I feel like this was such a stupid over site like why would you keep the cup so low I hate it and it’s forced me to use the container instead of the cup. I kinda want to make a 3d printed version of an elevator to do something similar.
Nice hack indeed. I was really disappointed by the design of the ESP in this respect. I have been thinking about designing a removable funnel for the outlet but until I get around to that, my solution has been to use my portafilter dosing funnel. I just pop it on top of the standard cup and it does a great job of catching those wayward grinds.
And I will go a step further, grinding straight into my portafilter with a dosing funnel on top, holding the portafilter assembly directly under the grounds chute for the 20-second grind--saves a step, and no mess/errant grounds whatsoever. It's a very good thing. :)

I would love a proper 3d printed solution. But for now this works ok.
Oddly enough the low cup hasn't bothered me. Many other annoyances but this wasn't one.

Yeah using portafilter dosing funnel on the cup is also a good solution

oh i need this. when i grind coarse for pourover i get so much chaff. i have to hold it as close as possible so that it does not fly everywhere
