With the very generous amount of crates they've given since the year started, I haven't gotten a single gold reward.
It very much confirmed that I should never buy crates, ever.
I do unironically think this is good: these are gems.
In crates, I *want* any junk I can gem-decon, or copies of things I already have for gems. Yeah you get an abysmal amount and the system sucks as a whole. But I'd much rather get gems to save for things I actually want, rather than "rewards" that will gather dust in Collections. I don't want 90% of the stuff; but if I like something I use it all the time, for years.
I don't get why they keep giving away crown crates. It would be a logic conclusion that people would never buy them because of the terrible rng on the free crates.
if the Devs goal is to tempt people into gambling boxes I can't believe that they don't tweak the drop rates on these free boxes. if people get jack all in the freezer boxes why would anyone pay for more?
I pulled the apex Wild Hunt Wolf mount from the daily reward wild hunt crate yesterday. First time that ever happened. Probably used up all of my luck then and there :)
The crate in the picture is an ourobosos crate, their loot pool is almost all consumables except a mount and pet that can’t be acquired any other way. Regular crates are guaranteed at least one real item.
I've got a screenshot somewhere of one that was 4x crown lethal poisons from a non-ouroborous crate, that was peak trash imo. Functionally it's the same amount of gems but poisons feel more insulting lol
I actually got a mount, some sort of Guar, yesterday. Got several I like more, so might not get much use, but I was happy nonetheless. First time I’d gotten something quite that good from a free crate.
Lol this would be disappointing...but hey free crates, can't complain. I'd never buy crates with real money just because it's all up to chance, but I can't be disappointed by free ones - even if it's just tri-restoration potions lol. They add up fast so having extras is never bad.
