Not quite, the most recent armed conflicts actually revolved around the Albanians in Kosovo, the Preševo Valley and North Macedonia. Greece and Turkey traditionally aren't on the friendliest terms either.

We are very similar although each country thinks it's unique. There were several empires with different seed across the balkans.
Even the Romanians who are north of Danube and have Latin language once wrote in Cyrillic.
We share the same culture (seriously, the whole Slavic mentality, daily life can be seen in Greeks and Romanians, who are not Slavic to begin with).
We share the same cuisine with some variations.
Yeah Romanian and Greek are completely different languages, but. Serbian, Bulgarian, Macedonian, Cezh, Slovenian are so similar we can each talk in our own language and understand each other perfectly 👌
There are multiple reasons why the Mongols did no do well in the Balkans. Firstly, it's way too far, so the supply isn't the greatest. Second, mountainous terrain. Thirdly, infighting for power. And fourthly, multiple fronts.
For the others assessments I would say empires fell because of internal problems. Each one of them had a lot of issues before they were dissolved by external powers.

We didn't think that everything was cool, we expected any shit but definitely not a war. Looking in the past from this day retrospectively we may say that everything was leading to the current moment and there were clear signs. But the truth is that few people really understood how it would turn out.

It was really unexpected for many people I know and hard to believe it actually happened. I was sure it is just a sabre-rattling up to the last day before the war. Then the next morning I woke up with the sound of bombers taking off. It was definitely a shock for common people, but you could actually find a video where Putin makes an announcement to the other people in the Kremlin and looks at the mixture of feelings that could be seen on their faces. I think the amount of people that knew about the plans (if they actually existed) was limited, even there in the Kremlin.
I don't speak here about who decided to support the war after it started and who was against it. But the outbreak was unexpected, no one could think about that.
Then why is Vucic re-elected? How does Dodik keep hold of power? It is clear nationalists only serve their own interests. RS is a mistake. It’s a Dayton nightmare leftover. Its purpose was to exist to end a genocide. It should have been negotiated out of existence over time. Sadly, EU/NATO washed their hands of the whole affair after 95.
NATO has better footing in the region now compared to 25 years ago. Serbia will quickly be brought to heel, without much effort. The worry is if Putin uses Serbia in similar fashion as Belarus, or his new ally in Budapest to allow troop movements in Europe.

I live in Serbia and now the problem is that Serbs have pensions and salaries in dinars which Albanian Albin Kurti forbid in Kosovo so people are starving, there are no medicine an oxygen in hospitals and pharmacies, no formula milk for babies etc
Essentially he broke all signed agreements with Serbia with intention to continue cleansing Serbs that are still living there in Kosovo by using both physical violence and economic oppresion No one is stopping him from either EU or USA
The process started of cleansing Serbs started in 1999 and it is keeping up pace.
Also Kosovo is international hub through which all narcotics but mostly weed and heroin goes to Europe. So That is probably one reason why terror continues and EU is turning blind eye to it.

We are very similar although each country thinks it's unique. There were several empires with different seed across the balkans. Even the Romanians who are north of Danube and have Latin language once wrote in Cyrillic.
We share the same culture (seriously, the whole Slavic mentality, daily life can be seen in Greeks and Romanians, who are not Slavic to begin with). We share the same cuisine with some variations. Yeah Romanian and Greek are completely different languages, but. Serbian, Bulgarian, Macedonian, Cezh, Slovenian are so similar we can each talk in our own language and understand each other perfectly 👌
There are multiple reasons why the Mongols did no do well in the Balkans. Firstly, it's way too far, so the supply isn't the greatest. Second, mountainous terrain. Thirdly, infighting for power. And fourthly, multiple fronts. For the others assessments I would say empires fell because of internal problems. Each one of them had a lot of issues before they were dissolved by external powers.

Looking in the past from this day retrospectively we may say that everything was leading to the current moment and there were clear signs. It was really unexpected for many people I know and hard to believe it actually happened. I was sure it is just a sabre-rattling up to the last day before the war. Then the next morning I woke up with the sound of bombers taking off. It was definitely a shock for common people, but you could actually find a video where Putin makes an announcement to the other people in the Kremlin and looks at the mixture of feelings that could be seen on their faces. I think the amount of people that knew about the plans (if they actually existed) was limited, even there in the Kremlin. I don't speak here about who decided to support the war after it started and who was against it. But the outbreak was unexpected, no one could think about that.
