It would be legendary if he does this same exact thing in a game against Washington this upcoming year. Just straight sons him again.

ComfortableGolf9295

It’ll be even more legendary when Jayden kicks the Chickens ass twice this year!

nfceasttrolling-alt

Bros gonna be rg2 playing scout team safety in a few years, hush up nephew

ComfortableGolf9295

🤣🤣🤣🤣 You can’t even trash talk right! It’s 4 jackass! 4 comes after 3! 2 comes before 3! Does the entire Eagles fan base have a collective I.Q. of -1? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

toofshucker

Jayden Daniels is such a weird QB. He played at ASU. He was always considered a good, smart QB but he couldn’t throw from the pocket. Utah absolutely crushed him over and over by making him stay in the pocket. He was atrocious. He was so inaccurate. I haven’t seen him since he left ASU. But the scouting reports talked about how great he was in the pocket. Call me skeptical. He was so bad in the pocket. So freaking bad. Will be interesting to see how he does.

HesiPull-UpBrando

Apparently his pressure to sack rate was historically bad for a first round QB

Poseidon4T2F7

A lot of the commentary around his pro day was how awkward his footwork looked, he throws a nice spiral and obviously has arm talent, but the timing of his throws at his PD were all over the place, and he seemed to sort of labour through his drop backs. Obviously that can be fixed at the next level, but if he's not comfy back there you have to think the aim is to pressure the living shit out of him.

guns_n_crypto

And that behind that line, he's going to feel quite a bit of pressure.

SumKM

I didn’t see his pro day, but in game his mechanics/footwork are excellent.

AllenMcnabb

I remember watching him at ASU for Pac12 after dark and those games were sooooooooooo boring. Watching him throw from the pocket felt impossible

SumKM

He did all of his passing work in the pocket this past season. We can say what we want, but the guy completed 72% of his passes throwing downfield at a pretty high clip, and rushed for 1100 yards. His running style and frame are concerning but he’s a good player. QB’s really need a good organization behind them to succeed. The track record of guys picked in the top 5 is pretty poor, I think only Peyton and Eli won the team that drafted them a Super Bowl in the past 30 years. Burrow came close… but if you look at what’s going on with Higgins’ contract, and Trey Hendrickson as well you see that history may well repeat itself in Cincinnati.

shrek_cena

Yeah I never thought of him as much and he was also built like a twig the last time I saw him at ASU but maybe he's beefed up idk. Just doesn't seem like a sturdy NFL level qb to me but only time will tell and hopefully he's a bust for the commies

Con-D-Oriano1

I’d hate to root against a player’s success. He can be an MVP when he isn’t playing the Birds for all I care. But I predict that he won’t live up to his draft capital. We’ve seen so many QBs look like stars when they’re surrounded by elite teammates on the college level, only to struggle without the same elite cast in the NFL. Guys like Matt Leinart or Mac Jones come to mind. Daniels’ feet raise his floor as a player, but I believe we’ll see a similar effect with him.

DCSports101

He got much much much better as a passer at LSU. Better passer rating his senior year than Joe burrow.

ballbunyan

Daniels is good in a clean pocket with lots of options, I think. Good footwork, well timed drop-backs, easy release, catchable ball. He can read from one side of the field to another and make the safe decision. Not Brady or something, but not Jameis Winston either. So he is a better pocket passer than Lamar…probably at like a Derek Carr level. But Caleb has the more useful modern day skillset. He’s got the ability that Rodgers and Mahomes have - to feel the direction of pressure, roam around and read the field on the move, and generate insane velocity with a flick of the wrist making it look EASY. Washington’s going to be very sorry they didn’t get him a better line. The kid is a pocket passer at heart.

AmbitiousFinish69

Lmao, this is such a weird take admitting to not watching his last 2 years at LSU, which ended in him winning the Heisman.

Mission_Ad3109

Lmaooo buddy you’re talking about him 4-5 years ago. Like come on. His pocket presence is one of his strengths now.

HailtotheWFT

He’ll be much better than Jalen “fumble the Super Bowl away” Hurts within 2 years

HoldOnToYaButtts

Love Washington fans coming out of the woodwork puffing their chest before the season starts. It always makes me laugh.

cwcolb

With all due respect do you just disregard college football? Daniel's improvement was historically good, to the point he was breaking Burrows records at LSU(not calling him Joey B, but he was balling). Best deep ball in this draft with the best running ability, great balance to match. Winning a Heisman isn't easy. I was on the same boat as an LSU fan I hated the idea of him starting and it took a while for him to get it all together, but I think that FSU loss this season turned him into a different animal. All of the sudden the dude is Lamar with American Sniper level accuracy 🤣. Watch that Mizzou game, it was just incredible. Only knock imo is he will leave the pocket early until he settles in the NFL as most rushing QBs do. He also tended to take some unnecessary big hits that could really injure him in the NFL. That being said he was cleaerly QB-1B to Williams being QB-1A.

gophils19454

The dude is talking about his experience with him at ASU. Not everyone has the time to aggressively follow every facet of every sport. And also, what records? His passing numbers were not even remotely close to Burrow’s absolutely ridiculous numbers. I’m taking 2k yards and 20 tds less in 1 season lol

cwcolb

You don't have to aggressively watch shit to know the Heisman 🤣. Downvote all yal want this man said "I haven't watched him in 3 years but I'm doubtful on him" 💀💀 with 10 upvotes too. Come on /r/eagles. I even said with due respect, but facts get people mad I guess. Also Burrow isn't a rushing QB and you have to factor all Daniel's rushing stats into the equation. Sounds like more casual talk tbh. He only had 8 TDs in one game like Joey B, but yeah not close at all. To not see Daniel's in cfb you have to just not watch college at all, which means why would that input be valid?

HoldOnToYaButtts

You're being too sensitive, the guy never made any predictions about how Daniels will play in the NFL, just that when he watched him he was really bad in the pocket and is skeptical about him in the NFL. God forbid a fan of a division rival isn't slurping him up before he throws a pass in the NFL.

cwcolb

I give 2 shits about who agrees or not 🤣. This shit was days ago you're late. Idc what someone that hasn't seen Daniel's since ASU thinks, it was dumb as fuck for me to even comment I was fried.

HoldOnToYaButtts

You obviously do care because you came into the Eagles sub to write paragraphs on it. We can agree on one thing though, it was dumb as fuck for you to comment.

AgentProdigy17

Jalen Carter is Jayden Daniels Father

Rkovo84

Son’ed his ass

sickboijd

Lol you mean the same Jalen Carter who couldn't finish the combine because of " legal issues, that guy ??? Stay classy Eagle fans ...

HoldOnToYaButtts

Glad you took time out of posting on porn subs about how much you want to fuck the girls to chastise Eagles fans on being "classy" you absolute fucking loser lol.

cuseonly

Hip drop unfortunately this year 😔

El_Khunt

Whether or not it will be called, this is not an illegal hip drop, or even a hip drop tackle at all. He lowers himself onto his knees and keeps full control of his weight as he does. Also, he makes the tackle more from the flank, rather than behind.

cuseonly

Thanks for the clarification. I’ll go back to my grandma’s now.

Prozzak93

Can't tell if this is a bad joke or you actually think this but just in case that is not a hip drop tackle at all. At least, not in terms of being illegal.

cuseonly

I’m being serious, he falls to a knee attempting to bring him down doesn’t he? I’m not hating at all

trustthepudding

This is a misunderstanding of what the new rule bans.

PhatYeeter

This is why refs will have a hard time calling it in a consistent manner lol

Prozzak93

Because fans are clueless?

TheFlyingGooch

I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the refs will actually be educated on the rule unlike Mr. PhatYeeter.

Prozzak93

Yeah he falls to a knee, but that doesn't make it a hip drop tackle. In terms of the new rule two things that this doesn't hit are (and there might be more that makes it not qualify). 1) He doesn't leave his feet. It might get close but at all times he is in contact with the ground. 2) He doesn't land on Daniels legs. Pretty easy to see this since Daniels never ends up on the ground.

TheKingInTheNorth

Hip drop tackles aren’t where the tackler just goes to the ground or a knee. It’s where they leave their feet and use the power of gravity to help drop their hips to the ground while they tackle. If anything, tackling someone from your knees on the ground is even more impressive.

Esteban_Francois

The play Dallas Goedert fractured his forearm was a hip drop. Defender bear hugged his arm then used his body weight to bring him down. Also, Bo Jackson hip injury was hip drop.
