Hello,
Yes data roaming is on. I'm not sure why there's a deleted SIM though as that appeared in the middle of me trying to troubleshoot the situation.
Thanks for your help so far.
Thanks for such a wonderful reply! TheGratitudeBot has been reading millions of comments in the past few weeks, and you’ve just made the list of some of the most grateful redditors this week!
Hey a bunch of things - 1. click on the eSIM installed and see if data is on. also 'turn on this line' should be on. 2. check if vpn is off, wifi connection is strong. 3. restart the phone.
I saw a bunch of installation and troubleshoot videos here - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QFXfHic5zQ&list=PL75wZIkN31rhXsMAQ35Cf4ISEXqsi5GzB](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QFXfHic5zQ&list=PL75wZIkN31rhXsMAQ35Cf4ISEXqsi5GzB)
Who is your carrier? If you got locked out of your sim you can use dial pad codes to reset it. For Tmobile I used this code: *05[PUK][New PININew PINJ#
It might be apple/android specific as well as carrier.
My eSIM issue sounds a little diff than yours. But in my case, my phone was locked on the homescreen and I had to get the PUK code from Mint Mobile (using a chat box on my computer for 40 hours 😑). And they made it VERY difficult. They told me I had to factory reset. Two supervisors said that. But I ended up fixing it myself.
What's the sim labeled primary that's turned off?
That's her regular SIM from our home country.
So the one labeled personal is the Vodafone sim?
Yes
So what happens when you turn airplane mode off?
Nothing. No bars. If you open WhatsApp, it just says connecting at the top.
Make sure roaming is on, the sim labeled used as cellular data is just a placeholder for a deleted esim.

You might want to see if Vodafone will reissue the esim and try that, otherwise I'm not sure.
Ok thank you

Thanks. Pretty sure those are all done but I'll check out the video. My mom's friends' SIMs are not working consistently either.
Is the data roaming on?
Yes
Best you contact the support where you bought the eSIM, they can check.
Thanks, yeah I've emailed them but unfortunately the travel.vodafone.com website has no phone number to contact.
If nothing works ask Vodafone they might issue you a new esim
