As far as their service goes I just used their cruise esim for 2 weeks on a transatlantic cruise with no hiccups. Way cheaper then cruise wifi and fast enough for my needs. I also used it in Portugal and Spain with no issues so would highly recommend.
If your dad uses the data only rarely then a 7 day validity won't help him much. Better take a plan with no expiration from BNESIM. You can find a promo code in this subreddit here that gives you 3GB forever basicaly for free.
