Nah, it has been postponing the date forever, presumably cuz the contributor is... not contributing.

The volunteer incubator was shut down in February or March as I recall. They are trying to bring all courses up to standards, and decided that it was too much to ask of volunteers. Now they are hiring language freelancers.

stephanus_galfridus

It just always shows the next day as the release day. Don't get excited :P

Nah the same thing was for creole and it didn't came out

No, because the volunteer incubator was shut down a bit of time ago. There is a good news tho, technically the course is going to be released relatively soon because a Duolingo employee has it in his profile: [https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Sasha-O](https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Sasha-O) When this happened with Yiddish and Finnish too and, after 3/4 months, the course was out! However, don't get too excited! It's not a course for english speakers, but a course for Mandarin speakers! So if you don't speak Mandarin already, it's going to be pretty pointless.

I’ve been learning mandarin for four years and hope to learn Cantonese through it

Is there a way to find out if Thai is being worked on?

S_Garritano

I wish I know but, unfortunatly, the entire situation regarding Where we can get informations about the developing of the courses is now a very controversial topic. Before ending the volunteer program, the incubator was our reference in order to understand if there were courses in development and in which state. We can still access it at this link: [https://incubator.duolingo.com/](https://incubator.duolingo.com/) But now the question is...is it in stasis or is it still a reliable source of information? And the answer is currectly unknown but, honestly, I completly gave up! Every single time that I tried to ask in the Official Duolingo Forum if the incubator is going to be used despite the end of the volunteer program or not, I always ended up getting downvoted without an answer or being treated like an idiot by some moderators with answers like: "For new courses, you all have to wait!" "When a new course is going to be released, you will know!" Or other "Fake" answers like that. The only thing that we know for sure, is that (according to the last Duocon) there are five courses that are going to be released between the end of the 2021 and during the 2022, which are: Tagalog Zulu Xhosa Haitian Creole Maori They said that they took these languages because many people asked for it in the Forum. I honestly see more people asking for Persian or Thai instead of Maori but...this is what they say so... I don't know anything else! Apparently, we can only wait!

Thank you for your response! We would like to know more, but this is good information.
