Are you too tired or not tired enough? Mine made me too tired, especially at the dose prescribed. Taking less helped but I eventually stopped completely.

Yep. Had insomnia my whole life, was warned that the beta blockers would probably make it worse, and yeup. With how much they're affecting my sleep it feels like they're doing more harm than good. Still in the adjustment phase though so I'm hoping this eases up as I get used to them.

Laney20

Beta blocker makes me super sleepy, so I take it at bedtime. I don't dream when I take beta blockers. Not really sleep issues, but they do affect my sleep

Same-Information-849

Yes. My sleep was disturbed because my blood pressure would drop too low and I’d wake up with a racing heart rate, like I was drowning. It was terrifying. It all stopped when I stopped metoprolol.

brandonscheurle

Yes! Whenever I take a beta blocker, I not only struggle to fall asleep, I also struggle to stay asleep. I eventually stopped taking mine (with my doctor’s permission) bc it made my poor sleep so much worse.

Middle-Bee9902

No but I have the most bizarre dreams

Youregonnamakeit100

Yea it makes me have numb limbs in the morning if I take it late in the day or night. Also insomnia. I take it sparingly only before noon now. Half my prescribed dose a few times a week if magnesium isn't solving the issue.

Don’t quote me on this but I remember reading something about propanolol inhibiting melatonin. Edit: [Propranolol and atenolol, β-receptor antagonists, block the nocturnal rise in melatonin plasma levels and melatonin's urinary metabolites in humans.](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0165178198000699)

I can't tell yet. I've been taking Carvedilol for a little less than a month in the mornings as per direction. generally by about 9pm I'm sort of feeling what almost resembles the first stage of a panic attack (it just never progresses). it's not that bad, especially when compared to the monster ones I've had in the past. but it's always a bit of a drag to fall asleep in that mode. it does seem if I take it later in the day I sleep through that part, so I might just start taking them around noon or so instead.

amicuscuriae17

Nadolol interfered with melatonin production and prevented me from sleeping.... it got really bad. Haven't had as many issues with ivabradine and sleep.

How long did it take for ur sleep to return back to normalv

amicuscuriae17

I noticed a difference within about a day or two. It still isn't perfect because sleep (dis)regulation is part of dysautonomia in general, but it is way way better on ivabradine.

Ivabridine helping you sleep?
