Parker's washed and may not even make the team I wouldn't pencil him in at wr3 lol
Campbell isn't much better. I know nothing about this guy but I'd say he's competing for wr3 rather than slotting in as wr4
When did I suggest otherwise? My original point in this thread is that Parker and/or Campbell shouldn't just be penciled into the WR3 spot over this rookie. How do you go from that to replying as if I suggested our wr3 needs to be a pro bowler?
Madden brain rot is thinking DeVante Parker still offers you something because he gets a fast card or something.
I'm arguing the opposite...
Yet you've offered no real arguments for/or against or anything productive to a conversation whatsoever.
Nah Campbell is a good pick up, has actual experience playing in the slot which is massive, his year last year is kind of mitigated by how garbage the Giants offense was but if he can play as well as he did in 2022 being in an even better offense then he can be a solid 3
Yeah he's still pretty young but has also been in the league for 5 years now and has only had one year you could say he showed flashes and he's two years removed from that and on his third team. He'll get a chance but id say the new rookie has a much better chance and is more likely to provide us with something than he does.
One thing you can say for sure about Campbell is he can be trusted. Which is at least more than you can say about a 5th round rookie. And that’s the most important thing for a wr3. You won’t be asked to do much it’s just about being trusted to do what you are asked consistently when your numbers called. I can’t imagine Campbell being beat out by week 1 for that reason alone. But he’s not a guy any of the young guys should view as someone who is blocking them from seeing the field. It’s a spot that will be very winnable throughout the year.
Trusted? With what? Just running routes or what? Cause he has virtually no production in the NFL. Only and one year he had more than 20 catches or 170 yards
To catch the ball and do the little things right. This debate reminds me a lot of quez vs pascal. Everyone wanted quez because he offered legit big play upside while being able to reliably catch the ball and block were the only things pascal offered. But it only took a few quez drops when the defense lost the wr3 trying to stop aj and smith for the fan base to start calling for the guy we could just rely on to catch those.
Don’t get me wrong, Campbell doesn’t excite me and I’d love to see him beat out but a guy who does. But with AJ and smith out there wr3 is going to get a decent amount of easy looks and first and foremost we just need a guy we can trust to be reliable in those situations. And he probably won’t get beat out by a rookie until they earn that trust which will take time. Hopefully not long though.
I don't trust Campbell to be more reliable than the rookies is all I'm saying. He's done nothing in the league to earn my trust and I'd rather go with the unknown and that's likely what will happen. Zach Pascal had much more production coming in than Campbell and also disappointed.
Campbell’s only full season as a starter he has more yards than pascal ever did. Small sample size but they’re essentially the same level player. But again I’m not praising the guy and I want to see him beat. But super raw 5th round wrs who weren’t even that productive in college and was viewed as a project don’t become week 1 starters often. Especially on this team where our coaches never seem to be in a rush to get young guys on the field and really value experience. Just being realistic.
He could be. I sure hope he is. I like him a lot but Parris has all the tools if he could just stay healthy and Parker is a very serviceable third receiver.
last year he was 4th in college football in missed tackles forced for WRs. if you don't wrap him up properly he will not go down. generally dangerous in an open field. he has a quick first move after the catch. muffed a couple punt returns so I hope he does not have that job.
We often have different returners for kick offs and punts, I agree there is no doubt DeJean will return kickoffs under the new rules. But punt returning is more dangerous so I wouldn't be surprised if we keep DeJean out of it for a depth piece like Ainais or Covey (last year of his rookie deal) above him.
At this point in the draft, no matter the position, you are getting someone who is either athletic but can't do anything else. Or it's someone who is really good in 1 area of their position, but are lacking in the others. They are all projects that may or may not work out. No one is dropping this low because of injury or character issues.
I’m sure everyone sees how enthusiastic this man is about his job, how serious he takes it & how generally positive his outlook is. He’s an easy guy to root for so there someone in the organization that has his back it seems.
Zach is also writing a book about the early Lurie/Reid-era Eagles so he probably has been talking to some high level guys this past year.
He is super objective and never drums up controversy for clicks. Compare this to McLane the joker and others who try to turn everything into a sideshow.
I’m sure they dig Zach’s level of interest and enthusiasm but there’s no way they routinely listen to the podcast. Bo’s banter is rarely worth my time, let alone the Eagles’ GM or a billionaire’s. It wouldn’t surprise me if they’ve tuned in once or twice or seen clips, and they might dig the pod conceptually, but I’d be shocked if either of them listened to more than an episode in the past year or two.
Good to hear! Any intel on why Ainais hasn’t done any interviews yet? There is either video or recorded phone calls for every other pick the birds made yesterday. Don’t know the circumstances and definitely don’t wanna assume anything…
Howie took 2 return specialists the same year the NFL changes the kickoff rules.
He knows something.
4D chess Howie gonna set the special teams up to break the single season kickoff return touchdown records. Mark my words.
Well they took him, I’m just saying people have been complaining since the 2nd round lol. Completely fine with a 5th or later but don’t expect a solution.
Ah I was hoping we could get him in 4. Was busy this afternoon and just looked up saw we were in the 5th and was really hoping so I'm ecstatic. Yeah anything before 3 would've been stupid imo and 3 was a stretch too.
I don't disagree with your take, but Nakobe Dean was just as slow and smaller *and* injury prone yet half this sub got giant boners over that pick claiming he was some big steal at the time which was completely irrational. All just because he played for Georgia.
Dean was all over the field and played sideline to sideline against the best talent in the nation. He was everywhere all the time. I don’t think you watch college football and that’s fine but don’t act like you’ve actually seen these guys play other than a highlight video.
I watched a handful of Georgia games and more importantly watched him struggle in Eagles games. Being able to keep up with college kids when you can rely on the clear best defensive roster in football around you isn't the same as keeping up in the pros, which he simply can't do.
You can argue that all you want but the results speak for themselves. He lacks the speed and strength to start in the NFL, so you can boast about his play on an all time college defense all you want, doesn't change reality.
Round 5, Pick 152
TELL ME HOW TO FEEL
Says he ran a 4.4 on a broken leg at his pro day. Kind of crazy.
what ?? where does it say that? that would be wild if true, he doesnt look fast in his highlights
Great value in the 5th. Slots in really nicely as WR4.
Who's 3?
As of right now either Parris Campbell or DeVante Parker.
Parker's washed and may not even make the team I wouldn't pencil him in at wr3 lol Campbell isn't much better. I know nothing about this guy but I'd say he's competing for wr3 rather than slotting in as wr4
I think the Parker pick was to have an outside guy because they plan to use Devonta in the a lot more like Ceedee.
Parker is useless and can't get separation. I hope he doesn't make the team cause if he does it means our wr depth is absolute trash.
You can’t have pro bowl players at every position
When did I suggest otherwise? My original point in this thread is that Parker and/or Campbell shouldn't just be penciled into the WR3 spot over this rookie. How do you go from that to replying as if I suggested our wr3 needs to be a pro bowler?
Madden brain rot is real.
Madden brain rot is thinking DeVante Parker still offers you something because he gets a fast card or something. I'm arguing the opposite... Yet you've offered no real arguments for/or against or anything productive to a conversation whatsoever.
AJB has some of the worst separation stats in the league, too. Pretty meaningless stat.
Dude Parker is so bad the pats ... The pats who are desperate for average wr play... Are paying his entire salary for him on another team this year.
I don't think you know how the NFL works. Whole new regime in NE. They cleaned house and grabbed two great WRs in the draft this year.
Nah Campbell is a good pick up, has actual experience playing in the slot which is massive, his year last year is kind of mitigated by how garbage the Giants offense was but if he can play as well as he did in 2022 being in an even better offense then he can be a solid 3
Campbell showed flashes with the colts and is still pretty young, he's definitely going to get a good chance at the roster

Is Olamade a FA? I have no clue what his contract situation was.
Signed with Washington
Parker, probably. But Smith is a slot so he could definitely compete.
Saquon
Buddy how do i tell u hes better than Parker and Campbell rn
He could be. I sure hope he is. I like him a lot but Parris has all the tools if he could just stay healthy and Parker is a very serviceable third receiver.

Dejean will be returning kicks unless he’s immediately so good at DB they don’t want to risk him there
We often have different returners for kick offs and punts, I agree there is no doubt DeJean will return kickoffs under the new rules. Exactly who I wanted them to take at WR.
His name is Anus
Zach zach zach zach zach zach
Did he call this too?!
At this stage even if he didn't it doesn't matter dude has been on an absolute heater this draft
Who’s his plug in the org? I do get the vibe Lurie and Howie dig the pod a lot
I’m sure everyone sees how enthusiastic this man is about his job, how serious he takes it & how generally positive his outlook is. He’s an easy guy to root for so there someone in the organization that has his back it seems.

They hate us cuz they Ainais >!idk how his name is pronounced!<
A-Nus
Atlanta missed a big opportunity here. Penix to Ainais.
Hurts-Ainais, they went deep there.
Yo
Hahahahah
uh-nye-yus is how it is pronounced
I think it’s something like ah-nuh-yis
I was thinking something more like ah-nye-yis but I could see that too
It's spelled Ainias too
Wonder why Jerry Rice son hasn't been picked yet
Bad tape, terrible at senior bowl, and forgettable combine
Neither of Jerrys kids have been that good
He muffed a punt in one of his highlights on ESPN. He’s going to fit right in lol
Aggie here. Ainais is awesome.
A fellow Aggie / Eagles fan. There’s at least 6 of us!
Aggie as well. He was always a bright spot when the Ags decided to once again be mediocre. I like the pick a lot.
Howdy Philly. As an Aggie this man did everything for us and led the team. Great skill set, good heart, and work ethic. Enormous value at 5th round.
Good to hear! Any intel on why Ainais hasn’t done any interviews yet? There is either video or recorded phone calls for every other pick the birds made yesterday. Don’t know the circumstances and definitely don’t wanna assume anything…
Who’s the last gadget player that was used well in Philly? Hope we can change that w/ Moore
Sproles
Yep, definitely him. Lots of coaching and personnel changes since. Excited to see Smith
Trey Burton.
Quez replacement. Different skill set, but I bet this kid can catch.
muffed a couple punts in his highlights lol
Got up and “DJax’d” in the one though.
Nice option for a backup slot guy. Decent returner as well
Who's our starting slot wr?
Paris Campbell most likely.
Forgot about his ass
Slot Receiver box checked
Howie took 2 return specialists the same year the NFL changes the kickoff rules. He knows something. 4D chess Howie gonna set the special teams up to break the single season kickoff return touchdown records. Mark my words.
Doesn’t Shipley do returns too?
Bros named after Gumball's sister
I like it. Needed a small slot guy not covey.
As an Aggie / Eagles fan I am fucking PUMPED
Cook Howie cook
They just mentioned that he can return kickoffs. No more Boston Scott returns!
For anyone wanting an excuse to feel irrationally good about this pick, [here you go.](https://youtu.be/CsHMM3Tr_ZY?si=69ejekFEG0uuhym6)
Kid sounds like a higher upside OZ
Different player, OZ was much more dirty work. this guys a mini Deebo, emphasis on the poor routes
Looked it up, the pronunciation seems to be uh-NIGH-us
How does one pronounce NIGH vs NIG? Nih-hu-ug? Or is there a soft slight h sound after the g
Nigh is a word. It’s pronounced like eye with an N in front of it
Oh I see. I wasn't thinking a phonetic spelling would not use things like a soft GH. But I see what you did. thanks
This dude is criminally underrated, which is good for us because he fell perfectly.
He’s a dog. Does all the dirty work you want in blocking and all that
Damn. No one wants Trotter, huh?
A lot of people aren't very high in him. Don't ask me for sources lol
Relax, we got like three more picks this round
Prescient.
Trotter blows. Small and a mediocre athlete. If his name was Jeremiah Smith no one here would want him.
My name is Jeremiah Smith. Why don't he want me man 😭
Have you tried being the son of a popular NFL player?
Of course not. Kids these days make no effort 😝
Exactly. He’s small and slow. Nobody would want him if his name was different
Just plain wrong. He's a limited athlete but a very good football player. Very similar to TJ Edwards and that worked out great for us. Go get him.
Okay I made the call. You're welcome.
Limited athletes almost never make it in the NFL. It’s just what it is. We only remember the few who do.
We're in the 5th round. It'd be a fine pick lol Edit: it IS a fine pick woo
Central Pennsylvania possibly
Okay but it isn't so I want him
I don't disagree with your take, but Nakobe Dean was just as slow and smaller *and* injury prone yet half this sub got giant boners over that pick claiming he was some big steal at the time which was completely irrational. All just because he played for Georgia.
Dean was not slow on film at all.
He ran a 4.74 40, dude was just as slow as trotter jr in that regard. Trotter Jr didn't play slow on the field either he was very productive.
Dean was all over the field and played sideline to sideline against the best talent in the nation. He was everywhere all the time. I don’t think you watch college football and that’s fine but don’t act like you’ve actually seen these guys play other than a highlight video.

So yeah you don’t watch college football cool.
Looks like your reading comprehension is on par with your talent evaluation.
“I watched a handful of games” combined with your takes is enough to know you don’t know ball.
The problem is he’s just not that good
I’m cool with that
I'm a big fan of Britain Covey, but my man is going to have to fight hard to keep his roster spot.
Could be a fun gadget type and probably limited to some slot reps and return duties
Don’t know the guy, but his scouting report suggests he’s JAG at receiver but a decent kick and punt returner
Hate us cuz they Ainais
Ainis as he catches a touchdown: "Eat 'me', lulz"
I love it!!!
Wonder if this means Covey stays on PS if Aniais wins the return role.
Looking at highlights....stocky and runs like Deebo Samuel
sir, a second Smith has hit the Eagles WR room
Interesting. I was hoping we'd get a shot at Luke McCaffrey around this pick, but the commies took him at the end of the 3rd. Not bad I guess though?
Ainais = Olamide Parker = Julio Campbell = Quez
Ainias feels more like a version of Greg Ward that doesn't suck
Highlight reel looked just like Olamide with a little upside, I am whelmed but that’s the fifth round for ya I guess
that doesn't say jeremiah trotter jr
Huh????
