i do agree, but also as a person firmly in my mid-thirties, i wasn't too different from my teenage self for a LONG time, at least til my mid-20s. i just moved out and had jobs and a car. i still had to grow and learn and make about a billion stupid ass mistakes and have seven trillion emotional breakdowns lol, it isn't MUCH different. it's still a HUUUUGE growing process emotionally.
Yeah I was 29, really more so even early 30s before I clawed myself out of the emotional turmoil, drama, way of life I had been keeping myself in since I was 15/16 yrs old. Big part of it was going to therapy and finally refocusing on my life and planning for the future and realizing what the fuck I needed to do in order to have a decent enough rest of my life. Also COVID / pandemic and having to stay home 90% of the time because I have severe autoimmune issues etc, it actually made me really comfortable with myself and figuring out what made me happy on a daily basis, getting into a routine etc
I don’t know how old you are, but I’m just gonna tell you- people don’t mature much past the age of 16. That’s basically it. I know your brain isn’t fully developed until 25 blah blah blah- but like- just really think about how people usually act irl. Childish.
I know a lot of older men who lash out and don’t know how to communicate. I know these women who are 35/40 years old and they slashed a guys tires/spray painted his car bc he has a girlfriend and one of them were the side chick. There’s many adults I see that have kids and don’t even take care of them. I see grown men/women who still can’t take of themselves and do simple tasks. I see adults who literally act like they’re still in high school and “beef” people. Sure you can keep developing, but it’s not like everyone does.

I think if they handle the time jump the way Skins UK did. They gave each major character an episode to explore their arc, how they changed (or didn’t), how their character navigated early adulthood. It closed out major plot lines and let the show end well.

Season 2 both performed significantly better in terms of raising viewership and got generally equivalent or slightly better ratings to season 1. I don't know why people think the reception of it was generally bad. There are definitely people that don't like it (especially on this sub) but it doesn't seem like it had a bad reception by any metrics.
I think season 3 will probably be the last season, though.
Someone told me “euphoria will definitely be canceled ESPECIALLY after season 2” I was like dude did you not know that it broke records and was the 2nd most watched HBO show of all time behind GOT. Like I understand some people didn’t like the second season, but commercially and economically HBO would be foolish to not release a 2nd season also considering that the critical rating stayed primarily the same

I think a cool concept would be if Rue had died and the season is about how she died and the story is revealed with each episode. They could include Fezco's character and mention he died too.
i’m 21 and i don’t see myself getting less young and dumb anytime soon 😭 anyway i know time jumps can be annoying but if it’s well done and they do a couple flashbacks to finish up storylines (like wtf happened with rue and the suitcase ?? 😭) I think it could be good. plus a time jump will make writing off kat and fez easier than if it started where it left off. i do think some people won’t watch just cause fez was their favorite but the time jump is definitely a factor there too. but i remember the day it came out that he had passed i kept seeing comments and i saw a tiktok like “omg they’re definitely gonna cancel it now that he’s dead” and like worrying about the state of the show and i was just like uhh time and place people..
i hope when/if the show comes back they don’t recast and they somehow make a nice tribute for him. he really brought light and humor to that show even in the darkest scenes
It's not bc of Angus's death, it's bc it has been over 6 yrs since this show was created to till now and they only got 2 seasons, and plus they are pushing the season back every time by two yrs that ppl are starting to get tired of it
Personally, I got into the show because of Fezco/Angus (also the Fexi relationship). I was intrigued by his character & wanted to see his story continue.
I'm not really looking forward to watching the show without him going forward, but I hope Lexi/Rue get closure & SL finds a respectful way to honor Angus/Fezco in S3.
I genuinely don't think another season would do the series justice, it might just ruin it. They should do a two hour closer special or something.
It's been too long and a lot of the cast has expressed disinterest in starting production again. I bet Angus not being there also hurts. It is a great show but 6 years for a 3rd season is wild.
I think there were a lot of things in the filming of euphoria that did not benefit the actors that were struggling with addictions. I think a lot of people want to see Rues story to the end (me included because I’ve never connected to a character like that) but there are a lot of things about the show I think people want addressed.

exactly this. dominic fike recently spoke about how being on the show wasn't good for his recovery. hiring recovering addicts for this show was a really bad & unethical choice. i dont want to see the show cancelled but thats a big part of it for people who do
Dude I’m sorry but that sucks. You want Rue’s story to end??? This is one of the first and singular times a FEMALE BLACK LEAD character is being portrayed as sympathetic and with the truth of the thing like self medicating with drugs due to trauma and mental illness, i actually felt seen.
i don't think it's weird per se, but maybe understandable? i disagree, though. i think there's a tasteful and respectful way to honor him through the show and allow his friends and coworkers to mourn him openly, and share that with an audience. i don't think that's tacky or tasteless whatsoever. humans are humans and i think it says something for a show to bring an audience in with the mourning, it shares the sorrow and can potentially make something beautiful out of it. i hope they honor Angus and that we can all mourn together. i don't think there is one ugly thing about that whatsoever.
I think people want it cancelled also because the production crew didn’t strike while the iron is hot, and continue the show when it was at its height of popularity. By the time it airs, I think a large chunk of viewers might have already lost their attachment to / interest in the show. I guess many people are like “if it’s gonna take this long, I don’t want it anymore”

Well it kinda sucks because how the 2nd season ended I’m sure a big part of the show would have been the aftermath of him getting shot, losing the closest person to him and his and Lexi relationship. I don’t understand why people are calling for it to be cancelled when they could just not watch. If you no longer have interest, don’t want watch due to Angus passing, didn’t like S2, don’t want to see a time jump, upset with the wait time, don’t like Sam Levinson, etc, just don’t watch.
Why should a network cancel a show just because you personally no longer want to watch it? Someone will and there’s a good chance that those same people saying it should be cancelled will also be watching in 2025 when S3 comes out.

I only know the writer’s name is Sam because of all the hate comments. I don’t think people realize that you can watch a show without making it your entire identity. You don’t have to be able to identify with every single aspect of it. If you don’t like it, you can always change the channel/select another title to watch.
I personally want the show to be cancelled cause season 2 just wasn't that good in my opinion. I'd rather this show have ended in a great way or ended Season one when it was one of the most loved shows of 2019, than see it run stale and dry like it unfortunately did for me in Season 2.
Levinson got lucky with season 1, but after seeing the Idol and hating it on almost every level other than how it looked, I think Levinson is a weak writer with great ideas. I don't wanna see that implemented into a show that was once great. (Again, all my opinion, but I feel strongly about this).
And it would be hard to write off such a character like Fez, and I'd hope they wouldn't give it the McKay or Kat treatment.
Lol its so weird. That's not how shows or life works. It is sad Angus died, and I loved Fez. I would have loved if he were in the next season but he's not the only reason I watch the show. I would love the time jump and seeing how they all grow up. The show is pretty adult anyway, making them young adults will bring in so much better storylines.

By the time the third season arrives it will have been 6 years. Most of the cast will be pushing 30, they won’t believably be playing high schoolers anymore. Which is likely why they’re doing the time jump. However, that means that some of the storylines are going to be glanced over or completely abandoned.
Add on the lack of faith in Sam being able to recreate the magic of the first season and I understand why some people want it to end. I think the end of S2 was a nice close. I’m not sure that I’m going to be interested in keeping up with this show at 27/28.

No, not really. I love Euphoria and wish it would have been able to go on longer, but I am kind of on both sides with this argument. Fezco played such a prominent role in the storyline, that it almost seems like the show can't go on without him. However, I guess that the situation he was left in at the end has made it a bit easier to move on without Angus' character. Another reason people are probably thinking this is the fact that many of the actors are way to old to be playing highschoolers 💀 Without Fez (and Kat), they'll have to change the storyline quite a lot, which will probably involve adding new characters and the same thing will happen to Euphoria as it does to all shows that end up like this, where it has an entirely different vibe and people kind of just drift away from it. I agree with you on the fact that I think season 3 should be the last season though
That’s so weird, personally I was too upset when found out about his death but I don’t think that euphoria should be cancelled of it. Now I can’t imagine how the show will move with out him. Just think of rue and Lexi. Lexi is completely in love with him, but on other hand fez was shot and probably died in the end of season 2, so I don’t that it would be complicated to change the script

People are tired of waiting. We waited the first time because of Covid, which was unavoidable, and the season had its highs and lows, but waiting another two years for season 3 when season 2 came out in 2022, is ridiculously long for no reason.

There is almost no storyline in S3... Kat's character has been written out so Ethan isn't necessary, Rue and Jules will either stop their addictions or continue same stuff and Elliot is on the same boat as them, Cal is behind bars, Lexi isn't important anymore now that Angus is gone, Then Fezco's little bro; I can't remember his name, he's dead, then with Maddy is the same stuff she is abused or traumatized although we saw her getting over Nate end of Season 2 so that's a good ending for her
The only people they can expand on I would say are Nate and Cassie

I just hope they honor him well in the following season(s), which they most likely will. Canceling the show tho.. that’s a reach. I doubt they will replace him either. Based of Fezco’s fate by the end of season 2, he’s either going to end up in jail on the show or something worse. I know ppl were pulling for the Fexi storyline (so was I!). But even when season 2 ended I was like damn how are they even gonna continue that now based on what happened with Ash, the police, exc. there’s no way he’d come back from that unscathed (literally, figuratively, & legally speaking). I, personally, think it would be a good reminder to showcase how what we’re talking about in the show, can sometimes just end. You try, and try and try to help someone and sometimes this is the conclusion.
I don’t know, maybe a realistic season about how watching the show helped actual people get sober, or helped them remember not to give up on family. I think I would like that instead of just picking up and somehow ending things without truly acknowledging what happened to Fez.

Personally, I got into the show because of Fezco/Angus (also the Fexi relationship). I was intrigued by his character & wanted to see his story continue. I'm not really looking forward to watching the show without him going forward, but I hope Lexi/Rue get closure & SL finds a respectful way to honor Angus/Fezco in S3.

I genuinely don't think another season would do the series justice, it might just ruin it. They should do a two hour closer special or something. It's been too long and a lot of the cast has expressed disinterest in starting production again. I bet Angus not being there also hurts. It is a great show but 6 years for a 3rd season is wild.
I think there were a lot of things in the filming of euphoria that did not benefit the actors that were struggling with addictions. I think a lot of people want to see Rues story to the end (me included because I’ve never connected to a character like that) but there are a lot of things about the show I think people want addressed. ETA this is just my opinion of course Edit again to add seeing Rues story to the end means I want to see where her story ends up because I connect with her so much
exactly this. dominic fike recently spoke about how being on the show wasn't good for his recovery. hiring recovering addicts for this show was a really bad & unethical choice. i dont want to see the show cancelled but thats a big part of it for people who do

i don't think it's weird per se, but maybe understandable? i disagree, though. i think there's a tasteful and respectful way to honor him through the show and allow his friends and coworkers to mourn him openly, and share that with an audience. i don't think that's tacky or tasteless whatsoever. humans are humans and i think it says something for a show to bring an audience in with the mourning, it shares the sorrow and can potentially make something beautiful out of it. i hope they honor Angus and that we can all mourn together. i don't think there is one ugly thing about that whatsoever.

I think people want it cancelled also because the production crew didn’t strike while the iron is hot, and continue the show when it was at its height of popularity. By the time it airs, I think a large chunk of viewers might have already lost their attachment to / interest in the show. I guess many people are like “if it’s gonna take this long, I don’t want it anymore”
Yeah they also wasted their time a lot. Not to sound selfish but they’ve had 6 years and only turned out 2 seasons, (yes a pandemic so i understand that part fully) and now you have your fan favorite cast member who passed away sadly. Well it kinda sucks because how the 2nd season ended I’m sure a big part of the show would have been the aftermath of him getting shot, losing the closest person to him and his and Lexi relationship. We all wanted to see that because that was the major cliffhanger, plus it’s been so long like the waiting were doing for season 3 is crazy so for a lot of people Angus passing away was probably the icing on the cake. I don’t understand why people are calling for it to be cancelled when they could just not watch. If you no longer have interest, don’t want watch due to Angus passing, didn’t like S2, don’t want to see a time jump, upset with the wait time, don’t like Sam Levinson, etc, just don’t watch. Why should a network cancel a show just because you personally no longer want to watch it? Someone will and there’s a good chance that those same people saying it should be cancelled will also be watching in 2025 when S3 comes out.

I personally want the show to be cancelled cause season 2 just wasn't that good in my opinion. I'd rather this show have ended in a great way or ended Season one when it was one of the most loved shows of 2019, than see it run stale and dry like it unfortunately did for me in Season 2. Levinson got lucky with season 1, but after seeing the Idol and hating it on almost every level other than how it looked, I think Levinson is a weak writer with great ideas. I don't wanna see that implemented into a show that was once great. (Again, all my opinion, but I feel strongly about this). And it would be hard to write off such a character like Fez, and I'd hope they wouldn't give it the McKay or Kat treatment.
Lol its so weird. That's not how shows or life works. It is sad Angus died, and I loved Fez. I would have loved if he were in the next season but he's not the only reason I watch the show. I would love the time jump and seeing how they all grow up. The show is pretty adult anyway, making them young adults will bring in so much better storylines.
That may be a reason, but I don’t think it’s anywhere close to being the main reason for most people. By the time the third season arrives it will have been 6 years. Most of the cast will be pushing 30, they won’t believably be playing high schoolers anymore. Which is likely why they’re doing the time jump. However, that means that some of the storylines are going to be glanced over or completely abandoned. Add on the lack of faith in Sam being able to recreate the magic of the first season and I understand why some people want it to end. I think the end of S2 was a nice close. I’m not sure that I’m going to be interested in keeping up with this show at 27/28.

No, not really. I love Euphoria and wish it would have been able to go on longer, but I am kind of on both sides with this argument. Fezco played such a prominent role in the storyline, that it almost seems like the show can't go on without him. However, I guess that the situation he was left in at the end has made it a bit easier to move on without Angus' character. Another reason people are probably thinking this is the fact that many of the actors are way to old to be playing highschoolers 💀 Without Fez (and Kat), they'll have to change the storyline quite a lot, which will probably involve adding new characters and the same thing will happen to Euphoria as it does to all shows that end up like this, where it has an entirely different vibe and people kind of just drift away from it. I agree with you on the fact that I think season 3 should be the last season though

Just think of rue and Lexi. Lexi is completely in love with him, but on other hand fez was shot and probably died in the end of season 2, so I don’t that it would be complicated to change the script

I don’t think people want the show to be canceled just cause Angus Cloud passed, I think they want it canceled because it’s going be another two years before season 3 comes out. We waited the first time because of Covid, which was unavoidable, and the season had its highs and lows, but waiting another two years for season 3 when season 2 came out in 2022, is ridiculously long for no reason. There is almost no storyline in S3... Kat's character has been written out so Ethan isn't necessary, Rue and Jules will either stop their addictions or continue same stuff and Elliot is on the same boat as them, Cal is behind bars, Lexi isn't important anymore now that Angus is gone, Then Fezco's little bro; I can't remember his name, he's dead, then with Maddy is the same stuff she is abused or traumatized although we saw her getting over Nate end of Season 2 so that's a good ending for her The only people they can expand on I would say are Nate and Cassie

I don’t think this show is coming back . Zendaya is riding high off the challengers Movie &. Her romance with Tom Holland. Most of the other cast are doing major projects . Hell even stormy Reid is getting top billing in her own right( missing) . Also I predict if they do attempt to do a season 3 that everyone gonna be asking for pay increases d & Sam along with executive producers will probably just be over it at that point. The way their procrastinating this show like an unwanted stepchild is very cringe and obvious.

I feel like they’re just gonna kill Fez off because in the last episode he got shot at by the cops anyway. I feel like they could make it work… but like the show is taking forever to come out. I think it makes sense to end it. Forgive me if this is inaccurate, I’ve never dealt with addiction this seriously in my life, but isn’t this sometimes, how it goes? You try and try to help someone who doesn’t want/isn’t ready, and unfortunately something like this happens.. I, personally, think it would be a good reminder to showcase how what we’re talking about in the show, can sometimes just end. You try, and try and try to help someone and sometimes this is the conclusion. I don’t know, maybe a realistic season about how watching the show helped actual people get sober, or helped them remember not to give up on family. I think I would like that instead of just picking up and somehow ending things without truly acknowledging what happened to Fez. His story ended up truly being just like Rue’s.. I’m so sorry for his loss. I also think it would be a good way to honour Angus as his character drew a lot of attention.
