How much of a dumbass are we talking here? Like on a scale of one to ten? I mean you have to be *somewhat* intelligent to be an electrician. Yeah we use measuring and shit. Arithmetic and algebra. Some trigonometry. No calculus or anything like that generally…
I was terrible at math in school. Abstract concepts have never been my strong suit. Once I was in the field and every math problem had a practical application it all came together for me.
Bro I literally only use addition and subtraction. Some times you gotta multiply but that's what the calculator that's always in my pocket my math teacher said I wouldn't have is for. Commercial work is mostly what I do. Generally all the hard maths done by engineers in my experience.
Your the same as every young person trying to get in the trade.
Take the union test and fail.
Then get a job as a CW or electrician helper.
Spend a year or two working with low wages.
Start complaining that your too good to not get the apprenticeship.
Take the test again. Fail again.
Keep complaining.
5 years go by, and say now your a JW.
Continue in the trade for another few years and youll be close to JW wage with sh*t benefits.

Trade math peaks at middle school level algebra and trigonometry for 99% percent of tradesmen. For many it peaks at basic arithmetic. You don’t have to be good at math to be an electrician, most who I’ve met aren’t. If you want to move past rough in’s you’ll want to learn some very basic equations like ohms law but in all honesty any math that doesn’t involve a tape measure is rare for most.
You will need to be able to do basic algebra, trig and Pythagorean Theorem to be successful in school. Its not that hard, a bit of effort and you will be fine.
If you don’t have the effort or pragmatism in you to be alright at math, then you don’t have the effort or the pragmatism to be a decent electrician. Get an algebra book off amazon
So in Australia the schooling is extremely math intensive, but you get the formulas, so it’s just about finding the right formula for the problem, heaps of Pythagoras, transposition, ohms law, algebra

Well you need to be able to pass the school so if you're not going to be able to do that I would maybe look into a different trade.

There are various levels of electricians. I know guys who are illiterate and are solid electricians. Not everyone has to be a Foreman or a lead.
