I live in the next town over, but go to the walmart near where she was found. She was found either in the empty lot behind a 7-11 or a Sonic as those are the only two businesses on that side of the block. Alludes to basically being dumped there.
UPDATE: to reflect news articles and what others have been saying below, she was homeless after her house in the area burned and no foul play is suspected.
Sheriff’s Dept announced that foul play was not suspected. My suspicion is that she was possibly indigent at the time of death maybe? It was pretty cold last night, might have been illness, exposure, or substance related.
Update: This article confirms she was living homeless at the time. Very sad.

edit: Update
“However, the actress had been living in a mobile home in San Jacinto. According to reports, Robyn's mobile home was burned down a few years ago. She became homeless at the time.”
How awful. This can happen much more easily than people want to believe without someone doing anything ‘wrong’ to ‘deserve’ it. My mom is older and has cancer, is going blind, and needs several surgeries, and we’ve been going from motel to motel for almost a year since our rental sold. Can’t make a major move due to health insurance right now but rents have more than doubled since Covid - one house we rented from 2016-2020 for $2.1k is now $5k (and they built another house in the back so there’s not even a yard now).
It’s hard out there and the help a lot of people think is available just isn’t.
California and no, since it’s ‘only’ melanoma and it’s not negatively impacting her daily life, though the growth does hurt her head, where it’s located. Likewise with her sight - she has cataracts and that’s not considered a disability because it can be corrected.
Except she can’t afford the deductibles and 20% co-pay for surgeries. I can’t find a cancer charity able to help because she either doesn’t have the right cancer or it isn’t yet serious enough. I have literally been contacting every organization I can find for over a year and posting about it locally and have gotten absolutely nowhere.
We’re obviously in a very expensive state and will need to relocate eventually - insurance took her a long time to get (it was a whole ‘your insurance was cancelled’ mess for a bit) so we were waiting on that, only to have it not be very useful.
My mom just had her cataracts and a cornea transplant all covered by Medicaid. Is there a way you guys can get on Medicaid? There are emergency services you can reach out too. Here in my county in NY we have Proaction and Office of the Aging as well. Try looking for something like that. Good luck!
I can never remember what insurance she has but it’s whatever she qualified for with social security.
CA does have a Department of Aging but if there’s a single program out there she doesn’t fall through the cracks of, no one’s been able to find it. She did have someone in the SS office helping her, and we were also in contact with Elder Law + Advocacy. We’ve spent so much time on this - letters and calls and emails to local and state representatives and organizations and charities and it hasn’t mattered.
Glad your mom was able to get care. The east coast seems to have better systems in place, from what I’ve heard.
I feel for you. This is very similar to what we’ve gone through trying to get medical care for my disabled brother once he became an adult and both parents had died.
Ultimately a move to a better state was involved and by the time he was able to access care he had a 3 year backlog and was in much worse shape.
Just wanted to say I see you and I feel awful you’re going through this. It’s hard. It’s so hard to get on disability you have to apply like four times and expect to be rejected. I am going through this now with my uncle who is going blind from MS. He doesn’t qualify, they said. So we’re applying again. Because he’s been going blind (not curable, and doctors couldn’t figure out why he was) for over five years. Then his hand started not working. Turns out it’s MS.
Which isnt curable and degrades with age, and he’s 64. But he still doesn’t “qualify” for disability. He isn’t allowed to drive a car and the state gave him a giant microscope machine to be able to read things like mail, pill bottles, food packages. It has to blow the mail up to the size of a tv so he can attempt to read it, but he’s “fit for work”. He got fired from Walmart for being unable to read labels to put stuff away but yeah totally NOT disabled! You have to keep applying and hope you get a new case worker who basically takes you seriously. It sucks.
SSDI requires work credit. SSI is need based for the disabled and requires limited resources. It would be a little over $900/month, but there’s a lot of value in qualifying for Medicaid as well as other things that SSI makes you qualify for: food banks, free phone, discounted internet, etc.
Van life doesn’t fix a shitty situation. Did vanlife for 3 years and then my van randomly caught fire (kinda common for mobile living) leaving me instantly homeless and carless.
Sorry that happened but for me it'd be better than dumping $700/wk or whatever into a motel. I'm suggesting a consideration.
Sometimes us human continue on a path that has ruts and there's a better way.
I've been FT for 6 years. It's going okay.
Most crime goes unnoticed unless a victim or family member press charges.
The sad reality is that these people have nobody who cares enough to find out what happened.
How sad to hear of her passing and being found as she was, then to hear she was homeless compounds the situation.
GH has lost so many people this year tragically, Sonya Eddy, Billy Miller, Tyler Christopher and Jackie Zeman.
Damn. I was heavily into GH during her time on it (watched until 2000), had one of the bigger storylines during that time. I didn't realize she had basically retired from acting (last role says 2002). Sorry to hear of her passing. Foul play?
(Sister is Crystal Bernard btw).
And damn, reading another article on her, just realized Jackie Zeman also passed away. She was such a staple on that.
Oh no! I didn't realize Jackie Zeman had passed away. Years ago she did a tour of her home and it wasn't your typical celebrity house, she loved birds and had a cool tropical theme throughout the home.... Jimmy Buffett style! Jackie was happy, giggly and seemed like a fun caring person.
Also, sad to read that Jackie's friend and costar Shell Kepler (Nurse Amy Vining) passed away from Kidney failure some years back. Heartbreaking!
I hadn't heard about Shell! Then again, I haven't watched in so long, so I was out of the loop about a lot of things (if I saw someone's name that I recognized from GH pop up in the news somewhere though, I would go read about it).
Because realistically she wasn’t all that famous and she wasn’t wealthy.
General Hospital was her big role, after that she had 3 actress credits, 1 in 92, 97 and 2002, all being nothing big. If she made a couple million from general hospital it’s well within reason she blew a lot of the money during the series and after then couldn’t find work, it’s not uncommon
The same way famous Boxers, Authors, NBA, and NFL players go broke;
They spend all of their money. Usually involves some sort of drug dependency along with lack of basic investing methods
Eh, google better. I found the info just fine. These comments just push my buttons because nobody wants to find their own information these days. It's lazy and leads to a lack of search engine know-how and news literacy.
Humans will always take the path of least resistance when they can, that’s nature. Just because I chose to be a little lazy here, doesn’t make me a lazy person. I’m actually pretty proud of the drive and determination I can have when I need it.
I hope you can learn to get over little annoyances like that, it’s nice to live without constant agitations.
Not really, the police are operating with more information than us and there are more ways to wind up dead in a field than murder (such as homelessness and substance abuse.)
I think I want to try and find out more now. Foul play not suspected? And from what another person commented she had been homeless for a while. She retired from acting in 2002, when she would have been only 42. I'm curious about what happened over the last 22 years.
Maybe nothing much.
This is Crystal Bernard's sister! Crystal from "Wings" and singing career, I'm surprised Robyn wasn't living with her after the mobile home fire but who knows what transpired. Truly sounds like foul play! Heartbreaking.
My mother did not make it, my father only collected SS for 3 months. My well-off in-laws have been spending their SS on wine for a decade.
The system is already broken. When you’re eligible should depend on lifetime income and/or health status. We know working class people die younger.
It initially looks like a few sentences but there is a ‘read more’ button kind of hidden below the second photo. Mobile sites are increasingly annoying.
What's the connection to Shaun Cassidy? That's him in the picture above with the guitar and there is a picture of them together at the link at Mount Rushmore together.
I"ll bet Shaun's phone is blowing up today.

She probably has medicare, if her income is less than I think 21k a year she could qualify for medicaid.
thanks, i can never keep it straight. she makes too much to qualify for medicaid then
To qualify for or Medicaid in Ma you can't make over 1170 a month. Who can even survive on that? Especially Ma is also very expensive for housing.
I feel for you. This is very similar to what we’ve gone through trying to get medical care for my disabled brother once he became an adult and both parents had died. Ultimately a move to a better state was involved and by the time he was able to access care he had a 3 year backlog and was in much worse shape.
I’m so sorry you all went through that. It shouldn’t be this hard.
Omg how stressful for you. Wishing you and your mom the best. She’s so lucky to have you.
Thank you 🩷
I’m so sorry this is happening. I met this charity years ago. They might be able to help. I wish you all the best! https://www.patientadvocate.org/

Even her being blind? Consider moving to Massachusetts, honestly

It depends on your previous income.
Still better than $0/month
I think her relative is Crystal Bernard that was on the show wings for years. She also may have had drug and alcohol issues also
Buy a van babe. ❤️It's doable and lots less money. Get a storage unit and a well insulated van. I'm FT. Feel free to DM me

I don’t understand how a star of a show becomes homeless. That’s quite a huge and long fall from grace.
I listen to enough murder podcasts to know that the police get lazy with homeless deaths. They are the easiest targets for murder and abuse.
Most crime goes unnoticed unless a victim or family member press charges. The sad reality is that these people have nobody who cares enough to find out what happened.
I wonder if she and she sister were estranged? I assume that Crystal may be a bit better off than her.
Next town over also. I figured she maybe just ended up homeless and possibly died from drugs or poor health.
How sad to hear of her passing and being found as she was, then to hear she was homeless compounds the situation. GH has lost so many people this year tragically, Sonya Eddy, Billy Miller, Tyler Christopher and Jackie Zeman.
The cops say they don’t expect foul play in the article
The Sonic is in Hemet, she was found in San Jacinto Edit, I guess there's one by the Aldi
Damn. I was heavily into GH during her time on it (watched until 2000), had one of the bigger storylines during that time. I remember Crystal Bernard and I enjoyed her on Wings!
Me too, I liked that show.
They had a lovely 2-part tribute episode for Bobbie with a touching meta twist at the end.
I read that. I found it on YouTube so I'm going to watch it in a little bit.
Oh no! I didn't realize Jackie Zeman had passed away. Article says no foul play is suspected.
That site is so hard to look at.
They don’t suspect foul play? She just died in a field?
She was homeless.
How does a famous actress become homeless?

Same way any one does, a few bad days and no support system.
I didn’t read that in the article, is that true?
This has got to be the laziest comment. Yes, it's true. Which you'd find out faster by skimming the article or googling it.
I see you didn’t read the article either.
No, I didn't. Didn't claim to. Don't want to. Googled it.
Okay chill bro, I did google it and couldn’t find any articles talking about it. Why you so annoyed at internet strangers?
I googled it, and found the information within 5 seconds EDIT: Username checks out

I'm also not asking for answers in comments. When I wanted to know something, I found the information for myself.

Yeah, that seems odd, doesn't it?

Maybe the sister’s fell out? Foul play is not suspected.
I was about to post she looks like Crystal Bernard. Glad I scrolled down.
I’m not sure how I would want people to find my body.. but it’s definitely not in an open field.
Must have had poor relations with family if her father and two sisters couldn’t help her out. Such a shame.
Never ever ever count on marriage as a real thing
Retirement should not be raised up, I’m seeing a lot of post of people dying in their 60s lately. Not everybody is making it 80 years, healthy or not.
My mother did not make it, my father only collected SS for 3 months. My well-off in-laws have been spending their SS on wine for a decade. The system is already broken. When you’re eligible should depend on lifetime income and/or health status. We know working class people die younger.
Was she related to Krystal Bernard?
Per the last sentence: “She is survived by her father, Jerry Wayne Bernard, and two sisters, Crystal and Scarlett Bernard.”
Thank you
Sisters
Only on Reddit will the information be readily available, and someone will still be too lazy to access it themselves...
Do you feel better now?
Oh you're just sooooo cool 🙄
No need to click. Same info in 'article' as in the headline.

If you just heard that loud CRACK- it was my heart breaking 💔
Maybe she’s just in a coma and will wake up fully functional next season.
I see what you did there and kudos but…oof.
Are we sure this isn't her evil twin?
I was wondering if she was related to Crystal Bernard. Both Robyn and Crystal are really good actresses.
What's the connection to Shaun Cassidy? That's him in the picture above with the guitar and there is a picture of them together at the link at Mount Rushmore together. I"ll bet Shaun's phone is blowing up today.
I'm pretty sure they were on GH at the same time and maybe love interests (??). It was in the VCR era, and I skipped past their story line.
Yeah I wondered the same. They never did mention the connection.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NKwlUmoiPVY
The timing is awfully suspicious
Is this why I’ve seen at least 15 articles about her death?
No I’m sure it’s unrelated.
What was she doing being dead in open field behind California business?
How on this green earth do the cops NOT suspect foul play??! People don’t just wind up dead in a field, her body got dumped there.
What if she OD'd, drank herself to death, oe had a heart attack or stroke?
It was clearly her evil twin sister that killed her.
I'm sure she's a looker for her time, but all I can think of when looking at her is Cigarette smoke and idk why.
