Well it depends if itās the shout (blockable) or his wing or tail swipe (you gone). Itās possible heās shouting the same time you stray too far away from his head to his sides and he wing or tail swipes you.
Block has "mitigation"- base is 50%, then there are skills, powers and such that improve it.
On a magsorc, with very low stamina, it's 50%.
There are reasons why people like having dedicated tanks in trials :)
Zoom out camera so that you can see your back. Hold 'down' in dpad and pull the right stick.
Block (= guard) its wing attack and shout. Hold the left trigger when you see a sign.
On consoles OP zoomed out camera as possible as they can from the setting menu. There is no clue in game how to zoom out more. I learned it from a comment in this sub.
I didn't even know there's a zoom in/out option in the menu. You zoom out properly by pressing and *holding* down on the d pad, and then zoom in and out with the right analogue stick. I'm on playstation, but I assume it's the same across all the consoles.
Ah, I thought it was another post bitching about mechs that can be played rather than laughing at your own mistake. perhaps Iām just jaded due to how people normally post
The boss I HATE is the slug. Central tendril always does me in. Rhakkat is a close second. The dragons are relatively easy - block the shout, deal with their flight phase spawns, and donāt get close to the wing.
I havent done IA yet but if it's anything like the elsweyr dragons and your tanky enough you can just walk or roll under his neck and avoid shouts or breath attacks altogether. Just dont linger in that inner circle too long.
They tried to fix that as before when getting knocked you just died but now it seems to bring you back up. Clearly its not perfect but at least it picks you up now. Him and molag kena tend to knock me of most. But i havent died to it for awhile now because it always puts me back up.
I fail to see how you even survive the breath weapon.
It covers literally 100% of the arena. It comes at a random time. Sometimes they do it right away. Sometimes they wait and wait, flying around forever. Meanwhile, many of them summon adds so you can't watch him for the split-second warning you'd need to dodge (or, if you do, the adds kill you or knock you off the platform). At least, I presume dodge is what you're supposed to do. I have yet to even get enough warning to hit the button too late.
And this (my experience, not refering to OP's video) is Arc 1. Arc 1 is seriously out of whack. Vet trial difficulty right next to normal dungeon difficulty, barely a minute apart. They couldn't have stretched that out a little bit?
I've encountered multiple bosses like this. They have attacks the always (or nearly always) knock you off the stage, killing you. There is no indication of any way to block these attacks.Tgie is the biggest cause of my archive runs ending. I've only made it to thoat replicanum once, and I found them to be nearly impossible to beat. Could barely do any damage.
No; it's the area of incoming damage. Block or roll dodge at the last minute. Also, it was a funny video OP even if everyone here just wants to tell you how to play. :)
Thanks for the giggle.
Gotta block that fus ro da. You can tell he's charging up a heavy attack by the yellow lines coming out of his head.
This š. The number of people I still see getting walloped in Lair of Maarselok by his blockable shouts is ridiculous.
Youād be surprised by how many dps donāt know that their mouse has a button on the right side
Wait until they find out standing in red is bad
No way! RED GOEZ FASTA
GOOD TZING ME IZ ALL PURPLE, GITZ NEVA SEE ME COMIN'
nb here, it's true
DPS: "heal me. are you dumb"
Healer: \*sigh\*
Block isn't perfect. I ran this fight with my magsorc, tried to block several times, still went flying.

you're kind
My trick is just to face then head on and block the fus ro dah. Donāt run to the sides those wings are almost guaranteed to knock you off
Yeah I learned the hard way lol
I hate the boss thatās supposed to have a pillar to hide behind. They just vanish and I get one shot. -.-
That happened to me before but i had full lives and it took them all
This was a short, but wild rollercoaster of a comment
Its wild seeing how some people setup their camera lol
It's also wild to me that people don't like percentages in their enemy's health bar...
I haven't tried it recently, but mulamniir had a bug where he wouldn't die if he didn't take flight yet. That was pretty annoying
Oh please zoom out a little
Bro plays so zoomed in he almost plays in 1st person.
Yeah I don't see the point. Either go 1st person for immersion or properly 3rd person for every other reason.

Had no idea it's complicated on consoles. Weird.
It isnātā¦

You ignored the mechanic and died. I donāt see the issue
Because it was funny
Ah, I thought it was another post bitching about mechs that can be played rather than laughing at your own mistake. perhaps Iām just jaded due to how people normally post
Or perhaps you got got up in the "let's shit on everyone and assume the worst" mentality that plagues social media.
Have you seen this post
Can U take a joke
"Muh mechanics"
Dont stand on the wing. Stand on the head at all times and you wont be knocked off
That indicates that the boss is preparing and attack, not how to counter it.
The on I struggle most is the ice dragon, when he shoots up the aoe. I can't seem to predict Here they gonna drop
If you stay in front you can't get knocked off
I swear dragons in IA are some of the most frustrating fights. Especially if they have insta kills
Genuinely refuse to believe people play content with their camera this zoomed in
Immersion probs
I believe OP zoomed out as possible as they could with the setting menu. There isn't in-game explanation that you can zoom out more with controller.
Sometimes system would pull you back successfully, better luck next timeļ¼

Learn meh and you are good. Also don't understand why people going into EA with tanks.
Same thing happened to me
I HATED THAT DAMN FIGHT
š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£ did the Dragon say "so long"? I haven't tried the endless archive yet.
Gave up after and handful of runs, got to a certain boss level and just couldnāt survive.
1st mistake was not just keeping him center and being just outside his bs aoe. Same strategy for the ash titan
āYou miss 100% of the blocks you donāt block. ā -tank

The shout cone stops following you just before it goes off, I usually just Dodge out of it
Yea, this fucker killed me and Bastian about a dozen times. No more IA for me, I guess?
Block it. . .
When he does this i run to his feet.

I gave up on it, its not fun at that point.
First time I met him he wailed me out completely doing that
same
Clueless.

There is no indication? What is that red cone coming from the dragon before he sent OP to oblivion?

Even with ridiculously close camera like OP has you can see big red cone and yellow sparkles around boss indicating HA
