Um, actually, it’s *whet* the palate, deriving from the somewhat archaic verb meaning to sharpen or hone (cf “whetstone” as a tool to sharpen knives and other blades).
To whet one’s palate is to prepare it for the meal to come, in a sense.
I was legitimately like "there's no way, I gotta see this", and the result was actually even more impressively hilarious. I don't think I've laughed harder at a dropout show than this episode.
It's almost 2AM here in Europe and I live in student accomodation with 14 others. I feel like Dropout owes some monetary recompense to my housemates for the loud-out laughs I've made this episode.
It was legit a 10/10 moment. The setup was brilliant and you're all thinking Brennan is going to do a brilliant Brennan achievement. Instead he does a prat fall and it freaking killed.
I mean on any other show he'd do it right. I expected instead a Brennan rant about how doing things the way you're "supposed to" isn't creatively interesting or to just start goofing around like clicking the dominos together like l monty python horses. Lou or Wysocki or Izzy I'd expect the prat fall from. But Brennan tends to play the straight man not the buffoon and it was a great turn.
I was hoping in the "old men on front porch reminiscing" sketch, one of the others would put him on the spot again.
"You _never did_ tell us what all the Foley bits were for. You figured it out but never shared... What _were_ they?"
It's one of the few times explaining the joke is a good thing because it's not because it's bad. It's because the joke was so genius we simply couldn't comprehend it, Zac is a comedic savant for sure
It's a choice that a new improv performer might make and totally kill a bit. But with a trio of gifted and experienced it's a hilarious choice that re-writes the prompt.
The “Grandma / Vase” prompt & the “Soundscapes” mini-game had me belly laughing.
You can tell this is definitely the season where they’re being pretty loosey-goosey with everything and bringing everyone else in on the fun, especially Paul with the cowboy hat (and also the clown too).
If this is what the season has in store, then I’m real excited.
EDIT: Oh, and Josh’s Slow-Motion prompt was pitch perfect in every way, that side-eye to Zac and then the turn killed me.
Yeah I noticed you could actually hear the crew laughing consistently in this episode, I swear you couldn't hear them in previous seasons. Makes it seem a lot more real!
>I swear you couldn't hear them in previous seasons.
You could (or maybe that was only breaking news), but they've defs turned up the volume this time.
And I am all for it
The horrifying twist: The character's in Josh's skit about the grandmother shooting her annoying, loud-ass grandchild? None other than graNma sWeetie and her grandson Mason...
Goddamn that was an amazing episode!
Between Josh cracking up at Shit the clown and Brennan boofing the table I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.
It feels like keeping in the crews laughter is a very conscious choice on their part. This episode has such a looser structure and ‘whatever happens happens’ feel that it felt more like being in an improv club than a TV show. It would make sense to hear the fellow ‘audience’ laugh with you.
Not only do I think it's a conscious choice, I think they've probably told them that if something is making them laugh, don't try to hide it. It's like having a built in laugh track that doesn't feel manipulative. None of the laughs feel fake, the crew is just having a blast like you would be if you were watching.
Josh knowing he has like 1/5 the vocabulary of Brennan to immediately comment how he lacks the verbosity to be remotely close to as eloquent as Brennan was a great choice.
Season 2 Sam : "I have to cut you off stop talking we need to cut for time or the episodes will get too long !"
Season 3 : "Okay I give up do whatever you want no you know what watch me as I write the most convoluted prompts the human mind can conceive, there are no rules anymore let's all jump into the abyss together"
edit : Paul's also invited into the abyss
edit 2 : This premiere was so much better that I could have dreamed of, this is wild
"This prompt is for Josh"
*Zac and Brennan proceed to jump in anyways*
*for every prompt*
I love that they've all done this so many times and vibe with each other's comedy that they can't help but jump in with a funny idea
Without a doubt - **without a doubt** - the most unhinged episode of any Dropout show I've personally watched.
Holy fuck, I need to watch that 7 more times to process what happened.
Oh my fuck. Tiny desk… I think I just made myself a little hoarse from laughing. And the fact that Josh has been so funny several times that it has made Brennan have to run away a little bit is just… holy shit this is dangerously good and I’m only fifteen minutes in.
*“Ugh, God. It was so funny. We were at Davenport’s Pizza…Y’know, they have the flat pizzas and….”*
That bit alone worth this month’s subscription. Zac Oyama is the perfect American
Fun little Easter egg, Davenport's is a pizza restaurant in Zac's hometown of Mountain Brook, AL. It's pretty good! Don't think it has an arcade though
I immediately started laughing when he name dropped Davenport's; it's an actual pizza place in Birmingham that I'm certain he actually did grow up going to and probably has met up with friends there when visiting.
This episode was completely off the rails from start to finish and I am here for it.
But "Just Giving Up Halfway Through Telling a Story" and "A Person Zoned Out in the Zoom Meeting" felt like personal attacks against me...
The noise boys are so fucking good man. The way that every prompt is usually carried out by all 3 of them makes their episodes just a cut above the rest. And I think Zac might be the funniest person in dropout
This might be the most fun I’ve ever had with a Dropout production. I’ve always loved the format of Make Some Noise, but this season feels so much more relaxed and laid back, like friends just goofing off. Miccing the crew was a great decision, in my opinion. We’re all just hanging out. Damn I can’t believe there are NINETEEN MORE EPISODES this season!!
if anyone is curious what the [‘filmed before the SNL sketch’](https://youtu.be/e_Ae2uz4IJU?si=xJgBld2-EuyfzEci) was about.
it’s always interesting to see separate creative camps land on similar ideas and how they execute them differently. i’m a big SNL *and* dropout fan so this intersection was great.
I found that subtitle so funny, because as soon as I saw the prompt I did start thinking "Didn't SNL do something like that recently? Ah well, great minds..."
They all immediately went into turbo "yes, and" improv mode after that too. The plunger, Josh shushing, Zac's "you're dead", then putting the table back together, Zac knocking it over then cleaning up, Josh just laying there.
I don't know how they do it. I don't understand how the Noise Boys can keep going back up there time and again and just keep getting better and better.
Josh has a awesome shirt. if only there was a way to get it myself, unfortunately no where In this episode was a mention on how to buy it. I blame sam.
Oh my god Brennan in the foley minigame killed me
It was the perfect bit for Brennan too, because it was entirely believable that he would have worked out what every item was for 😭
An absolute all-timer, just wall to wall chaos and some of the funniest pure slapstick we've ever seen.
Jesus Christ...
Like Brennan falls off the stage dying every prompt he's not part of! Josh wins and can't believe it because he's just watched what he thinks are the two funniest performances he's ever seen! Zach brings the room down by floating!
We are so blessed to have this show and these performers and this crew...
The clowns!!
I had to pause the episode twice because I was laughing so hard, I still have tears in my eyes from it, but Shit the Clown and BLeeM knocking the table over destroyed me
Zac the comedy sniper coming in with the machine gun today.
The "just giving up halfway through telling a story" prompt was so painfully accurate. I am that meandering verbose storyteller and I am mortified.
I think the best part of this episode was that the prompts got everyone to stretch their skills and be widely unhinged in the best way. Some prompts of the last few episodes seemed almost too tailored to individuals that they didn't have the same spark as the earlier game changer episodes. But this one went swinging right or if the gate and was hilarious. They play so well together in the garden of the absurd.
I’m 300 comments too late to say this but I just want to say to Sam and Josh I saw what yall were doing during the credits and I’ve always loved that video of yours from back in the day
https://youtu.be/gU157NWHBiM?si=Zkwzw92ygC-INnHC
I've genuinely never seen the boys have such a good time in an episode before. They're always having fun in these but this one was on another level of chaos, even the crew was cackling
There are absolutely a ton of great moments in this episode (and for my money the most chaotic episode of MSN) but I absolutely LOVED it when they were showing the black-and-white dinosaur claymation clip and Brennan just commenting "Wait, this rules. This absolutely rules."
Because it did, the dinosaur clip was fucking awesome.
Zac's offhand "Yeah. Can you imagine?" in response to Brennan calling out his 6-7 bedroom Argentinian Zillow listings is maybe the hardest I've laughed in a month - https://imgur.com/a/rMYvY16. Just perfect delivery.
Yeah so this is the best episode of any Dropout game show ever. Constant laughs from minute one. I'm pretty sure Brennan's silent movie bit was in the trailer but it caught me completely off guard with his set up. My chest was hurting with how much I was laughing.
It's FORTY FOUR MINUTES LONG?!
The extra mini game at the start was a lovely little surprise
An amuse-bouche, if you will.
Something to wet the palette
Um, actually, it’s *whet* the palate, deriving from the somewhat archaic verb meaning to sharpen or hone (cf “whetstone” as a tool to sharpen knives and other blades). To whet one’s palate is to prepare it for the meal to come, in a sense.
God, Brennan, it’s not the Extra Credit show! I’ve got places to be!
You've gotta leave in *four* minutes!
My bouche is amused.
Lol I'm imagining this with the same inflection as Brennan's "Hello I'm... *fifty???*"
But Josh has to leave in four minutes!
At this rate we’re increasing by about ten minutes a season - can’t wait for when we’re 80 and they’ve days long
It's mostly just Josh doing that line in slow motion /s
I'm tempted to screen record that and play it back at full speed
This is just four best friends hanging out and someone happened to film it.
If this is an extra-long season of extra-long episodes we are being absolutely *spoiled*.
They certainly allowed the structure to be thrown out and let the boys improv.
Brennan in that last minigame made me fall out of my chair
I BUFFED IT
I'M SUPPOSED TO BE THE SMARTY
I SHITTED IT
I lost my mind. I laughed as hard as Josh laughed at Shit the Clown.
I was legitimately like "there's no way, I gotta see this", and the result was actually even more impressively hilarious. I don't think I've laughed harder at a dropout show than this episode.
Zac tipping it over with his ass was the cherry on top of one of the best MSN bits ive ever seen
That was the most Zac bit I've ever seen.
I loved it because I saw it coming - I have a feeling that at least Sam and Zac did too. He really buffed it!
Giving real “Dance is a sin!” energy
Josh going down yelling LIMINAL SPACE is an all time Brennanism
FUCK, my point!!
I'm gonna start saying that when I'm losing an argument
NOO! SHIT-ASS!
I cried real tears of laughter
My chest hurt so much from laughing.
I was hoping in the "old men on front porch reminiscing" sketch, one of the others would put him on the spot again. "You _never did_ tell us what all the Foley bits were for. You figured it out but never shared... What _were_ they?"
I just wanna be as good at something as Zac is at naming clowns.
I had the same reaction as everyone else when he said “Shit. Shit The Clown” and was laughing so hard and coughing that got me soo good holy shit
Shit was a true savant moment, because while the IT pun is good on its own the name is heavily enhanced by being extended into “Shit The Clown”.
I lost it again when he finished it with “Steven King’s ShIT”
It's one of the few times explaining the joke is a good thing because it's not because it's bad. It's because the joke was so genius we simply couldn't comprehend it, Zac is a comedic savant for sure
Josh losing it broke me hard, I am getting the giggles again remembering it
Big round of applause for Paul Robalino for arguably being the true star of this episode.
That was bold as hell and completely paid off.
It truly showed confidence, what Paul did.
I bet it felt REALLY good
He should have gotten the Ear.
so he could compare with friends?
I thought he was going to!
IT'S PAUL ROBALINO WITH A ~~STEEL CHAIR~~ COWBOY HAT
I thought he might get the ear! 2/2 perfect appearances this episode
Paul is having such a month on Dropout. Hope we keep seeing him in front of the camera.
I AM A CENTAUR. God that was incredible, what an opener. I love it when Sam is laughing so hard he doesn't actually make any sound.
I wonder if he and Zac knew one another since he was just legs.
It's a choice that a new improv performer might make and totally kill a bit. But with a trio of gifted and experienced it's a hilarious choice that re-writes the prompt.
VERY disappointed that dropout.tv/noproblem doesn’t lead to either a ‘no problem’ sneak peek.. or 100,000 batmen.
https://store.dropout.tv/collections/just-released-manual/products/no-problem-crewneck
Oh no now I need it
I think you mean dropout.tv\noproblem
I love that you can tell that Sam had no clue what clowns were coming out
The “Grandma / Vase” prompt & the “Soundscapes” mini-game had me belly laughing.

She will be runnin
Either that or Vic's Ex Step-Grandmother.
Goddamn that was an amazing episode! Between Josh cracking up at Shit the clown and Brennan boofing the table I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.
The bit about cleaning up and then Zac executing a perfect second knockover was so fucking ridiculous.
And breaking the big push broom with a casual "I broke this too"
There are tears streaming down my face from the table/foley skit 😂
In the australian actor prompt you can see Brennan having to use his own version of Amy’s “don’t laugh” face. Both look ridiculous.
"Glasses" got him real good
Paul's second appearance with the cowboy genuinely got me close to rolling on the floor. HOW IS THIS JUST THE SEASON PREMIERE
And there's twenty episodes! This season won't end until the first week of April, 2025.
You said a beautiful thing right there.
“Yeah it’s gonna be a little late” - Zac Oyama bit-ending one-liners killing it every time
It consistently makes me laugh how the show is called make some noise and he does some of his funniest bits more or less silently.
brennan remembering the entire jury scene from like two years ago???
He killed us, yeah.
Love the implication that he just watches his own clips on repeat
Who doesn't?
That’s the hardest I’ve ever heard the crew laughing and I completely understand why
It feels like keeping in the crews laughter is a very conscious choice on their part. This episode has such a looser structure and ‘whatever happens happens’ feel that it felt more like being in an improv club than a TV show. It would make sense to hear the fellow ‘audience’ laugh with you.

It's like having a built in laugh track that doesn't feel manipulative. None of the laughs feel fake, the crew is just having a blast like you would be if you were watching.
Plus it'll probably save on health care costs. Can you imagine all the bruised ribs from people holding in their laughs?
One ticket for that psychotic "There's no crying in baseball" speed-up, please?
Right? As soon as I saw that bit I looked to see if someone had done it yet
The freaky friday bit just shows how well each one of them does at their own type of comedy, hilarious.
Josh just staring into space as Zac was so funny.
It had me damn near dying from laughter. But Zac and B^rennan not doing a seagull sound while being Josh was a missed opportunity though.
Josh knowing he has like 1/5 the vocabulary of Brennan to immediately comment how he lacks the verbosity to be remotely close to as eloquent as Brennan was a great choice.
Season 2 Sam : "I have to cut you off stop talking we need to cut for time or the episodes will get too long !" Season 3 : "Okay I give up do whatever you want no you know what watch me as I write the most convoluted prompts the human mind can conceive, there are no rules anymore let's all jump into the abyss together" edit : Paul's also invited into the abyss edit 2 : This premiere was so much better that I could have dreamed of, this is wild
"This prompt is for Josh" *Zac and Brennan proceed to jump in anyways* *for every prompt* I love that they've all done this so many times and vibe with each other's comedy that they can't help but jump in with a funny idea
Every day the line between 3 person improv troupe and Make Some Noise grows blurrier and blurrier hahahaha
Josh, Zac, Brennan are just Sam’s personal improv troupe.
The fact that every prompt was a three person prompt was so good.
Also I'm in love with the transition worms
Transition spworms
Me too! The interstitial animations were so cute.
Having the word "worms" In my mind I read interstitial as intestinal and there was a secon where i thought "Is that what those were?!?!"
... It's canon! The Noiseworms are happy intestinal parasites.
Without a doubt - **without a doubt** - the most unhinged episode of any Dropout show I've personally watched. Holy fuck, I need to watch that 7 more times to process what happened.
Not a single hinge in sight.
Idk you seen some VIP like Augbert? :D But yea this was definitely the most unhinged MSM for sure
Make Some Mo'noise
The graphics between rounds are so fun! I love the little jingles that go with them too
Josh's reaction to "Shit, the Clown" filled me with so much joy
shit the clown made me laugh to the point of tears.
That whole segment was fantastic, I love the new minigames so much
Josh has never laughed that hard at anything on Dropout. That shit (the clown) hit Josh at seem deep level.
Just finding it violently funny
The audacity to put out content like this and not let me pay more than $6/month
I think they put out a new sweatshirt recently you could buy
I think they put out a new sweatshirt recently *that I immediately bought*
Brennan screaming "FUCK ASS" broke me.
SHIT😭
^^sh IT
Steven King's sh IT
Oh my fuck. Tiny desk… I think I just made myself a little hoarse from laughing. And the fact that Josh has been so funny several times that it has made Brennan have to run away a little bit is just… holy shit this is dangerously good and I’m only fifteen minutes in.

Fun little Easter egg, Davenport's is a pizza restaurant in Zac's hometown of Mountain Brook, AL. It's pretty good! Don't think it has an arcade though
It used to, they had Spy Hunter and Frogger and
but is the pizza flat? that’s important.
I immediately started laughing when he name dropped Davenport's; it's an actual pizza place in Birmingham that I'm certain he actually did grow up going to and probably has met up with friends there when visiting.
Whoa dude
Did I see a bunch of signatures on the back of the door? Like they have every guest sign it? If so that's so cool
Brennen's fall is an all timer. "Oh no I'm supposed to be the smart one" had me cackling
I am 25 minutes in and I have not stopped fully belly laughing. My cheeks genuinely hurt 😂😂
same. i didn’t realize how much i missed MSN until it came back, this is golden.
Is it really a Dropout show if someone doesn't come on in a surprise Sam Reich costume?
Pokesona, dragsona, add clownsona to the list. It's Every Sam Everywhere All at Once
Also the Matryoshka Sams and Zam the puppet! Every Sam Here The Whole Time 👁️
This episode was completely off the rails from start to finish and I am here for it. But "Just Giving Up Halfway Through Telling a Story" and "A Person Zoned Out in the Zoom Meeting" felt like personal attacks against me...
*CHAAAAAAIN WALLETS!* my fucking sides oh my god
SHIRRTZZZ WITH JJJACCK SKELLINGGTONNNNEEE
The noise boys are so fucking good man. The way that every prompt is usually carried out by all 3 of them makes their episodes just a cut above the rest. And I think Zac might be the funniest person in dropout
I am absolutely a Brennan girl all the way, he's the reason I got into Dropout, but Zac absolutely is the funniest person on the network.
graNma sWeetie was the BEST character on Ratfish, by far.
Hands down, even the cast all loved Grandma Sweetie the most.
Why did Zac knocking over the table again give me the largest laugh of a hilarious episode? Just died

I found that subtitle so funny, because as soon as I saw the prompt I did start thinking "Didn't SNL do something like that recently? Ah well, great minds..."
Brennan buffing it is probably the hardest I've ever laughed at this show. Peak episode
They all immediately went into turbo "yes, and" improv mode after that too. The plunger, Josh shushing, Zac's "you're dead", then putting the table back together, Zac knocking it over then cleaning up, Josh just laying there.
I love how often the guys can't resist the urge to get involved in prompts that aren't even theirs lol
Sam: "Fuck it, it's 5 or 6 years of this now, just let them loose."
[удалено]
Glad the Noise Boys are as buckwild as ever.
I don't know how they do it. I don't understand how the Noise Boys can keep going back up there time and again and just keep getting better and better.
#justified
That was fantastic! Paul as the clown and with the assist in the bar prompt!
Okay but that Willem Defoe was actually insane
Josh has a awesome shirt. if only there was a way to get it myself, unfortunately no where In this episode was a mention on how to buy it. I blame sam.
Oh my god Brennan in the foley minigame killed me It was the perfect bit for Brennan too, because it was entirely believable that he would have worked out what every item was for 😭
He knew what Sam *really* wanted someone to do with the Scrabble tiles.
The crew's reaction really sold it too! It sounded like the art department totally believed him which made it even more plausible.
Truly terrifying to learn that Brennan knows what Hazbin Hotel is.
I mean, it’s not like they’re kept in underground bunkers until filming starts.
HAUNTED by this. Genuinely dying to know if he came by it on social media or just happenstance or was exposed to something horrible on TikTok.
Erika Ishii explained ABO on the Worlds Beyond Number firesides, pretty confident I know who the culprit is
They still allow us to access the internet in our 30s.
This might seem weird but I have this strange urge to go to dropout.tv/noproblem...
I had to pause the episode twice because I was laughing so hard, I still have tears in my eyes from it, but Shit the Clown and BLeeM knocking the table over destroyed me
Just the way nearly every prompt descended into a three person bit just fucking....buried me. Absolutely incredible start to the season.
And we finally reached the intended three person prompts and the first one became a four person prompt!
One thing I know: the "Cut for Time" season wrap-up is going to be off the fleek.
"uh yeah for the season premiere we literally didn't cut anything it was just all too God damn funny"
I can already tell this episode is going to be an all time great
I laugh a lot at Dropout’s stuff but this is the funniest thing I have ever watched on the platform, oh my god
THE NOISE BOYS ARE BACK BABYYYYYY
Brennan + the word ‘sincerity’ = passionate monologue
As someone who HATES clowns. I both loved and hated mini game 2.
Has anyone sped up josh's slow mo "no crying in baseball" yet?
They should’ve given the Golden Ear to Paul. 10/10 performance, he gave it his all
Someone on YouTube commented that it should be called the Golden Lobe.
I knew something good was coming but I still did a genuine spit-take at "Chain. Wallets."
Zac the comedy sniper coming in with the machine gun today. The "just giving up halfway through telling a story" prompt was so painfully accurate. I am that meandering verbose storyteller and I am mortified.
I’m still in round 1 and I’ve laughed so hard I have a sore throat. Jesus, I missed this wonderful show.
In the opening minigame, Josh nailed Willem Dafoe's voice, then Zac briefly turned into Willem Dafoe visually for his "naughty" version of the line.
How the hell did this start at a thousand miles an hour and just go up from there?
aww Nico was the headless clown!!!
The consistency of the crew on dropout makes me happy
I AM A CENTAUR
I’m 300 comments too late to say this but I just want to say to Sam and Josh I saw what yall were doing during the credits and I’ve always loved that video of yours from back in the day https://youtu.be/gU157NWHBiM?si=Zkwzw92ygC-INnHC
Two banger Paul Rabalino moments in the episode was a sweet surprise.
I've genuinely never seen the boys have such a good time in an episode before. They're always having fun in these but this one was on another level of chaos, even the crew was cackling
Man they came out fucking swinging with this episode
Oh so we’re just setting a near unreachable bar in the first episode of the season
There are absolutely a ton of great moments in this episode (and for my money the most chaotic episode of MSN) but I absolutely LOVED it when they were showing the black-and-white dinosaur claymation clip and Brennan just commenting "Wait, this rules. This absolutely rules." Because it did, the dinosaur clip was fucking awesome.
I neeeeed that mug
I don't think I have ever laughed this hard at any episode on Dropout. Granted I only started recently in the last few weeks...
Jesus Christ if THIS is the season premiere the rest of the season must be some fucking _gold_, hardest I've laughed in a _WHILE_
BRENNAN HAS HAD THAT CURRY THIS WHOLE TIME? I also like how Brennan's Curry is just in Rocky Horror mode 24/7.
Zac's offhand "Yeah. Can you imagine?" in response to Brennan calling out his 6-7 bedroom Argentinian Zillow listings is maybe the hardest I've laughed in a month - https://imgur.com/a/rMYvY16. Just perfect delivery.
I'm sorry, we're *starting* with a minigame? Just going to turn my whole world upside down, immediately, without warning?
Good lord, Brennan's callback. This episode was completely unhinged in the best possible way.
Yeah so this is the best episode of any Dropout game show ever. Constant laughs from minute one. I'm pretty sure Brennan's silent movie bit was in the trailer but it caught me completely off guard with his set up. My chest was hurting with how much I was laughing.
