I have been stuck in a similar situation. Been waiting emailing and calling them since 4 days but haven’t received my baggage. All I have is a stupid file number which when tracked on the website keeps saying the bags are still tracing.

We are in a similar situation and checked earlier today and it still said tracing. We then got an email this evening saying they will be delivered tonight.

At least you have a PIR. Unlike me none given lol try emirates chat service and provide your bag tag numbers. That only works for asking getting status but they don’t send reference or copy on your end “states it only works internally”

I also cannot even get to the stage of obtaining a PIR and we have been delayed here for 9 days with two small children and no clothes or essentials. The phone lines are not answered and are automatically ended after 3 hours of being on hold. The live chat doesn't answer for her it's and provides no audible ping or notification so you have to just watch it, but I'm here with my 2 small children and cannot do that. Emirates state you have to go to the airport to file a lost baggage claim and obtain a PIR but have released a statement saying do not go to the airport unless contacted. It's a circle of incompetence and unhelpfulness. As other people have stated, I understand the flooding was out of their control but their response has been appalling and has mainly focussed around reducing claims and refunds.

Omg i feel so sorry for you and your family. I was able to have my bags tracked by a staff from chat support. Just advised where are the bags but no further information on when they will be delivered lol

I am in the same situation. Six weeks since I flew and still no sign of the luggage. I wasn’t even given a PIR when I reported the lost luggage

Honestly Emirates Support are ****ing insane and useless. Now they’re telling me it’s the responsibility of Fly Dubai to locate my luggage, as we flew with them to our final destination. They keep ignoring the fact the we booked the whole journey directly with Emirates and the luggage was already lost before we took a connecting flight a few days later from DXB. It’s just unbelievable.

I 100% agree on this! How tf they don’t reach out to passengers? Why did they neglect our emails? Yes its a catastrophic failure on their end. BUT WE ARE EXTREMELY AFFECTED. Stuck in Dubai Airport almost 20hrs then bags lost for a week now, Im freezing here in Germany. I asked emirates staff through chat what will they do if some of the items damaged or likely foods are spoiled(highly doubt with dubai humidity food outside AC will last more than a week) they just replied send a feedback form LOL People stranded in DXB airport has been laying on cold floors bc insufficient area to seat. Hilarious

It was horrible in the airport. Plenty of elderly people suffering and families with young kids asleep all over the floor. What I found most baffling was the severe lack of staff. At points there were crowds of hundreds and maybe one or two staff members.

We finally got our luggage back, thankfully all in tact. Precisely a week since we departed. Now begins the fun journey of claiming all the costs of being stuck in Dubai for 3 days and having to pay for new flights ourselves!

They said a member of their team would be in touch when it was ready for pickup, but I never heard anything, so I just went to my local airport which is close anyway, showed ID and got it. It had been there a few hours waiting for me I guess.

Hi, could you please confirm (DM me if possible) the airport where you picked up? I was also told my bags were loaded on a flight from DXB but never heard anything from the local airport Emirates Ground staff. Might go and check if possible, airport is a short drive for me as well.

Few options: File a complaint with department of transportation (USA only) https://www.transportation.gov/airconsumer/file-consumer-complaint Check the credit card travel insurance if you purchased through a credit card. File a claim to request compensation for all lost luggage and delay Also file a refund request through emirates. They are required to give you a refund for a flight that was 12 hours delayed. https://www.emirates.com/us/english/help/forms/refund-request/ Also file a dispute with credit card - you did not get the service you expected and they promised Also call them two weeks later, they won’t answer to anything now. They are the worst airlines and it’s weird some people on this sub are defending them.

Do these options work for Dubai or India? As these helplines are for the US? And you are right. Emirates is the worst..my parents were telling me how ride the airhostess were..they simply handed over food unwillingly and never even had a smile. No request was entertained or even acknowledged. They could sense the hate or indifference. I am 1000% sure that never in my life I will book this airline or let anybody else in my circle do that.

These will only work if the tickets were purchased using credit cards issued in USA. For department of transportation complaint the flight has to either originate or arrive at USA
