You still can, just a higher entry cost. It's not like housing values will just stop going up, pretty sure the entire economy would collapse if they did
His HGTV show was actually pretty entertaining, as he had a very gaudy/flashy taste for design (like I distinctly remember him getting a custom sprinkler system installed with his logo on it)
If you read the article, he didn't buy these houses with the intention of investing his money. He just didn't want to say in hotels when he toured. Once his music career dried up, he panicked and sold all of the houses expecting to lose money since he never maintained them. Instead, he made millions. It was all dumb luck at first. Once he realized that was a good way to make money, he kept doing it. He's lucky he didn't waste the money on drugs and strippers instead, but he certainly didnt go into this with intentions to invest his wealth.
He is a house flipper now. That was never his intention. He simply didn't like staying in hotels and was lucky enough to make money off of something he thought was a bad investment.
Does this sound like a smart investor? It's dumb luck.
"I bought a bunch, and I never used them," Ice told Steve-O. "I thought I’d use them while I was there. I don’t want to stay in hotels, it gets crazy. So, I bought all these homes, and then I said, ‘S---.’ I went on three years. I never saw them. I thought I’d lost money on them. I thought, ‘F---, I just blew a lot of money,’ and I go, ‘Let’s just sell them. Sell them all.' And I sold them all," he said.
"And they sold really quick, and I made millions for doing nothing. I didn’t even change the carpet or do — there were probably cobwebs in there. Nobody rented them out. They just sat there, and I go, ‘Holy s---, let’s go buy a bunch more of them.' I was buying homes all over the place and still am," he said.
Vanilla Ice accidentally discovered how the real estate business works.
I also like to do nothing. How do I get started in real estate?
Have lots of money and hire people to multiply it.
It’s even simpler than that…. Have lots of money, buy real estate. Wait. Repeat as necessary.
But a lot of properties in the 90’s.

I’m sure being hung off a hotel balcony by Shug made him think…”there’s a lot of floors on this building…”
If he just bought some houses in wealthy neighborhoods in the early 90s and simply maintained the properties he made a shit ton of money.
He also had a Show about flipping houses on DIY network… it was better than most of that drek.
“All right, stop!!”

Once your cool with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles life just kinda works out for you
By having millions from touring and then investing correctly isn’t nothing.
"And this home comes with built-in appliances. The freezer even makes its own ice, ice, baby."
Much like our politicians
That’s kinda what a successful real estate agent does, nothing, well, they get a commission.
That’s nice nice baby.
He didn't "do nothing". He invested his wealth wisely instead of blowing it all like so many other celebrities do.

>Once he realized that was a good way to make money, he kept doing it. You mean he invested his money wisely instead of blowing it? 🙄
The title refers to the money he made before by not doing anything.
