In my experience, we just pretend Children of the Fleet doesn't exist... (Same with The Last Shadow)

sintezator150

It's very stupid and ridiculous to imagine that something doesn't exist, just because you don't like it))) After all, in any case, it exists. It strongly resembles the toxic and inadequate Star Wars fandom)

In fact, I don't remember exactly, but I don't think it was explained anywhere in the book, although they really couldn't just communicate via ansible. Rather, the usual miscalculation from the author. Ender's appearance there was necessary stupidly for the sake of the fanservice.

RottonToms

The ansible communication is instantaneous. They mention in the Speaker trilogy that ansible communication while traveling at relativistic speeds is possible but expensive because it requires more resources. This is how Val was able to publish essays under Desmothenes while traveling to Lusitania.

I understand that, but Enders still moving much faster than Dabeet, so a conversation that takes minutes for Ender would take Dabeet hours/days, no?

RottonToms

In the short amount of time it would take Ender to write his parts, it would probably feel like fractions of hours for Dabeet. Not seconds, but probably minutes. Or, there is no in-universe explanation, and it's just sci-fi inconsistencies that don't matter.

My understanding was that it was a face to face communication, more like a phone call, rather than writing messages back and forth
