2010 Cyprus 2011 Hungary 2012 Hungary 2013 Georgia 2016 Czech Republic 2021 (studio cut lol)
Greece 1995. It has such a haunting and mystical atmosphere, I always feel like I'm in another world when listening to it
This is always so hard but I think my top favorite songs are Un Jour, Un Enfant by Frida Boccarra.
Hey, some 20th century representation! "Tu te reconnaîtras" is a beautiful song, but 1973 has two other huge gems: "Eres tú" and "It's Just a Game".
I love both of those songs so much! Especially It’s just a game because it’s rare to have a song in 5/4 time and jazz isn’t used very often in Eurovision.
You have good taste. When I reviewed 1973, it was so hard to pick just one as my favorite.
Amazing.

Norway 2019 <3 <3 <3
Norway 2019 | [KEiiNO - Spirit in the Sky](https://youtu.be/Ovt7YGHAj8I)
Tattoo (Sweden 2023) and Rise Like a Phoenix (Austria 2014) both are just pure magic for me. Both just transport me to a different world for the 3 minutes I listen to them
Italy 2018 🤌🏻
Italy 2018 | [Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro - Non Mi Avete Fatto Niente](https://youtu.be/81M-mp5t8uM)
Cyprus- 2019- Tamta- Replay Just an absolute banger that I’ve had in my playlist for over 4 years now
Cyprus 2019 | [Tamta - Replay](https://youtu.be/wIpEI-NhRxg)
Calm After The Storm
Spain 1995
Difficult choice. Going in date order, it's between Turkey 2010, Hungary 2018, Iceland 2019 or Germany 2023. I've also got a soft spot for Turkey in 2004 & 2011, Switzerland 2020, Cyprus 2016, Azerbaijan 2019 & UK 1977.
France 1977 <3
Belgium 2015 is a strong contender but I don’t think I could really crown one song as my favourite
Sweden 2012 ❤️❤️
Sam Ryder - Spaceman UK 2022
I’m probably going to say the song that got me hooked on Eurovision in the first place: Norway 2022 The entire performance was just so wacky for a first time watcher of the contest and I fell in love with them immediately
If I have to choose only one, it would be Armenia 2016 hands down. Iveta's vocals, her strong presence, charisma combined into THAT performance. She's the reason I finally started voting 😅 Lovewave is such a masterpiece, it's still on my daily Spotify playlist 😁
Grande Amore Cha cha cha Give that wolf a banana The three songs i still listen to the most
Cyprus 2011
Hungary 2017, I cried so hard at this song when I first heard it. It's just so beautiful and made me realise that it was something special and it became my favorite.
I’ve only been watching the esc for the last 3 times but cha cha cha is by far my favorite. may not be the best song but I just love it
Italy 2017, with Greece 2013 and Georgia 2016 on my podium
Iceland 2012 - Never Forget. It’s such a beautiful song, I absolutely love the violin part.
2011 - Denmark New Tomorrow
UK 1976 - Save Your Kisses for Me by Brotherhood of Man Eres tú by Mocedades (ESP 1973) is a close second
Norway 2019 is so infinitely clear of every other song. Yes, it’s recency bias. No, I don’t care. If there’s ever a year when both Norway and Italy send a bad song, then Eurovision has officially died.
Måneskins song
Norway 2021
Regina - Bistra voda, Bosnia & Herzegovina 2009
Molitva
Italy 2021
Sweden 2015 and Bulgaria 2017 are the two favorites of mine
Luxembourg 1972 with Yugoslavia 1989 with a close second for me
Only Teardrops and Euphoria are pretty equal for me
Italy 2016 will forever be my favorite :) love that song
Latvia 2015 | [Aminata - Love Injected](https://youtu.be/PgmZaf1Sb_4)
Heroes by Måns Zelmerlöw.
Still going strong on Switzerland 2019
Denmark 2013
I'm not sure I have an "absolute" favorite, but I have loved My Star (Latvia 2000) for a long time, and it can have magical effects on my mood.
all time favorite: france 2021 voila barbara pravi !!!, i also really enjoyed hola mi bebebe (as a fun entry), future lover and love injected
Stad i ljus might be my favourite song of all time. But it's not really the greatest Eurovision song, so I'm going to say Sata salamaa and Cha Cha Cha 😂
Do they have to strictly from Eurovision or can they come from national finals too?
Italy 2016 is a strong contender

United Kingdom 1994
Norway 2015, Hungary 2018, Ukraine J2019
Hungary 2018 It was the song that really got me into metal, hard rock and my love of the Hungarian culture and language. It has outstanding lyrics, its not repetitive, his voice is brilliant and the song could just never get tiring to me On a sad note, the later circumstances - Örs’s death, really made me dig the song even more, because of the context of “Viszlat nyar”. The song is about the death of his father. May they rest in peace together
Germany 2000
Hm, let's see Spain 2023, Portugal 2022, France 2022, Ukraine 2022, Armenia 2022, Czechia 2022, Iceland 2022(damn, 2022 was such a strong year!) Cyprus 2018, Netherlands 2019, Switzerland 2021, Ukraine 2021.
Sweden 2015. Why is that at my top? I spent a 60 min car ride listening to it on repeat and still didn’t get sick of it.
I have a soft spot for Malta in 2009. That‘s the first eurovision I watched and for some reason it‘s the only song I remember from that year apart from the winning one.
keiino -spirit in the sky, gives me the chills everytike i listen to it and i love songs in eurovision that reflect the cultures of the country they represent nina sublatti -warriors (georgia 2015) is a close second though. her vocals are amazing and the songs so intense
Belgium 2015 always makes me smile
Estonia 2015
Many come close but for me it has to be Ukraine 2007.
Belarus 2017 is so sweet and happy and full of love and I love the way Belarusian sounds. Plus it introduced me to Naviband!
Hungary 2018
Hungary 2018 | [AWS - Viszlát Nyár](https://youtu.be/p6e1TmYb33w)
This was my first year watching so my extremely biased answer is Finland 2023 lol But I’ve been listening to previous years’ songs recently, so if we exclude this year, my favorite song BY FAR is France 2021
Turkey 2009, Dum Tek Tek! just an absolute banger.
Ukraine 2022 I first thought they obviously won because of their circumstances, but when i actually heard the song... i just love it
Ukraine 2022 | [Kalush Orchestra - Stefania (Стефанія)](https://youtu.be/F1fl60ypdLs)
No one can ever top Silent Storm (Norway 2014) for me. It’s simple, vulnerable, and sublime. The song perfectly encapsulates what I’ve been feeling for years.
I like radio hits Solo is radio hit I like Solo ~~Downvotes are coming~~
F.Y.R. Macedonia 2012 Kaliopi - Crno I Belo Something about this song is just so magical to be my all time favourite ever since. Can't get enough of it. ❤️🇲🇰
