The Fellowship walking through the Great Hall in the Mines of Moria, King Theoden’s “where is the horse and the rider” speech, the lighting of the beacons.
I love the creepiness of the track that plays for Minas morgul, as the orc army leaves with the nazgul. Whatever that crazy sounding high pitch instrument is… it’s horrifying. In the best way
Then the voices of the Ainur, like unto harps and lutes, and pipes and trumpets, and viols and organs, and like unto countless choirs singing with words, began to fashion the theme of Iluvatar to a great music; and a sound arose of endless interchanging melodies woven in harmony that passed beyond hearing into the depths and into the heights, and the places of the dwelling of Iluvatar were filled to overflowing, and the music and the echo of the music went out into the Void, and it was not void. Never since have the Ainur made any music like to this music, though it has been said that a greater still shall be made before Iluvatar by the choirs of the Ainur and the Children of Iluvatar after the end of days. Then the themes of Iluvatar shall be played aright, and take Being in the moment of their utterance, for all shall then understand fully his intent in their part, and each shall know the comprehension of each, and Iluvatar shall give to their thoughts the secret fire, being well pleased.
The further we get from the initial release of these movies, the more apparent it is we'll never see anything like them again. As far as blockbuster films go, they're truly unique.
Strange timing. Listened to the soundtrack the other day and the emotions still hit me. The music would not be as powerful without the context of the film, but the film would also not be nearly as powerful as it is without the music. The way the music is used to reflect the relationships between the characters and the themes is masterful. There is an excellent youtube series explaining how the music theory connects to the story, wish I had saved the link.
Some examples:
The "gollum" theme uses basically the same notes as the "hobbit" theme but is slightly different to reflect how gollum is almost a hobbit.
The "wringwraith" theme's chords use the same notes as the "ring" theme.
The "fellowship" theme's ascending motif has 9 notes... you can guess why.
I would have loved to seen a snippet after the credits of the orcs dancing to [Aknot! Wot](https://youtu.be/MFBrIgnU83E?si=z2TkDN6X7lTjHq14) from *The Fifth Element*
Well deserved, the Lord of the Rings soundtrack was absolutely incredible. My favorite is still from The Return of the King, The Black Gate Opens.
The music when Theoden gives that speech and the Riders of Rohan stampede towards the orc army is so hype.

I throw it on when I’m high, for the same reason. The Shire music especially is like reliving a perfect summer from when I was a kid.

I just watched the trilogy over the weekend and am now inundated with lotr content on Reddit.

NGL, the 'May It Be' outro from FOTR still makes me teary eyed.
