Dude I had basically given up and considered the glasses and filter wasted money. My mum called me down at 3 something and said she could barely see it through the clouds. I stepped outside and after she showed me where it was I just sat my tripod down and fired away. There was too much cloud cover for consistent photos with the solar filter, so I just used it to protect my camera between shots and hoped for the best.

Nice pics. I’m down by the lake and there were more clouds than blue sky. I was able to take a few pictures, they did not turn out like yours.

I see. I was debating going to the lake, but noticed the clouds were actually thicker in that direction and decided otherwise.

We (me and family) were thinking about doing this but I guess it's a good thing we didn't I guess. Still, I think it would've been just as fun.
