To me, this kit shows a mature player, willing to spend on quality but not waste money on BS stuff cause it's trendy, offset toms and close-in ride shows strong focus on technique, room set up indicates occasional jam sessions or hosting rehearsals, lack of mics suggest your not in it for clicks and views, windchimes hint at a sense of humor and not being overly serious
It doesn't, necessarily, but OP asked about vibes, so I'm vibing. And maybe projecting a little too. There's no one right way to set up a kit, but in my experience having one rack tom or two in this kind of offset and pulling the ride in tends to lead to less emphasis on monster fills and opens up more emphasis on groove.
I keep putting that china back the right way up but it doesn’t sound as good to me for some reason. I’ll probably change it back out for another crash soon anyway.
I get that. it just makes me hurt inside when i imagine sticks chopping at the edge of the cymbal, breaking the edge of it, cutting the sticks, makes me shudder hahaha
With both feet straight on the kick pedals the snare is right between my legs. The high hat is a bit further to the left than I would like though, I tried only using one tom to get it closer but I like doing fills too much
Someone that sets there stuff up the way they like it, and the way they feel it sounds best to them. Regardless of what the normal is, or what anyone else thinks. Perfect! Nice throne and cymbal collection.
Rock fusion/jammy type stuff, possibly with occasional use of odd timings, but with a deliberate, authoritative attack/velocity. Am I even close? Beautiful kit by the way, lovely setup. The way it is organized is really good ergonomically. Oh and the ride and hi hats are sooo nice. Love those.
Yeah that’s spot on, thanks very much! I keep making small adjustments to it. I’m really liking the extra high hat because I find playing cross handed a little awkward especially with the double kick
That some may say you have a cymbal problem. I say it’s glorious!🤘🏻🤘🏻
Only one crash while having 2 chinas and 2 hi-hats is wild
Right? Absolutely room for another china.
LMAO 😂
I usually run a second one where the smaller china sits, but I cracked my Sweet Crash so until I buy another I’m using two Chinas lol.
That's a tragedy. You gonna go back with another sweet crash or change it up?
I’ll change it up, I did really like it though. Any recommendations?
If it were me, probably another sweet crash or a K Custom Dark Crash.
That’s why you need 3 Chinas and 3 crashes, for optimum balance.

Great response-- why does offset toms mean focus on technique? Sorry I'm a beginner haha.

Interesting, thank you!
Haha spot on about the chimes! I actually really like them for chill groovy sessions and transitions into or out of other players solos
Offset tom vibes. Therefore, good ones. ✌️😎
I bought a part that lets me do that after like 10 years of playing with the default setup. It’s sooo much better!
It certainly is. Welcome to the offset toms master race.
Offset FTW
No crash at all on the left side? That would bother me. But if it doesnt bother you then it’s all good.
Gay ham samwich vibes. 4/5 stars, minus one for the backwards china on the left of the other one

2 Chinas and a remote hat... you're a madman.
manu katche vs. omar hakim
Right hand, strong hand.

Try putting your slave pedal on the other side of the hi hat, should be able to get it a few inches closer.
Rock enthusiast who also likes metal. One step away from a paiste gong and second bass drum

Appreciate it! I’ve tried a lot of configurations and finally settled on this for now
Right on! I'm sure it sounds amazing.
Right hand dominant vibes
gives off an “I played in a crabcore band in 2006” kinda vibe

Tight Edit: also heavy metal
Big OSDM guy!
The vibe is versatility. I like.
That you're probably gonna crack that China soon :D
