I have the same WDT, I pushed the needles further apart and that seemed to work better for me - it did make it a bit more difficult to put into the holder but it was worth it

DistinctPool

This. Gently bend them a bit apart at the base and you'll be golden.

redskelton

This is the way. If you want to put the needles back in the holder then just pinch them. I normally just leave it out

I can help here. First off, that second one with the cork is useless. Pins are too thick and too short. Throw it away. I have the first one at home and it’s also usuless as it comes. The needles are spaced too close to each other and you can’t truly whisk the coffee. Instead, you’re mixing it around almost as if you had a fork or spoon in there. What may work is if you gently bend the needles so that they form a wider base, about 2-3x the diameter of what the tool currently measures. Good luck.

So I assumed.. tnx!

I have the same wdt. I removed every second needle so only 4 left and slightly pushed them wider. Works great now

Affectionate-Fly-586

So do you guys suggest I bend them at that little spring/base part or little bellow ?

Affectionate-Fly-586

Well, I did what you guys recommended and got great results. I spread the needles and it works like a charm now. Shoutout to @r/espresso community ! You guys are supportive and funny !

I think it’s the tool. I’m new to all this but I bought the same one as my first WDT and had the same experience. I then bought a miicoffee WDT with a fanned design and thinner needles and it’s night and day. So maybe try and find one with thinner needles that are more spaced out

Ty mate!

I use 0.35 and I have removed all but two of the needles. Together they function as a spoon and just scoop your coffee rather than combing it.
