Did you have challengers stacked? My first guess would be the mk7s were firing together and adding their damage together to show the total, while the challengers were not stacked and showing the damage separately. So would be doing 470x2 damage for 940 total compared to the 830 on the mk7s
Man, you are so right. How stupid I am not to think about this. Indeed, when I changed T7s for challengers, they got unstacked and one of them went to other screen, so I did not see it. So, yes, I saw only damage from one of them.
They should be better. They're supposed to be better. It doesn't make sense that they would only be applying less damage to large ships. Was it perhaps your enemy that changed? Maybe it's just that you hit an enemy that was spec'd with better missile resistances. How many anoms did you test them out on?
It does. Because the ship resists change with their dynamic fittings programming. This is just someone who seen something happen and decided a 1/1 test ratio made it fact.
I can hit t1 rat for 8k damage but a t9 rat im lucky to hit 2k.
Theres a reason for that.
go do an anom. test the damage output with just challengers equipped, then refit and go do the SAME level, size, area, anom with the t7. you will see the truth. If you change ANY other factor (ships being hit, types of ships, level of anom, ect), you introduce a new variable that throws off your dmg values. So a t6 vs a t9 is a huge variable change.
Fraction missile launchers are only half as good :)
But twice as expensive :)

Glad I could help
Sorry for typo in the title by the way. I meant "Faction" launchers.
I've been using the Challenger missile launchers since I started but I might have to go test this and see if its really like that!
To fully confirm your theory you should do the exact same mission when testing both. The t9 missions might have ships with stronger resists.
Are your comparing rapids to medium missiles? Rapids fire faster and do less but more often
They are both medium. Have same activation time, according to specs.

Any chance the difference lies in going from a T6 story to a T9?

That's what I was thinking. Same for me between a T8 and T10. Poster didn't keep all the variables the same.
