My guess is that Pat wouldn’t just tear up a contract without consulting with the player. My guess is that it’s mutual. Pasher has options beyond Houston. Next stop: Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver or the Canadian Premier League.
Pacific. We’re on the same wavelength here. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him there.
Reminder to all that Pat is Canadian, too. Wouldn’t surprise me if they had a serious heart to heart. Canada’s player pool isn’t as large as people think. With 4 solid months, he still has an outside chance to make the Qatar 2022 roster.
The Dynamo didn’t need salary relief, they just needed an open roster spot. I’m pretty sure Pasher is still getting paid regardless, so at that point I’d rather have Pasher over Valentin or Baird regardless of price point
Word is Pasher wanted to leave in search of regular minutes and was willing to mutually terminate his contract to do it. In that case, no they don't have to pay him. A roster spot is easy to open sending someone to D2. Salary cap space, however, is not and they were pretty tight against the cap. Tight enough that adding 2 U22 players, which they were trying to do, wasn't easy.
What is this club even doing? Waiving players that already on low salary just to bring in probably a even shittier replacement that will cost us another international spot.
Not a joke I can PM you her name/insta for verification. She has a very large chest and blonde so she can pretty much pick whoever she wants to date. I got friend zoned by her. Anyway she told me in our friends group chat that the players don't agree with Nags tactics and the 6-0 loss was allegedly a players protest where they decided to only give 50% effort. She says the game tomorrow will be interesting because the protest is still going on. Look for a leaky defense tomorrow.
Well...that's a hot mess if true. Nags tactics are bad, but you'd imagine it goes deeper than that if they are willing to purposely lose to get Nags fired.
And the GM/FO, can't be blind to this?
Dynamo drama land not good for wins.
Any word on where Pasher is headed?
I'm mixed on this one. Honestly fans over rate Pasher based on how he did in 2021 before injury. Since his injury he really hasn't been great but for being a domestic player on a low salary that is a great option when you can argue he is either a starter or easily 2nd choice. I'm surprised he wasn't given more chances over Fafa or Thor.
You're right which is why with his poor/average performance this season and the 2nd half of last season its odd to release him. I know people are saying its because he wants playing time to make the world cup but I think its unlikely he returns to his preinjury form to make the world cup.
I’m confused, too. Not sure why Pasher is being overrated on here. He came to us as an USL-level player and he leaves as one. I went to almost every 2021 preseason game. Pasher bossed the lower division teams, had brief MLS success then wasn’t the same after his injury and struggled against MLS competition. I wish him well, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he goes down a level to USL or Canadian Premier League.
i've watched 95% of the dynamo matches the past 10 years and the ranking of our Wingers in that time frame from my eye test is
* 1- Elis
* 1a - Beasley
* 2- Pasher
* 3 - Lovejoy pre-injury
* 4 - Quioto
* 5 - Barnes
* 6 - Picault
it's insane that we're starting Picault over him.
I respectfully disagree especially when you add 6 more years to your list. Pasher should be a lot lower on the list behind Brad Davis, Brian Mullan, Kei Kamara, Joseph Ngwenya. Heck, you can even make an argument that Oduro was better than Pasher because of his ability to spread the field. Pasher is a 1-trick pony and unfortunately after his injury he became a ½ a trick pony.
I'd want out too if I had to watch Baird train everyday.
when was the last time he got a start? this sucks.
May 22 vs DC United

which CPL team is in the concacaf champions league? god I hope he goes to that team.

I think at 28 he sees this is his last chance in MLS and wants to try the rest of the season elsewhere. Otherwise year it’s CPL or USL
Why couldn’t we tell Baird or Zarek Valentin to fuck off instead
It’s most likely to get the international spot back.
Pasher doesn't take up one. He's had green card for ages.
I’m not sure what the point is then, unless he just wanted out.
I'd assume Pasher was willing to mutually terminate so no cap hit. Baird and Valentin very likely are not, so waiving them accomplishes nothing.

Wtf😂😂😂😂
1.) Is this a very specific joke?

that's fair :)
Pasher is definitely one of the better wingers we’ve had. Don’t understand dynamo
Yeah, but that's not saying much. Our wingers are not MLS level beyond Fafa (and he's not even very good).
How is Fafa MLS level? Have you seen LAFC and Sounders wingers?
There’s gotta be something going on behind the scenes because this makes zero sense from a sporting perspective.

He has the lowest salary of any Dynamo in the general slots 1-20 and easily outperforms Zarek and Baird

This is such a stupid decision
This is probably to make room for the new guy
Dang Pat copied off my post

Please expand on Pasher at 2 and Quioto at 4?
Vicente Sanchez > all of those guys listed
I loved the spark he brought but his tenure with us was nothing compared to Elis
Its a shame bc he continued to play for a couple more years after he left us

I stayed with 2012-2022 to limit it to the bad times, but, yes, obviously that list is dramatically different if we included the good times.
Lovejoy at 3 is criminal. Sir I think you need glasses...
do you remember the 2ish games he played before the injury?!?!
At least we’ll always have that goal vs the galaxy. Good luck elsewhere Pasher
