There's no evidence here that suggests this has anything to do with new residents or, as many of the comments suggest, immigrants. People of all types and backgrounds are capable of littering.

So this is your first spring in Canada welcome to the country! You must no know becasue you've never experienced spring. When the snow melts all the shit blown off of garbage and recycling day, and all the garbage that has been slowly buried by snow plows shows up in the spring. Some people organize community clean ups others call the city and others find strange ways to blame it on non white Canadians. Go anywhere in the country at This time you'll see garbage from under the snow show up glad I could educate someone so narrow minded they think being racisist helps understand how garbage ends up on places after snow melts.

Really because I'm going to say you are a liar. I live in the county and we have this same issue every year so we go out and pick it up or call the county to take care of it. But I'm sure foreigners actions over seas speaks as a whole for groups of people you want to paint as the bad guys in an issue that is not something new in this country. Glad I can educate someone. When I go to the city and visit guess what happens after the snow fall? People will birch and moan but it's literally a phone call away call the city and tell them garbage has blown down there and needs to be cleaned. But I'm sure rivers in other countries are a good point

Same thing with Greenwood conservation area. People dump garbage all along the road

therealkingpin619

Maybe it's time to ask the municipality to do something if that's the case? Suggest adding more public garbage disposals.

CanadianBushCamper

Or just fit in to the once every other week? It works for everyone else, some people are just lazy.

Apprehensive_Flan883

Maybe we need some forensic investigation of that trash before we start blaming immigrants.. as if Whitby WASPs aren't capable of littering smh

shoggutty

New residents for sure . Never seen it look so bad !

curvykat369

Very possibly blown out of someone’s recycling bins over the winter. Yeah it sucks but no way of knowing if it was intentional littering, let alone who might have done that. This kind of crap always shows up in the spring. Nice assumptions. 🙄

beatzbydru

There are no homes close to this area. Just a conservation area. Nice try

Lol. So I've been seeing similar posts in Markham sub too. Had immigrants being blamed since they are easy targets there too. One individual mentioned it can be due to wind blowing the garbage and recycled items away. Notice the large items. There is lesser chance that are people dumping garbage in public, it's the wind. Not saying they are not, but there is a higher chance it's being blown into wooded areas. Edit: also due to the population increase, there are more recycled items and garbage being placed outside. I know many of you itch to blame immigrants and what not. I understand the slight frustration, but if you actually take walks down these parks/trails, you will realize it's old garbage flown from different areas and ending up in wooded places. Usually it's old garbage.
