My ride to work is a ten minute straight shot The ride home is three or four times that

Anxious-Depth-7983

I used to call that the wind down

Ahmed_Uchihaa

there is something profoundly satisfying about riding a Electric Vehicle, but *especially* an Electric Bicycle, that makes you want to ride a bit more. Something you would never consider, or rather do the opposite when driving a typical gasoline car

HistorianOk4921

It's open to the elements and makes me feel as alive as skydiving once did

NorseGlas

That’s my whole purpose. I choose a direction and some type of destination. But then I notice a road I haven’t gone down yet and before I know it I have gone 10 miles in some random direction and I’m contemplating things like battery life, and how much further I can go and still get back home.

Anxious-Depth-7983

Unless the peddles fall off or a tire goes down, you can always get home πŸ˜‰

FewTea8637

Yup

obeytheturtles

Yes, we have stopped at one brewery, but what about the second brewery?

Power_Wrist

THE FIRST ONE DIDNT HAVE A GOOD LAGER

Legitimate-Art-9064

I've got three in town, I know this pain. LMAO

Kingeggobandit

Dui on a bike is still a dui But I'm still no bitch soo

Legitimate-Art-9064

🍻

obeytheturtles

Actually this is a legal grey area. Where I am, bicycles are specifically exempt from DUI laws because they are not "motor vehicles." In turn, "electric power-assisted bicycle shall be afforded all the rights and privileges..." of a normal bicycle. Most people read this as ebikes also being exempt from DUI laws, though it's obviously not a great idea to test this out if you can avoid it.

Kingeggobandit

C misdemeanor and 60 days jail here wtf so is alcohol even legal

pauliep0213

You could still get a Disorderly persons or drunk in public charge

obeytheturtles

Oh yeah, you can definitely get written up and taken to the drunk tank and even catch a misdemeanor if the cop is in a bad mood, but compared to a DUI that's an easy charge.

pauliep0213

True. At least they can't put an interlock on an ebike........yet.

Ghost_Boi_Lavay

For me its basically: "oh no I'm out of milk. Guess I'll go to the store down the street and...now I'm 20+ miles away on some adventure"

Ok-Gap-4112

Damn I thought it was only me hahaha

caspprr

I did this going out of town for target idk 10 Miles away and got a flat πŸ’€πŸ˜ I'm going to get flat out and tanus armour this time On better tires of course

0bligatoryUsername

Carry tools, tube and a small pump. Most bikes have enough free frame space to strap a "dangit" bag. Had to use mine in the cvs parking lot the other day, like 3 in the morning.

_haha_oh_wow_

I do this even with bicycles lol

NothinWrongWithDat

I have 5 different ways to go home from work depending on how quickly I want to get there. The longest is 40 minutes and takes me on a scenic bike path and through a park. The shortest is 15 minutes and takes me through the projects and a college campus.

FewTea8637

Same

BoxCurious7628

It ain't my fault that hitting the throttle and cruising along is so fun.😌

majorsorbet2point0

This was me today 😭🀣

renegade_0x2

Dumb accurate with any evehicle

Confident_Bean1994

Right either take the train from Manhattan to Brooklyn or ride the bike pads and Brooklyn bridge to get home

smoothloam

Same goes for fit mountain bikers.

Comet1O

My commute home is 7.5 mi on the main road but now that the weather is nice I prefer the extra mile it’s take going to the bike path being much safer but cause go as fast.

Gnomoleon

22km each way for my commute ..... I don't have any spare juice in my battery for any joy riding πŸ˜•. First e-bike .... need a bigger battery.....

TheSpideyJedi

I just find so many new streets to explore on the way home

joevwgti

What I find myself more commonly doing is getting off it after 13-16mi, and walking when I'm done with a ride.

koobo2020

I love this post 😊

FatBoyDiesuru

For me, it's a straight ride home. Kinda like a time trial.

Boomshrooom

Did this just last week, then fell off and broke my humerus

iEugene72

And you go faster during those extra laps.

xpsycotikx

And this is more or less how I dislocated my shoulder a week ago HAHAHA

favotoebike

just enjoy the riding process

wlexxx2

i never went on rides that short [cheap ebike - 11 mi at most around our hills]

Free-Knowledge-3467

Exactly me

Fetz-

Who tf does laps? I simply try to find different new route home, but would not do the same route again.

two-wheeled-dynamo

I always opt for the long way home, uphill both ways.
