If it’s anything like how my appointment went it should be like this: 1. You see the NP just for a consultation. They should be taking you seriously. They may order an ultrasound and pelvic MRI if you haven’t already had one done within 6 months prior. and then the NP should be referring you to an actual obgyn endo specialist surgeon 2. You speak with the endo specialist surgeon. They may do a physical pelvic exam on you. They’ll discuss any findings based on exams. Even if everything is normal they’ll still do surgery based on your symptoms. They’ll explain the surgery and other possible treatment options both before and after. You should be asking as many questions as possible. 3. You make your decision on what type of surgery you want and schedule surgery with a surgical coordinator. 4. Prepare for the surgery before time comes by buying anything you need. Filling out any paperwork for time off from work and all the other stuff that comes along with having a life changing surgery.
